Love that film so much. And Eleanor of Aquitaine is right up there at the top of my list of all time favourite royals.

I've always loved Katherine of Aragon. She was a strong woman and fought for herself and her child.

Both are really interesting women. Eleanor did so much and had an exciting life. Queen of France, going to the Crusades, ditching her crown for England, all the battles in the family against each other, willingly rebelling against her husband in support of their son.

Katherine was so strong in face of all she had to deal with. The uncertainty after the death of her first husband living in limbo all those years not knowing what was going to happen to her. Then thinking everything was going to turn out right after she married Henry only to go through so many miscarries and the death of her baby son. She was an amazing Queen and ran the country when Henry was away one time when they ended up in battle with Scotland which ended in the death of Scotland's King, only to be tossed away after everything she's done. But instead of behaving like an obedient wife like everyone expected especially Henry, she fought back and refused to quit until the day she died. Having to deal how cruel he was in his treatment of her as he tried to get a divorce, including separating her from her daughter.

Right... when he went off to war she was in charge. He trusted her intelligence and judgment that much.  She was the Daughter of not one but two ruling monarchs and spent most of her childhood living in tents or forts near battlefields living fairly rough for a princess.

I have an ongoing fascination with the Romanovs.

So do I. From Catherine the Great pulling a coup on her own husband, her son Paul who despite having the lesson of what happened to his daddy (well possibly his daddy) decides to ignore and make a lot of decisions that maybe isn't smart for his health he also banned women from ruling which seriously became a problem for Nicholas II with males dropping like flies or making morganatic marriages, Peter the Great transforming the country and randomly shaving his nobles beards (he forced most to do so but some of the old nobles or religious order were allowed to keep them for a tax or something but that didn't mean much if Peter spotted one and was in the mood to shave someone beard) or forcing his men to watch anatomy lessons with extra punishment if they threw up, or randomly trying to pull their teeth (he learned to do so from a physician and got so excited he'd often volunteer to some poor noble who didn't want him too but couldn't say no so the nobles would try to hide any type of tooth or medical problem). To the fake Tsars even ones who managed to stay on the throne for an amazing. Man or woman they didn't give up or back down. Nicholas II a good father and husband but completely incompetent ruler along with his wife.

Seriously?  You have issues! She could have had more men than Jenna Jamison and been twice as Flexible at one time but she put that behind her. Evidently she was acceptable to the Swedish government, the people are fine and so far she has been a scandal free royal  And it is not as if  she Is filming Sophie does Stockholm in the Throne room as far as I know.

Funny you should happen to mention XXX star Jenna Jameson. Are you  not aware that she and Snakey were videoed during Snakey's reality series, tongue kissing and making out? And that during her reign as Slitzerella, her interview for being Miss Slitz  Centerfold of the Year, discussed her love for watching porn, mostly girl on girl, which she 'found much hotter'? It's all in the public domain. Google is your friend.

Yes. And It does not matter now.

Reading Comprehension is an even better friend :)

By Felicia!

Lurking about, waiting for a reply from Felicia I see. If "'It doesn't matter now" just admit that she was  bottom of the barrel. Or bottom of something. Screwing porn stars, posing for porn for 20 years, having her thonged ass massaged on television. She's GROSS. Try reality tea honey.

Funny you should mention Jenna Jamison. Are you aware that she Snakey was videoed tongue kissing and groping Jenna Jameson, saying she "watched lots of porn, and finds girl on girl hotter". Yep, less, prurient. All of this is in the public domain. Google is your friend.

Yes. She has been ill for years and that as curtailed her royal duties. She has bad back problems as well.

That's too bad.

On a lighter note She adores couture Frumpers and Prairie Dresses With loads of Ruffles. One Royal fashion site likes to call it the Little House on the Fjord look :)

A rite of passage for a young royal: first public speech! Princess Leonor is such a beautiful poised young lady  :)

She's just adorable.  I like that Letizia and Felipe dress them like kids and are openly affectionate with their daughters (as compared to the royal family I truly dislike and mostly want rid of, the BRF).  And I still wonder what happened to cause that public row between Letizia and her mother in law back in April of this year.

Now? Not many actually. All of them are rightly portraying  a wholesome shiny family image with loving yet hardworking royal parents and model children. There is enough anti monarchal stirrings and criticism in every country that the era of Adultery, partying and displaying Royal extravagance is gone.

That said there are great series  that can be made ... How the Norwegian Royal family had to make a daring last minute escape out of the country at night in WW2 and how The present King of that country fought tooth and nail against his Father and Government for years  to marry a commoner and gave them an ultimate... either let me marry her or I will be King but never marry and there will be no heirs. Your call.

Now or in the past. Henry II and Eleanor Aquitaine and their rowdy children would make a good series, the Dutch might interesting its very, very rare for women to inherit the throne but three in a row? Mother, daughter and granddaughter? Norwegian would be interesting for those reasons. Cleopatra's family although that might be way to much blood and gross (with the sibling marriages) but they were betraying and murdering each other like crazy, or Romanovs almost anywhere Peter the Great, Catherine the Great, maybe Christian IX since his kids married into other branches and he started out a poor, lower branch before ending up King of Denmark.

I want to say most of those stories have been told in TV series or movies in their respective countries... if you can watch them in Dutch or Norwegian with possibly no subs  they would pretty facinating to see :)

Some titles to try:

The Kings Choice:

On the 9th of April 1940, the German war machine arrive in the city of Oslo. The Norwegian King faces a choice that will change his country forever.

The Last King:

Two warriors (Jakob Oftebro, Kristofer Hivju) must protect the last remaining heir to the throne as civil war ravages 13th-century Norway.

The Electronic Domain  section of Royal Forums is your best bet for finding movies and series about royals though. Check it out !

I'd love a good, historically sound movie or series about Henry VII, or even better, his mother Margaret Beaufort. None of this insanity where his wife is having sex with her uncle and Henry's a rapist and all the women are witches and his mother is a psychopath murderer. Please. Something more in the vein of Wolf Hall.

Yeah, I hate when historical movies/series make up weird stuff that is completely inaccurate. Why isn't the actual history interesting enough? If you want to make your own story that only sort of incorporates history, go the GRRM root and create another Game of Thrones.
