John David and Abbie Grace 4: Wedding Planning

I’ve feel like In the past weddings we’ve always gotten very few information anyways. I think only on Jill and Jessa’s they posted more stuff (I wasn’t into fundies at this point but this is what I’ve gathered from pictures I’ve seen), but for the rest I don’t remember them saying much until after the weddings happened.

This is the first wedding between 2 adults who have both lived and/or worked in a world outside their own family's home. This is especially unique for a bride entering a Duggar union. In comparison, Anna, Kendra and Lauren were all kids at the time of their weddings and wedding planning.

Never thought of that till now. Very unique for this family. I am very happy for John-David and glad he found the right person for himself.

My vote is for floral crotch. Did Michelle say having too many children is like having too many flowers? Crotch flowers make sense if she’s expected to pop a flower out of there every 18 months until menopause.

If I could travel back 30 years I would defo choose the black dress. My dress was creamy 1980s non-frothy no veil. If I then was me now, defo that black one!!

Thank you for giving me my laugh of the day! I'd love to see how the Duggars (and the Bates) would modify these wedding outfits to make them modest enough. You know, you're more holy if you buy a heathen wedding dress (or suit, as in number 3) then modify them to show them how super modest and Godly you are...

@habert thank you for your post. I'm dying! My daughter and I vote for #4. After all, as she pointed out, it is modest, since you can't really see anything.

Also, Abbie has training that can provide her own means of support. That levels the playing field. Having put in the expense and hard work into her degree, I hope she keeps her license current.

This thread is awfully quiet considering that the wedding is tomorrow. Even now, are tearful testimonies being shared over the rehearsal dinner? What does everyone think will happen? 

Wedding party - Zach Bates and Joe for sure. Likely Josiah and Austin. I think probably not Josh, Ben, or Derick. Jana and Joy for sure; possibly Jessa, Jinger, and Jill. Some of the younger Duggars, but maybe not all of them to keep it a reasonable size. I don’t know much about Abbie’s family, but there will be several family and friends of hers.

Pranks - Bad things will happen to the car and maybe the plane. Probably nothing during the service, though the ring might be delivered in a creative way.

Gown and bridesmaids - Sensible, traditional, modest without obvious alterations. 

Reception - Like Josiah and Lauren’s wedding, the bride’s family will make it more normal than the slapdash Duggar shindigs. No Sierra, no Miz Cindy. 

Revelations - It seems impossible that we will get through this without at least one pregnancy announcement, or suspicious bump photo. Who will it be? Anna, Jessa, Jill, and Lauren are likely, and Kendra, Joy, and Jinger are possible. Any courtships? Jed and Jer are old enough, and who knows, Abbie might have found someone for Jana. Plus the Bates and other fundies we watch will be there. They won’t let JRod anywhere near it.

Gadzooks. I think we need this wedding to get the forum steered back in the right lane of boring. We’re losing our touchstones. People are restless.
