It seems likely that both Doug & Beall run that page & have posting privileges. At one point, around the time of the following post, they actually made an announcement about rebranding as "After Vision Forum," and how everything was sweetness & light, not to mention totally virtuous.

Yes, that was Doug pretending that he was protecting his wife and children from an online mob, when in reality, 99.999% of negative comments-- whether from FJers or others-- were about him.

In Faith's defense, she did have a regular job until they moved to San Antonio last month. I am a bit surprised she doesn't monetize her sewing more. It can be trickier to make a profit at than people necessarily think (most potential customers don't realize the time investment involved and don't want to properly compensate for it), but it has to be better than bruised arms every week.

I've come back to DPIAT after months of being away. I never thought to check out Beall's Insta or website and I am truly disturbed. I cannot believe she holds herself as being married while he's out...being a tool. Did he never formally divorce his wife? 

Also, come clean Beall: we can all tell you're doing elder care. There's nothing wrong with that at all, but I guess jobs are ebil in that universe (even though they no longer live in it).

Just noticed that on Vision Forum's facebook page, DW Cinemathographer is listed as a related page.

Not sure if this is Facebook connecting the dots automatically somehow, or if Doug is playing with the idea of maybe using the old VF fan base to help boost his new DWC venture. His current page certainly is a lot more family-friendly right now than his old DW Cinematographer profile used to be...

I think a lot of them have relaxed their standards a lot (e.g., I believe Kelly Crawford’s daughter is a cheerleader and I haven’t noticed a major outcry) but not to the point of being okay with Lady Flo’s style of entertainment... hence my observation that that content has been scrubbed from his marketing materials.

CDT = Continental Divide Trail. He quit last month, due to injury & wanting to be near family and friends:

The US Continental Divide Trail starts/ends (depending on which way you are going) in Antelope Wells, NM and the other end is  somewhere on the Canadian border in Montana.  I suspect that parts of the CDT in New Mexico, especially in late spring and summer could be pretty boring, hot, dry, windy and unforgiving.  I recall driving on a dirt road in the middle of nowhere on the Navajo Reservation in New Mexico, no trees, barely any hills and there was a little sign marking the Continental Divide.

Getting to Wyoming is in itself an accomplishment.  Likely after he and Kelcie have a bazillion kids he can go back and finish up, or hike the unfinished parts with his kids as they get older.  He strikes me as the kind of guy who could develop a successful guide business in any of the western states or Alaska, or do manly or family adventures.

Doug & Be-All married in 1992 and were in VA for at least a few years after that while Doug worked for HSLDA. When he left there, he absconded with their mailing list, founded VFI/VFM, and the rest is history.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking what he accomplished on the CDT. Lots of people don't even attempt to thru-hike, though I think Justice had the potential to make it, having done the PCT that way a couple of years ago.

I'm really just grossed out by MLMs in general, and out of all the Phillips kids, Justice (used to) seem about the least likely to fall in with that sort of thing.

Vision Forum put out it's first catalogue in '97 or '98, I believe.
