Just under 300 students in Linn-Mar High School walked out of class on Friday for dueling rallies after posters were vandalized. Linn-Mar administration approved those posters in support of Transgender Awareness Week.

A majority of students came to promote and support students who are part of the LGBTQIA+ community. But, students and parents said the protests come at a time where there is an increased concern over student safety within the school. Both students and parents said chants of “White Power” occur in the school often, and they’ve seen posts on social media about people bringing weapons to school.

Madison Godbey, who is a student at Linn-Mar High School, said in a text message to TV9, students who are LGBTQIA+ don’t feel safe in school. She wrote the posters being vandalized and tearing down a transgender flag to place an American flag make other students feel unsafe in the classroom.

Around 10 students held a smaller counter-protest at the school too. Those students sang the star-spangled banner and waved flags supporting former President Donald Trump. Lane Wiseman, who is a Linn-Mar student, was waving an American flag, which he called the “original pride flag.”

A real estate agent based in the Southlake suburb of Dallas has been disciplined after a series of texts he sent a client was published on Twitter and went viral.

Jeff Cornett, an agent for Coldwell Banker, sent a series of texts to Tom Powell Jr after disagreeing with him on politics on TikTok.

Cornett allegedly tracked down Powell's details from the company database and sent him a series of threatening texts. Screenshots of the threatening and abusive texts were published on Twitter, and within hours they had gone viral, with people demanding action. 

Cornett said he knew where Powell lived and sent an ominous warning to "keep an eye on your family."

A New York City woman is in trouble with the law now after she set a pride flag on fire at NYC's Little Prince restaurant.

Police say a woman seen on video setting a Pride flag on fire outside a Manhattan restaurant has been arrested.

Surveillance video showed a white SUV pull up to Little Prince restaurant around 1:30 a.m. Monday in SoHo. A woman got out of the vehicle, then took out a lighter and set the Pride flag on fire.

Police identified the suspect as 30-year-old Angelina Cando. She was arrested Tuesday on the Lower East Side. 

Cando now faces multiple hate crime charges, including arson, criminal mischief and reckless endangerment.

Keith mentioned her on his show today.  This wasn't her first brush with the law and the fire spread to an upstairs apartment.  So I hope she's going away for a while now for all the charges above and for being a fornicating idiot too.  Didn't even bother with a disguise even though high def security cameras are everywhere.  Idiot.

A Branch Trumpvidian got arrested for doing burnouts on an LGBTQ mural in Florida (of course).

A man with a giant Donald Trump flag flying from the bed of his pickup truck vandalized a LGBTQ+ mural by doing multiple burnouts atop the painted installation, according to police who arrested the motorist on a felony charge.

Police in Delray Beach, Florida allege that Dylan Reese Brewer, 19, intentionally left "numerous" black skid marks across a downtown intersection painted to resemble a pride flag.

Surveillance cameras recorded the Dodge Ram truck--with its Trump flag flapping--screeching across the roadway last Sunday. Witnesses told police that the vehicle (seen above) performed repeated burnouts on the mural, which was installed by the Palm Beach County Human Rights Council and the AIDS Healthcare Foundation.

According to a police report, the witnesses said the truck was outfitted “with a large ‘President Trump’ flag.” The vehicle's license plate was "4USA5," an apparent reference to Trump being the country's 45th president.
