My two year grand nephew knows more swear words than Anna & Mary.

When my brother was too young to read, he would look at the Victoria Secret catalogue. He's seen more "porn" in a few years than those "girls" have in a few decades.

Did you catch the reference to a hope chest in one of the comments on Jesse's home purchase post? Sarah said the concept of daughters creating a next egg for future marriage and homemaking will be the topic of a future blog post. Something to look forward to since the Maxwell daughter hope chests (or hopeless chests, as my mother would say) must be massive by now!

Great... Sarah can team up with the Botkinettes, who are equally as clueless. They can do a blog series on how to effectively seal your fate as a SAHD.

I had to laugh at this comment left on the Jesse buys a house post,

Congrats to Jesse. That is a great accomplishment. I have a question for y’all. I have been following your blog since right before Susannah was born. I have celebrated and cried with your posts.

Sarah, if you're going to edit comments at least don't leave in tell tale signs.

Calia is washing the dishes because it's the closest she is going to get to water play in the summer

I also feel sorry for the Maxwell grandchildren but not for this particular activity. My nieces and nephews LOVED washing dishes. I'd fill a sink with warm soapy water, hand the child some plastic plates and spoons to wash and let them go to town. It was a glorious watery mess and the kids loved it. We'd often dress up with chef's hats and aprons to add a cosplay fun angle.

No mention of abortion but Maxwell in law Josh Bontrager got a slam in on his latest blog post about Independence Day.  He's trying to out Maxwell Coward Steve.

Allison’s recent blog post is about all the books she has read this year. Most probably wouldn’t be allowed in Maxhell. I enjoy how open the Bontragers are about their beliefs that go against Steve’s beliefs. It amuses me.

I think it’s hard to guess from which fundy family Jesse will find a wife because we know so little about Jesse. Most of the time I forget he exists. We know nothing about his personality. We don’t know what he likes. All I know about Jesse is he seems to always be pictured doing yard work.

I get the impression he and John are good friends. So I kind of imagine him wanting a wife that will get along well with Chelsy. I guess it wouldn’t surprise me if he was interested in one of Chelsy’s unmarried fundie friends.

OMG you guys—going OT to share something I heard at today’s 4th of July barbecue:  One of the gals is a nurse manager for CNAs who do in-home care for elderly patients. She mentioned one client who is 93 and lives with her 100-year-old sister. They share a bedroom and sleep in BUNK BEDS.  Everyone was concerned for their safety. I, of course, immediately thought of the possible future of the Maxwell daughters.

When I worked at a nursing home, there were 3 residents, 2 sisters and a brother.  They entered the home in their 80's.  They told everyone how they all slept in the same bed until then.  None ever married because it was too expensive to help keep a spouse.

@Hane, I'd like to still be able to negotiate getting into a bunk bed when I'm 100 or even 93!   I think that story is kinda cool and very lovely.

Were they allowed to share the same room at the nursing home?

Come on now, we do know he likes his coffee black, thanks to Sarah and her birthday posts

I told some of you on the Jill Rod thread that I have relatives that were identical twins. They slept in the same bed all their lives and basically lived the same life. When one twin went to an Alzheimer’s unit in a nursing home, the other twin missed her so much. She said she often talked to her laying in bed like they always did. But no one was listening.

Interesting side note. Their names matched also. Their first three letters of their first name matched and the first two letters of their middle name matched. Their parents always dressed them the same growing up. Their father chased off a suitor for one of them. Their parents were very Steve and Teri Maxwell-ish.

How would Stevie respond if someone was interested in buying a load of Maxwell books, but said they'd have to go into debt to buy them?

In their conference infomercials for 1TonRamp they used to be very clear that they wouldn't give credit.  People who wanted to take the courses needed to have an envelope and put money into it every week until they reached the full amount.

I expect they would say that over potentially going into debt for buying books too.   Although they do accept PayPal and credit cards.

Jesse also likes going hiking with John and he likes kayaking with Sarah.  It is so important to spend time with your siblings while you still can.  I can't remember how he likes his coffee.

It is not the getting into the top bunk bed that worries me.  It is the chances of falling out of it and breaking a hip for anyone much over 80.

Thank Rufus, no.  It was bad enough that the brother wanted an enema every day.

They're stoning cherries, which I guess is better than stoning Chelsy for showing her knees or something. But I'm more disturbed by the idea of a family doctor telling her patients to follow the advice that the Maxwells give. Unless she has poured countless hours of research into the body mechanics of using a pizza cutter to chop lettuce, that shit is not good.

I meant to post this a few days ago. Why is it that Steve can weep over eye catchers like contrasting buttons but he can’t see how his own son is wearing eye catchers right in front of him. Look at Jesse’s arms! They are quite the eye catchers! Steve should require he wear only polo shirts one size too big. With a t shirt underneath for good measure. And look at those tight pants! How is the crotch area not an eye catcher? I have always felt that kilts would actually be more modest on men than skirts on women because pants show a bulge on men. While you see basically nothing in that area when women wear pants. I wish a fundie would answer me why pants are ok on men when they have an actual genital bulge that shows in tighter pants. *Disclaimer* I’m not trying to get everyone to look at Jesse’s crotch. I’m just trying to make a point about modesty in fundieland.

Why are the Maxwells accepting gifts from foreign ladies who obviously went to a heathen university and now work outside the home????

Shouldn't they be lecturing her for not staying home and being a proper helpmeet?

PS Just stumbled on these Maxwell pics from last May on the Google Plus page of Bethany Xiques, whose brother Joe just joined the Bontrager Family Band: https://plus.google.com/+BethanyXiques

Yeah, really...that last blog post. The woman who wrote the letter is working outside the home. Why is that presented as being ok? Steve would never allow his daughters to become physicians. And exactly what kind of "tips" is this woman sharing with her patients? Don't watch TV? Avoid wearing eye-traps? Layer your shirts three deep in hot weather?

Bullshit, no one learns absolutely anything from your blog.

Gah, it bothers me how smug they are, thinking they are teaching unsaved heathens the true Maxwell way, why do they think they have anything to teach at all?

Rufus H. Reindeer, that post makes the Maxwells sound as grifty as JRod or GHaw.  they were given cherries last year and had to improvise pitting.  this year someone gives them a cherry pitter for free from Europe, but no one gave them free cherries this season so they condescended to buying some in order to try the device.

newsflash, Maxwells:  for a mere $10.59 plus shipping, you could have gotten this basic model from Target:

https://www.target.com/p/oxo-cherry-and-olive-pitter-red/-/A-16965148?ref=tgt_adv_XS000000&AFID=google_pla_df&CPNG=PLA_Kitchen+Shopping_Brand&adgroup=SC_Kitchen&LID=700000001170770pgs&network=g&device=c&location=1017117&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIgKCy4vOK3AIVxcDACh39Ow2VEAQYASABEgJgo_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

oh, you don't like their restroom policy?  well, Walmart and Amazon carry them.  different types, too.  screw you, Maxwells; get your household of six able-bodied adults off your collective asses and buy your own stuff.

(apologies to my fellow FJers--but not the Maxwells--for the rant.  Jill Rodrigues's second car-grift in as many months has me in a mood.)

I noticed that too. Did their German friend (who I honestly believe could be imaginary) really think we don't have cherry pitters in North America? Or cherries? Geez-- the international postage probably cost more than  the utensil!

I hope they return the favour by mailing her a pizza cutter.   Or their favorite brand of refrigerator polish.

And as intact as Steve’s twig & berries.
