More Durbin:

35 months adds up to 2 years and 9 months and a week. Almost three years of documentation that has not been released. What the hell in in them, for such a long period of time, that the GOP is so afraid will get out?

Remember, this is during the Bush administration, which started a war on false pretences, and was all too eager to cover-up their practice of torture.

Grassley is rebuting claims made by Dems about the actual number of pages of documents. He is saying there was duplicated stuff in there and stuff they don't normally go through. Several of the senators seats are still empty.still

Senator Klobuchar is making the point that they got lots of documents late last night and didn't get to review them.

The Kavanaugh hearing perfectly captured in a single cartoon.

Senator Klobuchar is a former prosecutor, and is talking about what would happen when she was a lawyer and received a large cache of documents the night before the trial started.

Klobuchar is discussing an article about Kavanaugh's views on whether the president is subject to the same laws as the rest of us, anti-trust laws, pre-existing conditions in health insurance, and net neutrality.

Senator Sasse of Nebraska is up now.

Sasse is now apologizing for any bad things reported about Kav, and complimenting him. Calls negative comments about him deranged.

Sasse is talking about how the legislative branch has decided to delegate their power to the executive branch or government agencies.

Sasse: Congress is abdicating their responsibilities.

Senator Coons of Delaware has the floor.

Coons is discussing how Garland didn't even receive a Senate hearing, and the rulings that Gorsuch has made in his term so far.

Coons is speaking of the importance of being able to examine more documents from Kav's stash.

Coons is discussing how Kav's views could endanger people like the LGTBQ community, and discussed how his views on the limits of presidential power are concerning.

Grassley is making the case that Kav's views are well within the majority of Americans.

Senator Flake of Arizona is up.

Flake says they have plenty of info from Kav's twelve years as a circuit court judge.

Flake is praising Kav's intelligence and character, and their love of sports. Mag has run two marathons, Flake compliments him on this achievement. Talks about his involvement with his family and reads a letter from the team his daughter is on and he is a volunteer coach for.

Flake admits concern with Trump's tweerts, and his attacks on Sessions.

Blumenthal is telling the justice department to stand firm and not bow to Trump. Free press is important.

Blumenthal is talking about how no one should be able to select their own judge, but that is what Trump is doing.

Blumenthal is reading from the rules about how his request is allowed, and that the Republicans will have to answer when the documents finally do come out.

Grassley disagrees about the rule on adjourning.

Grassley has ruled against Blumenthal's request. Protesters are yelling again.

Cornyn is complaining about the Dems.Grassley is getting mad again

Protesters yelling again. Blumenthal wants to ask about Roe and Brown cases.

Blumenthal is making case that Kav is beholden to conservative groups like the Federalist Society.

Blumenthal says it's his job to ask questions that Americans want answered.

Blumenthal tells Kav he should ask for a postponement, as it's also unfair to him for Senators to make decision without all relevant materials.
