Its no squalling baby in a dump truck, but it still satisfies--

Those two are absolutely adorable but poor little Destiny looks like she’s slipping to the ground in the second picture. Davia’s lap is too little for a baby to sit there for more than a minute.

Better uses for the book than reading it:

1. Paper mache

2. Toilet paper

3. Carve a hole and hide valuables

4. Origami

5. Paper airplanes

6. To still be trees and produce oxygen

She sent me that damn book and a framed pic of her family.  Precocious little one learned how to use  stamps.com to evangelize the church of Keller by mail.
(It was actually set by Destiny without my consent because she is terribly mean and kept throwing me into the PC and JTTH all the time.    At least she never sent me a book written by Pa Keller.)

Pffff. Wear that title with PRIDE!

Oh, Pa Keller appears to be an expert on all sorts of addictions. Why didn't he cure Josh?

I’m guessing this is all based on working with men in prison and he hasn’t been formally educated in the field. I absolutely believe there’s much to be learned through experience of working with this population. However he needs to be formally educated on this topic. I’m guessing he’s had little education past high school.

Has anyone read the Keller book? I'm guessing it's all "turn your heart to Jesus to avoid temptation to sin!" as the only possible "cure" for addiction. I'm happy to be wrong though!

David’s grandma Pat passed away. His grandpa Don passed  earlier this year. It’s insteresting that they are both D & P names like their theme. I can see them using Patrick after his grandma in the future.

The Christmas season is a terrible time for a family member or close friend to die.  My dad died just before Christmas 21 years ago and a death does cast a horrid pall over the holidays.

There aren't too many not-obscure P names for boys so I think this is highly probable! Peter, Phineas, .... ? (Babynamewizard gives some other common-enough-to-show-up-on-the-graph names: Preston, Perry, Pedro, and Pablo. I would love for them to have the same name in both English and Spanish for the lols.

I also hope they do a "phil" theme with like half the boys so they have a Phileas, a Philomen, and maybe a Philadelphia. Christian love and some lols, y'all!

Patrick it too Catholic for baptists, I don't think they celebrate St. Patrick's day at all.

It's true that if Priscilla has a few more boys they're going to run out of P names. Apart from Peter, I can't think of any other names that would make sense. Parker, Preston or Payton sound way too modern for them.

I remember the Duggars did one year on the show by having a green meal. Everything had green food dye in it and they also made the comment that it not only went in green, but came out green as well ?

I dunno, maybe they can find some good Prostestant martyr named Patrick to name one after. They don't have a ton of options! I'd love if they get really obscure and go with Ptolomy, Percival, and Parker before they have a Peter or Patrick though.

I have a brother named Patrick who was raised Baptist and is married to a Jewish woman and my daughter's boyfriend in named Patrick as well.  I don't know that he doesn't have a Catholic background, but his mom goes to a Methodist church.  St Paddy's Day may be a bigger deal in places with a bigger Irish population, but it is celebrated by others, even Southern Baptists.  Ignatius or Pius might be too Catholic, but I think Patrick is fine even for fundies.

To add to what @PlentyOfJesusFishInTheSea just said,  the college created for homeschoolers is Patrick Henry College.  Patrick Henry, himself, is something of a puzzle.  He's beloved by homeschoolers and Tea Party types, but he favored the abolition of slavery and would have seen the Orange Toddler as the despot he is.

My friend's husband is an addition specialist with 20 years experience. He is also a qualified Bona Fide Doctor and has been for years. He also works as a lecturer to medical students / GPs and social workers.

I can't see him lumping Drug/Alcohol addictions in with 'Sexual sins' somehow.

Mr Keller's book might be good for taping over escape tunnels?

ps  Mr Keller wasn't much help in the Duggar household. (IMO obvs!!)

@Gobsmacked, I just finished reading “Boy Erased,” by Garrard Conley, in which he described his experiences in anti-gay “conversion therapy.” The “therapy” blithely dumped true addiction issues into the “sexual sin” categories of same-sex attraction, masturbation, and other completely normal behaviors. To these people, being “compelled” to do something they consider “sinful” is the same as addiction.

Oh boy. Looks like they're spending Christmas on my turf this year. Not sure where they went to church, but looks like it is across the street from the trailer park where all the meth cooking/dealing/busts go down. Golly, might I get a sighting of TFDW this year for Christmas? Santa, please?? :cracking-up:

Davia never fails to impress with her unimpressed faces! Happy but yet she still somehow shows that she hates this part.

 I think I'll skip it.

Paul was born on St. Patrick's day and several commenters on the blog remarked on it.

And I could have sworn that I'd seen Pecan all dressed up for St Patrick's day somewhere.:5624796c41285_DastardlyEviledevil:

I just have to love this.  They could probably all use some addition specialists.

David in that hat is now on the list of things that can’t be unseen.

I suppose I could consider my brother an addition specialist as well as a subtraction, multiplication, division, trigonometry and calculus specialist.  He's retired now, but he taught high school math for years.
