When I first found FJ one of the first things I learned was that this site doesn't condone batshit crazy antics like that and it's not cool to stalk and harass and fuck around with people like the Duggars IRL like that thinking you are justified in doing so just because of who they are.

And that if you are going to pull that shit you don't do so as a representative of FJ and you sure as shit don't bring those receipts back here.

It's one of the reasons I joined.

I like you.

I've always said there's a big difference between "accepting as many kids as God gives me" and "I gotta get 'em all!" (you know, like Pokemon)

I'm a librarian so I live in cardigans. Its the law. We can't help it

That's okay, I hear kids are washable now!

Giant shopping bags in front of their stomachs---clearly they are both pregnant!  :laughing-rollingred:

Also--I hardly recognized Jessa for some reason.

I actually didn't either! I was thinking a cross between Jill and Joy, honestly. I thought my eyes were messing up.

It's so nice they are visiting and giving publicity to Amy's shop, but it does seem like they are condoning starting your own business as a woman, which I thought would be a big no-no (Doesn't Amy have a house to clean and a husband to cook for? Isn't he the sole provider?).

They have even described her as achieving her dream, etc. According to many fundies her dream should be to have as many babies as possible and build a beautiful home. I hope it inspires Jana to start her own business, lol I can dream.

I wonder what their parents think of them all supporting Amy.

She's probably wearing a skirt over them, the bag is just covering it. (I definitely do not know this for sure, but if she's started wearing pants - at least in photos - it's a brand new thing).

I wonder when that picture was taken. Hasn’t it been unseasonably warm in NWA the past few days?

I would hope so. Otherwise the women are all in sweaters and jackets and 3 in warm winter boots while Felicity is barefoot, not even socks on.

I don't like the second shirt. It was fine until I got to the bottom of it. It looks like it was put through a shredder.

Serious answer - maybe it's okay because Amy is her own boss?
However, they've always included Amy in their family, so I am not surprised that they are supportive of her and glad that they are. You can be supportive of family while disagreeing with their choices. Obviously a cousin/niece would have more leeway here with the Duggars.

I would imagine it’s OK because Amy is not fundy. Surely they shop at other female owned businesses. They used Sierra and her catering service for one. I would imagine their rules are self-imposed and they don’t expect everyone to live by them.

If she wasn't a hardcore fundie with terrible beliefs, I think I would really like Jessa 😂😂

If Amy had children that she put in daycare to go to work they might disapprove but I don't feel they are opposed to women working when they don't have children or when they combine work and children (like Sierra).

Some of the Bates girls are also working and they still consider themselves of the same believes.

So excited, happy. Finally I got my vaccination appointment. The first on the 26th of May , the second on my birthday.  Staying at home is no option, because I work in healthcare, with very close patientcontact. (I make mammograms). Hopefully I can relax a bit more after my vaccination and let the anxiety go.

I bet no fundy mom every got such a touching Mother's Day tribute...

Wishing everyone who celebrates a happy Mother's Day...and some extra love to others out there missing their mom's today, too.

My uncle just died from COVID. He wasn’t that much older than I am, so I kind of grew up with him. Just ten days ago my mom had been pleading with him to get vaccinated, but he wanted to wait to make sure the shots were really safe. I’m kind of devastated.

I just found out my little bonus kid is in a treatment center on a suicide watch tonight. He and I share a hobby and a couple weeks back he opened up to me that he's severely depressed and was wanting to hurt himself. I let his parents know and thankfully he had also been talking to them. I'm just heartbroken because him being in this center means that his parents had to call 911 and have him admitted and I know that was so hard for them to do. He's a young kid and has his whole life ahead of him but just wants to end it all and I don't know how to help him.

Middle aged woman with mommy issues...but missing her today.
She got so much wrong with me, but she had the best intentions and tried so hard.
She got so much right, too.  I forget that sometimes.  Sometimes I remember and dismiss it out of spite.
“They did the best they could with the tools they had.”  I forgot where I first heard that but I’ve carried it with me like a mantra since my parents passed.   They truly did.  Whatever else was missing, whatever I needed that they couldn’t give, the love was always there.

      Always.
      That’s something.
My confidence in my own abilities.  Faith in my own power.  My own strength.  They gave me that, too.
      That’s also something.
They’re why I’m messed up, but they’re also why I’m okay.

      Shit’s complicated.
She died before I figured out how smart she really was.  Sad thing is I don’t think ever figured that out for herself.
Ignore me - just crying in my car waiting to pick up my son.

The nice thing about posting about Jewish history is how quickly it flushes out the antisemites. 😘
