On the topic of student loans - my current debt is £41,357.16 (as of today), just to pay off the interest I'll have to earn around the £55k mark, that won't even dent the loan. As a teacher... that isn't happening. So I'll just cost the government lots and lots of money. (In dollars my debt is a little over $55k in today's very devalued pound, more if you take the old pre-Brexit pound into consideration)

I was pushed to go to uni, it was an assumption I'd go. I enjoyed myself and grew quite a lot, but the teaching was meh, I only had around 9 contact hours a week, and I was paying £9k a year in tuition for the joy of it. The British government has completely defunded vocational education, which means everyone is piling into uni, which means it's even more devalued, it's a vicious cycle.

So it's not even that the girls can't get a higher education, it's that they can't do anything to pick up transferable skills. If their husbands leave them or something tragic happens to them, they not only won't have the skills to look for gainful employment, their churches will tell them not to bother and to pray instead, that the Church will look after them. It's ridiculous. Everyone deserves the right to at least a complete high school education and have the door open to career-based training (or academic if that's what's right for you). Their CV's will be useless, 'Completed high school... barely... Never studied real science, or real history, or real geography' well that cuts off entire career paths. Then only spend their time looking after their siblings/nephews/children/husbands. There's nothing wrong with being a SAHM if that's what's right for a person, but most SAHM at least have done something with their lives to fall back on. Their system is even more unsustainable than the current university system and its piles of debt is. When they each have 8+ kids, there's going to be too many grandkids to keep this life going, the men won't be able to afford it without selling their souls to Satan TLC, and that's unlikely to keep going forever.

It's interesting that so many posters think that Joy will have almost 2 years between kids. Is it because Jill did after her first C-section? I feel like #2 will come sooner for Joy, before summer 2019. If it's another section though she'll probably slow down after that.

I'm enjoying reading your predictions. I'm no fun- I like to wait for 3-4 kids and extend the pattern. I know that some have difficulty getting pregnant a second time and life can intervene for others, so I have no prediction for Joy, Kendra, or Jinger. It's also interesting that Henry came fairly quickly after Spurgeon but no #3 has been announced (thankfully, Jessa seems to be enjoying her boys). My jury is still out on Jill, also. She had 3 kids already, including her 351 month child, so OfJill may be having headaches himself now.

My predictions:

Jessa: April 2019-girl

Lauren: May 2019-girl

Kendra: August 2019-girl

Jill- October 2019-boy

Anna-December 2019-girl

Joy- January 2020-Boy

Jinger- April 2020-Boy

I don't really have any predictions as of yet. I think that if there is a space where a Duggar isn't pregnant, I would be shocked. I'm interested to see how many babies the teenage brides (Joy. Kendra, and Lauren) will have. I think that Joy's c-section may slow her down, but truly it's hard to say. Kendra had a fairly easy birth and Lauren has to get married first, but I'm sure that's coming!

Well, someone better announce soon, only about 6 weeks until JinJer's arrival and no one else on the horizon at the moment. Granted, if they announce at 12 weeks and that is just after JJ, then that would mean no gap...but right now... who knows.

Jinger is due in 6 weeks or so, and Lauren will most likely be pregnant by then. I also think Joy is going to get pregnant soon. Logically you'd think she would wait like Jill did to increase her chances of a VBAC, but for some reason I just see Joy having a second baby soonish.

Perhaps I missed it, but I think this is the first time People.com had nothing to say about a Duggar baby.

I definitely don't doubt that Lauren will be pregnant soon, but currently, no one is (that has been announced of course), so we MIGHT have a gap (doubtful)

I've predicted about 15 months between Joy's first and second. Which is crazy, and I sincerely hope I'm wrong. I really, really hope that she follows sister mom Jill's lead and waits AT LEAST a year before trying to get pregnant again.* But I just have this feeling that's not going to happen. :(

*We don't know whether Jill and Derick prevented/waited on purpose, but regardless, they did 'wait' (whether intentionally or not) the recommended amount of time after Jill's first C-section to get pregnant again, and I hope Joy gets that time as well.

I'm betting Anna is pregnant now, and possibly Jessa. Maybe Jill too.

Nah its way too early for Anna. I think it will be a bit longer for Jill. Not sure on Jessa but My guess is that shes newly pregnant or will be soon and #3 will be born not long after Henry’s second birthday (at least she got a longer break this time). I think Gideon will be about 1 when Joy gets pregnant again. Im betting Lauren will get pregnant right away and Kendra again pretty quickly. I think JinJer’s baby will be closer to 2 before she gets pregnant again.

Im really curious if/when Whitney Bates will have another one.  Kaci is almost 2 and girl is showing no signs of baby fever. Its somewhat interesting especially since she went out and got a real job. Never thought Jessa wouldnt be pregnant again by now so thats cool I guess. Overall a lot of them are having longer gaps early on than I would have anticipated a few years ago.

Yeah when Joy, Kendra, and Jinger were all pregnant FJ was talking about how a Duggar grandbaby  would always be gestating from this point on until Josie was done. But that doesn't seem to be the case! I wish we could observe the Duggars at SIMS speeds to know how many kids everyone has!

I dunno.... Joy might be used to living in baby chaos, but Austin isn't... and he strikes me as the kind of guy who gets pissed off pretty easily (and lack of sleep/toddlers is going to make you pissed off!) I don't think he is going to hurry into another one.

On the other hand, they have waited a long time for sweet fellowship and the consequences (precious grandbabies!) might not be enough to put them off...

Exactly. For me, it's the combination of them being openly quiverfull, getting pregnant immediately after marriage, and really seeming to enjoy the 'physical side of things' (which is awesome - or would be, if they weren't quiverfull! Joy seems more open about showing physical affection, but I don't get the impression that Austin's put off by it, he's just more reserved about openly displaying PDA). But I am very much hoping to be proven wrong!

I actually think it might still be the case - depending on when Jinger gives birth, Lauren may be newly pregnant before that happens.

That photo of JoKen + baby is so jarring. I know that they are technically adults, but it just looks like a child holding her baby sister/niece.

Glad they all seem happy/healthy and that probably this was a hospital birth.

I would hope Joy would wait since she had a C-section and a huge baby I also hope she'd take Kendra's lead and go to the hospital from the start. (Still going off the assumption that Kendra didn't try a home birth) I guess we'll see though Giddy-up is going on four months so she could be getting pregnant any time now. (Wasn't Spurg four months when Jessa got pregnant with Henry or was it six?)

I'm predicting Joy based on Jill's spacing, since she's followed her mother so closely in everything else.  If Jill waited to get pregnant again to maximize the chance of a full quiver, I can see Joy doing that too, on Jill's advice.

Not a scientific method by any means, but we don't have much Joy-specific data to go on.

Michelle had Jill about 16 months after Jd/Jana were born by c-section and then went on to have a ton more kids. I just don't  see Joy intentionally controlling the spacing at this point. We shall see though!

we'll have to see how her second pregnancy go. as for Jill I honestly don't see her ever having a vaginal birth not after two back emergent C-sections. Michelle had four C-sections but the only back to back one's were Jordyn and Josie

I love baseball but I'm dreading the new season because the White Sox ownership is THE FUCKING WORST. I watched Dominican League Baseball (Lidom!) over the winter and fell in love with their joy, spirit, and exuberance. The broadcasts were in Spanish and my Spanish is pretty weak but I loved catching phrases and repeating them. Bombe! I'm sad about MLB and Commissioner Idiota's busywork rules. But I love baseball, always and forever.
I guess I don't have a point. Just bitching. Te amo mucho, Lidom!

      Happy International Women's Day!

Humanity may have some work to do, to improve gender equality, but I was glad to hear that France has taken an important step to protect healthcare for women (and people of other genders who can get pregnant).

Feeling ragey this morning. I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon in the hope of getting help for an ongoing injury. I went to a (different!!) doctor late last year who completely blew me off. He wouldn't do diagnostic testin, he refused to send me to a specialist, and he just told me to "take it easy" and "take ibuprofen." I'm hopeful for today's appointment but I'm also feeling a SEVERE amount of rage at that doctor from last year!

Well, the rash is back with a vengeance. It never completely cleared up. I saw the derm yesterday and they did another swab and yup, raging infection again, still? It is definitely strep skin infection. I am getting so damn tired and run down from this. Who the f would immagine being hospitalized freaking TWICE for a rash?

My niece is going to be a seat filler at this year's Academy Awards.  Seat fillers are asked to wear tuxedos regardless of sex/gender.  If you see a pretty young woman with very curly hair, it could be my niece.
