Where in the World Is Doug Philips (Who Is a Tool)? Part 8

Oy, the voyeuristic purity prose of Dougie the philandering hypocrite!

"Today, they will take their very first kiss -- Ever! -- With anyone!"

"...home education, multi-generational faithfulness, biblical patriarchy, covenant keeping, virtuous womanhood, and courageous manhood."

"Today, the little children of the congregation will be watching. This too is a blessing. It means that they are growing up with the right kind of examples around them. It means that there is the wonderful hope that they will grow up in a spiritual community where it is normative for young men and women to grow up in purity."

"Last night was my ninth wedding anniversary. As my wife Beall and I reflected upon the joys of our own marriage and the supreme happiness God has given to us, we were also able to rejoice in the new marriage we witnessed a month prior."

And how's that all working out for you, your wife, and your children, Douglas Winston Phillips/DW Cinematographer/Phil Douglas/Cryptoretro?

Wait, what?! Really?

Check out Gene K. Freshour on FB. When they "married " about 2013-4 she was possibly #3 but now seems to be a co-wife to only one other woman. She uses his last name on FB.

ETA: Hadn't checked in on them in a while. Looks like they're now faux Jews.

Is that a thing? Fake Jewish Polygamists?

Re: Noelle Goforth. Between Noelle (and her singing career outside the home) and her sister, Aimee (who has been in a plural "marriage" for the past few years), one wonders if Little Bear Wheeler still believes in what his church preaches.

"Little Bear" is listed as "Pastor Emeritus" at his church.  One has to wonder if the "Emeritus" has anything to do with what looks to be 2 wayward (adult) children?

Think he's been retired for a few years. Before that, IIRC, he'd been spending most of his time & effort with his own business ministry, Mantle Ministries, which was sort of cosplay for Jeebus where he dressed up to deliver "biblical" messages, as in this video:

Here's why he got into cosplay for Jeebus:

Quote

Little Bear and wife, Marilyn, have three children, Noelle, Amy and Joshua, and have now lived through the entire process about which he preaches in this message. Just a few years ago they released Noelle in marriage to Joshua Goforth. At this writing, the Goforths have two sons. Wheeler said it's good to begin this training when children are young, even in elementary school, preparing them for purity and chastity, and implanting in them the idea of courtship, not dating, which he calls practicing for divorce. He said through the years they`ll get used to the concept of this "high calling" and "it becomes a part of their life."

Uh, yeah. Right. Worked like a charm, didn't it, Little Bear?

Well, I personally got lectured by my mother for laughing and whispering with my friends during one of his performances. . .er. . sermons. I was 10 or 11.

Can someone please explain to me the entire purpose of the "After Vision Forum" Facebook page?  I can not for the life of me figure out why they even kept that page, much less update it.  I thought at first he was going to use it to slowly stage a comeback, but at this point nearly everyone knows the life he is really leading, and all the big names with big donation dollars unhitched their wagon from his star a long time ago.   All I can think is that it is his (or Beall's) last hope of controlling the conversation in their old social circle.

Because they're like needy three year-olds who are constantly finding ways to attract attention...attention...attention...

As a Christian, I’m seriously infuriated when people like Doug Phillips DW Cinematographer #scenesfromabeautifulworld and Scotty Brown parade words like “gospel” around with NO reference whatsoever to the Gospel for Jesus of Nazareth.

The Tool was much keener on the OT.  I think the only NT we ever heard in his preaching was the perversion of Matthew 18 about church discipline and gossip.

Same with Scottie.  And neither of them respected or submitted to the "discipline" of their own churches when it was used against them.

I love how they're all all using "nostalgia" as a way of doing pretty much whatever they like. "Sure, I'm hanging out in a bar, but it's okay because VICTORY ROLLS!"

I checked out Josh's Instagram, and I was surprised at a few of the pics.

Quite a change from:

^ In the beige skirt

There's also a pic of their second eldest doing hurdles. I looked up his stats, and was shocked that he doesn't appear to be home schooled, since home schooling was a big part of "Mantle Ministries".

Then I looked up the school. It's a charter called "Great Hearts Monte Vista" and coincidentally, it just made the news a couple of days ago:

https://www.cnn.com/2018/04/20/us/homework-assignment-slavery-trnd/index.html

"Students in the class were supposed to complete an assignment on the "positive aspects" and "negative aspects" of the life of slaves, giving a "balanced view." :pb_confused:

Try mixing it with the equally sweet aroma of schadenfreude for that refreshing "I Was Right All Along" feeling!

This is the textbook they were using - "Prentice Hall Classics: A History of the United States."  Note the top one star review here. https://www.amazon.com/HISTORY-UNITED-STATES-STUDENT-2007/dp/0131335642

Quote

From the text: "But the "peculiar institution," as Southerners came to call it, like all human institutions should not be oversimplified. While there were cruel masters who maimed or even killed their slaves (although killing and maiming were against the law in every state), there were also kind and generous owners. The institution was as complex as the people involved. Though most slaves were whipped at some point in their lives, a few never felt the lash. Nor did all slaves work in the fields. Some were house servants or skilled artisans. Many may not have even been terribly unhappy with their lot, for they knew no other."

Wait a minute, did Faith just reference a John Waters movie?!?!

Gay stuff is fine now! No big whoop!

Seriously though, it's pretty hard these days to find anti-gay quotes that came directly from Doug. He and Spanky edited the Tenets of Biblical Patriarchy to take out the more extreme stuff, and the scrubbing was extensive after the closing of VF. We now have to try to track down VFers who hurriedly copied Doug's posts after the scandal because they just couldn't live without his precious, lying words. Here's one:

“I remember being a boy and having my father shield me from homosexual picketers and protesters that would follow him and our family around at public locations.”

http://hscottcooper.com/three-of-the-most-important-things-you-can-do-this-time-of-year/#comments

(Doug also claims here that a "gangster" threatened to kill the entire Phillips family.)

Googling Doug Phillips + Vision Forum + Homosexuality does bring up the famous Matt Chancey "Art of Manliness" incident.

For anyone who missed it back in the day, it was an epic moment in the history of WTF

http://www.adweek.com/agencyspy/who-is-matthew-chancey-old-spices-man-of-the-year/3478

Quote

“Homosexuality is not a victimless crime. It is a cruel moral perversion that wreaks moral, physical and spiritual havoc on men, women, children, families and institutions. The Bible makes no distinction between homosexuals, pedophiles, bestials and rapists. All are criminals, the toleration of which brings judgment on the land and devastation to children.”

"Normativity" was the anti-gay code word bandied about by Dougie and his ilk for years. I remember Nattie Darnell waxing rhapsodic on his blog WRT the Bradrick! nuptials striking a blow for normativity.

So just yesterday Doug, on the After VF Facebook page, repeated another thing that he said in the article I posted about an hour ago: that Howard was "betrayed" by friends. Friends like... Ronald Reagan?

Could be.  My guess is that pillar of respectability, honesty, and exceptionally delightful American president:  Richard Milhous Nixon.

Howard considered that Tricky Dicky had betrayed him and gone back on his promises to make him Director of the Office of Economic Opportunity and also to dismantle all those nasty liberal Great Society programs.  It was all rather Trumpian.  In the Dickster's defense, Congress wouldn't let him do all that.  Because it wouldn't have been legal.

Howard was an arse.

Oh, lookie here:

Quote

His beautiful eccentricities have become the nostalgia of our family lore. Special trips, dinner table conversations and a life of uncommon moments have become more valuable to us with time.

So Douggie is trying to emulate daddy:  Beautiful eccentricities with wide stances and vine-swinging, special trips like all over Europe and to Iwo Jima, uncommon moments with burlesque dancers and young women who look just like his daughters ...

I love baseball but I'm dreading the new season because the White Sox ownership is THE FUCKING WORST. I watched Dominican League Baseball (Lidom!) over the winter and fell in love with their joy, spirit, and exuberance. The broadcasts were in Spanish and my Spanish is pretty weak but I loved catching phrases and repeating them. Bombe! I'm sad about MLB and Commissioner Idiota's busywork rules. But I love baseball, always and forever.
I guess I don't have a point. Just bitching. Te amo mucho, Lidom!

      Happy International Women's Day!

Humanity may have some work to do, to improve gender equality, but I was glad to hear that France has taken an important step to protect healthcare for women (and people of other genders who can get pregnant).

Feeling ragey this morning. I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon in the hope of getting help for an ongoing injury. I went to a (different!!) doctor late last year who completely blew me off. He wouldn't do diagnostic testin, he refused to send me to a specialist, and he just told me to "take it easy" and "take ibuprofen." I'm hopeful for today's appointment but I'm also feeling a SEVERE amount of rage at that doctor from last year!

Well, the rash is back with a vengeance. It never completely cleared up. I saw the derm yesterday and they did another swab and yup, raging infection again, still? It is definitely strep skin infection. I am getting so damn tired and run down from this. Who the f would immagine being hospitalized freaking TWICE for a rash?

My niece is going to be a seat filler at this year's Academy Awards.  Seat fillers are asked to wear tuxedos regardless of sex/gender.  If you see a pretty young woman with very curly hair, it could be my niece.
