I'm hoping someone on here has heard of this guy. He's an American who is comming to the UK in the summer and is advertising his conferences all over my facebook feed. I have tried to find out about him and if he is dodgy but google just links me to his site. I listened to a video of him talking but honestly none of it made sence.

Anyone know what he is about?

I'm not really familiar with him - although I have heard of him.  Others may know more and chime in soon.  He's quite a common type.  If none of his videos made sense to you - why then his preaching probably doesn't make sense!

Disclaimer:  I'm suspicious of charismatic psychic prophetic apocalyptic God prattling preachers right out of the gate.  Go to see him at your own risk. Although it might be academically interesting to see his prophetic rear end in action.

Here's his bio:  https://www.morningstarministries.org/biographies/shawn-bolz#.Wq_2hqjwbIU

He preys on celebrities:  http://expression58.org/

Pulpit and Pen don't like him.  But the Pulpit and Pen crowd are rather crackers too:  http://pulpitandpen.org/2017/06/06/false-teacher-of-the-day-6-shawn-bolz/

Any relation to Ray Bolz? (Not sure of the spelling, so if Ray’s name is spelled differently, then probably not).

He was famous for the song “Thank you for giving to the Lord”. If I’m not mixing up facts, he also came out as gay.

Anyhow, back on topic, if his message is not clear in recordings, I would say “Stay away” IRL.

My first thought was some would-be preacher wants an overseas vacation so he set up some speaking dates.

Just went to the Pulpit and Pen link (thanks!), and if what they write about his links to Bethel is true (What exactly does “links” mean?), FWIW, commenters on the Wartburg Watch blog recently intimated that Bethel is bad news.

He sounds like the usual ministry BS, but with a prophecy spin.  I wouldn't touch the guy with a 10-ft pole, but that's just me.

He has a full calendar of speaking dates across the US.

I wanted to WTF the “full calendar of speaking dates” but it’s really not all that surprising.

FWIW, I find the Wartburg Watch far more credible than Pulpit and Pen.  Bethel is indeed bad news.  It is linked to as an affiliate to Bolz's "ministry" here:

https://bolzministries.com/friends-of-bolz-ministries/

That said, P&P seems bent on taking down evangelical competition and are slapdash when it comes to detail.  They are a strange group headed by one JD Hall.  He had (or has) something to do with Reformation Montana.  https://refmt.org/

Wartburg Watch called out Pulpit and Pen themselves a while ago.  Called them theological thugs, if memory serves.  It had something to do with P&P exploiting a kid's suicide for their own agenda.

Trying to sort out extreme fundamentalists is extremely complicated!

Ray's name is spelled "Boltz", so probably no relation. And, yeah, it looks like he came out as gay around 8 years ago.

Thanks for the info guys. I had no intention of seeing him am not religious. I was concerned he was having a childrens day at one conference. He seems to have a book or bible study aid aimed at children I really don't like the targeting of children by religion like this.
