Where in the World Is Doug Philips (Who Is a Tool)? Part 8

The more I think about this, the more it pisses me off.

Doug and his ilk have NO problem dehumanizing those they disagree with, or simply feel superior to. If you're a woman, if you're gay, if you're not of a socioeconomic group that can afford jaunts to Europe and Leica cameras, you're not a full human being in their eyes. You might be good enough to buy their cheap knockoff merchandise as you grasp at the mirage of the affluent "Christian" lifestyle you're suppose to aspire to, you might be good enough to stock his warehouse shelves, or take care of his kids, or have him literally jerk off on you whenever he feels like it, but you're not a real person deserving of any basic human dignity.

And Doug, when it comes to mob justice, there's been a woeful lack of torches and pitchforks in your life.

For someone who tried so hard to grasp what Hannah Arendt was getting at in Eichmann in Jerusalem, he failed miserably.

I don't follow anyone's Instagram, except to occasionally checking in on Beall, but do a fair bit of facebook.  There is only one person on fb (someone I really don't even know personally) who selfies as much as Beall.  I'm in a pre-selfie demographic, so hardly anyone I know is into selfies, but Beall selfies A LOT.

I was just perusing her Instagram and I find her language so confusing. "The cat wanted in our room" "our kids were home" "we" did xyz. Dude we all know Doug's currently out pointing his camera up some young lady's skirt in NYC or Europe or wherever, but she keeps pretending he's there. Its baffling and more than a little pathetic.

Are those shoes cute?  I've never liked pointy toed shoes, the tops of the toes can't even fit into the tip of the shoe.  Maybe it's because my feet have never fit comfortably into them, but I'm sure I didn't like them even before I ever got to the point where I would wear heels.

I'm afraid it's flats (or nothing above a two inch heel, and it has to be a wide heel or I'll teeter right off them and fall over) and a rounded toed shoe for me.

When I am over 50 I shall wear kitten heels
In ugly leopard print with pointy toes, and that make my feet look huge.
And I shall spend my days posting on Instagram
About nothing much, and say we’ve no money for travel.
I shall sit down in denial when my husband leaves me
And make stuff up to pretend that he is still with me.
And plaster that schtick all over social media
To pretend that he isn't swinging all over Europe with burlesque dancers.

With apologies to Jenny Joseph and "Warning."

I've never liked that poem, but Beall really needs to learn to spit even though she is too young to wear purple with a red hat that doesn't go.

I think they are really hideous.  The vamp is too low, I'm with you on the pointy toes, and I think leopard prints look better on live cats.

But what do I know.  I'm over 60!

I'm not fifty yet, but when I reach that age please stage an intervention if I post that I'm wearing those shoes. How long will Beall keep pretending her husband hasn't abandoned her for younger women?

For me, a privilege of age is wearing COMFORTABLE shoes any time and any place I choose to do so. It's NOT forcing my feet into pointy-toed foot maimers such as those things appear to be -- and they're ugly, too.

@Palimpsest - great adaptation of Joseph's poem, which I've never liked either.

I rock AARP 65+ outre by wearing sandals WITH SOCKS if I'm in the mood, and have zero f**ks to give if younger people make fun of it.  It's deliciously comfortable.  Old age is awesome in so many respects.

Geez those are ugly shoes.

I just can't believe all her "now I'm 50" crap. I figured once she turn 50 she would get over it. I'm a couple years she of 50, which means quite a lot of my friends/peers are almost 50, 50, or past 50. I've never known anyone to carry on like this about a birthday! I'm embarrassed for her!

Hello, my name is Palimpsest and I'm a shoe-aholic.  Well, I'm trying to get over it so perhaps slightly reformed shoe-aholic.

No really.  I positively lust after those floral heels Jinger wore for her wedding.  I wore sky-high platforms in the 70s (I'm also vertically challenged) and a dainty high heeled  shoe is like crack for me.

Sadly, these days I am condemned to flats.  Not because of my feet, which survived very well (I always bought shoes that fit), but my knees and back can't take heels over an inch.

I can still find and wear flat shoes and sandals that don't look too grandma, but I did buy some hideous Birkinstock looking velcroed things at Costco last year.  They are bliss for dog walking but that is it.  I still rock pretty shoes in all colors of the rainbow.  Just flat ones.

And I think Beall's kitten heels are really ugly.  I'm so glad others agree. :)

I am erunerune and I am not a shoe-aholic. I was still compelled to track down Jinger’s wedding shoes and buy a pair. They are now an idol in my prayer closet.

Is he just bullshitting here with the "joining us for the journey" stuff or what? Like, did Ermey just happen to be on the same flight, or was he actually with the VF people? This was way before I started following them, so I don't know.

He's full of it.  There was a massive reunion for vets of Iwo Jima in 2005 for the 60th anniversary.  It was run by the Iwo Jima Association of America.   You have to be part of an official memorial group to get access to the island.  Doug and Geoff Botkin managed to sell their cinematic skills as director and producer to the IJAA as official videographers.  Then they made a "movie." https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0774039/?ref_=ttfc_fc_tt

So Dougie joined R. Lee Ermy and the IJAA, not the other way round.

Here's Faith being photographed by her gay friend again without saying anything like, "Gee, I really hate how I used to be in a cult that demonized gay people and was led by my dad who pretends he didn't lead it. Happy Easter, gays!"

Surprising? Nope, just more evidence that apples seldom fall far from their trees.

As an observation, Be-All seems to be the only one who mentions Jesus any more on her IG or other social media. Not a peep about Jesus from the Cheatballers or Faith, never mind DW Winters/Phil Douglas/Doug WP/WP Cinematographer and his various online personae.

I think I've said this before, but! While I'm usually glad when former SAHDs get to broaden their horizons, it actually disturbs me that the Philips girls (+Beall) get to walk away from VF like it was just a phase, just a wacky little experimental period, while people who started dysfunctional families under VF's dogma (eg BRADRICK) will never get the chance to walk away. They'll be dealing with the consequences of VF forever.

It's grossly unjust, is all.

Someone put a horrible filter on that photo. The original on Rosen's page looks MUCH better, it's legitimately my favorite out of the stuff he took at the Plaza. Check the comments for praise from a gushing Dougie....

"Crypto" also commented on Faith's repost, which shocked me. I've never seen him post on her page under that persona (he did under "scenesfromabeautifulworld" when she first joined Insta, then seemed to go silent after he was outed here).

Also, I was stalking the "likes" on Faith's page.

Guess who's jazz singer with a regular gig at a bar in San Antonio? Noelle (Wheeler) Goforth

Now that's a find, @AnnaSofia! Well done!

Noelle once drove Doug into a frenzy of purple prose: “The lady of the hour is Miss Noelle Wheeler, the twenty-four year old daughter of evangelist Richard ‘Little Bear’ Wheeler. Vision Forum readers may recognize her as the girl who graces the cover of the Beautiful Girlhood Collection with such genuine sweetness and femininity… Anyone who has met Noelle knows that she possesses a refreshing innocence and precious naivete that only comes from a girl who has been raised around the sweet aroma of Christian holiness.”

http://www.beforethekiss.com/testimony files/Joshua Noelle Goforth.html

I love how they're all all using "nostalgia" as a way of doing pretty much whatever they like. "Sure, I'm hanging out in a bar, but it's okay because VICTORY ROLLS!"

I made a similar comment to a friend about Doug not mentioning Jesus not to long ago and she said something like "just like when he was head of VF." Which is a good point. It was never about Christ and the gospel.

You mean this cryptoretro?

Re: Noelle Goforth. Between Noelle (and her singing career outside the home) and her sister, Aimee (who has been in a plural "marriage" for the past few years), one wonders if Little Bear Wheeler still believes in what his church preaches.

My reactions precisely! As a Christian, I’m seriously infuriated when people like Doug Phillips DW Cinematographer #scenesfromabeautifulworld and Scotty Brown parade words like “gospel” around with NO reference whatsoever to the Gospel for Jesus of Nazareth.

I love baseball but I'm dreading the new season because the White Sox ownership is THE FUCKING WORST. I watched Dominican League Baseball (Lidom!) over the winter and fell in love with their joy, spirit, and exuberance. The broadcasts were in Spanish and my Spanish is pretty weak but I loved catching phrases and repeating them. Bombe! I'm sad about MLB and Commissioner Idiota's busywork rules. But I love baseball, always and forever.
I guess I don't have a point. Just bitching. Te amo mucho, Lidom!

      Happy International Women's Day!

Humanity may have some work to do, to improve gender equality, but I was glad to hear that France has taken an important step to protect healthcare for women (and people of other genders who can get pregnant).

Feeling ragey this morning. I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon in the hope of getting help for an ongoing injury. I went to a (different!!) doctor late last year who completely blew me off. He wouldn't do diagnostic testin, he refused to send me to a specialist, and he just told me to "take it easy" and "take ibuprofen." I'm hopeful for today's appointment but I'm also feeling a SEVERE amount of rage at that doctor from last year!

Well, the rash is back with a vengeance. It never completely cleared up. I saw the derm yesterday and they did another swab and yup, raging infection again, still? It is definitely strep skin infection. I am getting so damn tired and run down from this. Who the f would immagine being hospitalized freaking TWICE for a rash?

My niece is going to be a seat filler at this year's Academy Awards.  Seat fillers are asked to wear tuxedos regardless of sex/gender.  If you see a pretty young woman with very curly hair, it could be my niece.
