Iowa fetal heartbeat law

A judge has temporarily blocked Iowa's fancy new fetal heartbeat law from taking effect next month;

Quote

A hearing Friday in Polk County District Court to ask a judge to temporarily block the law lasted just a few minutes after lawyers representing the state agreed to a temporary injunction halting implementation of the law, which was set to take effect July 1.

District Court Judge Michael Huppert granted the temporary injunction after state lawyers raised no objections. The injunction stops the law from being enforced while the litigation works its way through the courts, but does not permanently block the law.

The plaintiffs are being represented by lawyers from the American Civil Liberties Union of Iowa and the Planned Parenthood Federation of America.

Lawyers from the Thomas More Society, a conservative law firm based in Chicago, are defending the state.

I hope the plaintiffs prevail. Between that fetal heartbeat law and the new uber-restrictive law in Arkansas, women's rights are being chipped away every day.

I'm not sure how to change the anti-choice mindset that so much of America has. The propaganda has been  effective to the point that it is almost impossible to have a discussion about it using facts.
