Mitch and Bryn’s Story sounded more normal. Bryn came back home after she graduated from a California bible college. He noticed her at church. No pushing was required.

And notice that they haven't announced a lil'  blessing yet either!!  At this point they will make it to their first anniversary--and maybe even New Year's --with a baby.

I believe they want children right away because they made a joke about it a few months back. It just hasn’t happened as quickly as the Boners. I hope they are actually enjoying their time alone together.

In my opinion, Joshua is the most insufferable of the three married boys. Probably because he says ignorant stuff and acts like he knows everything. The other two must keep their ignorant thoughts to themselves. That’s much more tolerable to me ;)

Agreed. He barely finished puberty and already acting like a damn preacher. Those are the worst kind of guys IMO. Carson strikes me as a more manual, pragmatic kind of guy.

Mitchell too. I think their father is their example so they will all come across as smarter than you holier than thou headships. But Joshua is by far the worst.

I appreciate those unromantic “love” stories. They remind me to be content in my singledom. Nothing is a million times better than that depressing crap.

I fully agree with you.  He reminds me a lot of Josh Duggar before his fall from grace.  He has the same smugly arrogant self assuredness.

Let me be the first to predict Josh Bontrager will have his own fall from grace; it may not be as public as the Duggar's but will impact the Bontrager brand big time.

I imagine his will be more like Derrick Dillard’s than Josh Duggar’s.

So, uh, Carson and Carolina, what do you actually like about each other? I'm still confused.

This. They just prayed and fasted and their parents kept insisting that they should get to know each other, and then, just like that, they started a relationship

They even said they had no mutual interests or had nothing to discuss with each other. Sounds like True Love! Honestly, I do feel sorry for C&C. Both of the parents should take a long, hard look on the mirror if C&C end up miserable together. Way to fuck your kids up.

I don’t understand his pressure to be married at a certain age. I commented, it has yet to be posted, that I don’t understand why they can’t be friends with someone of the opposite sex and if it turns into something than great if not then no feelings are given away. To me it would help take away all of that pressure of staying pure while getting to know someone. On another note. Carson’s parents failed him and possible his brothers by not teaching them how to talk to females that they weren’t related to.

When I was young, I thought being single was the worst and this idea led me to a complicate relationship.

Enjoy your single life!

Especially because they are very young!  My grandma has a very traditional rural catholic background, but even in her world, a 20 year old man was considered young to marry. Of course, some married at this age, but families preferred to marry his sons at a  slighly older age. And conversely to what some people think, teen brides were not common. For brides, 18 yo was young, 20-24 was perfect, +25 was old. It meant there was a big pressure to find a boyfriend between 18 and 24!!!

I suppose Bontrager boys were having "sinful" thoughts, as every.single.teenage has, and they need to be married  quickly to avoid them approaching girls or looking for porn or whatever. But hey, arranged marriage didn't help Josh Duggar to control himself. On the contrary, Bontrager girls don't need to be pushed to marry, because we all know women don't have dirty thoughts. Ahem.

I wonder if other reason to marry off 3 sons at a time, was because mom and dad Bontrager were fed up of so many young men at home, being noisy and arguing and feeling frustrated because their lack of privacy. And it was easy to marry all of them at once, that being through courtships and engagements for years. It's like thinking "let's be practical and forget romanticism and emotions". That's why I found Chelsy's wedding beautiful, because despite the poor decoration, al least she had a special day, they were in love and old enough to know what were they doing.

Right because in their world feelings don't matter. love is a choice and when you have been emotionally stunted like they have they don't even know how to express anything than than their echo chamber.  It made me so terribly sad thinking of those young women who don't know themselves or their spouses very well pledging to be "submissive" to a young man who is their head because of his anatomy.  That even if they had an inkling of doubt could they say anything? I imagine the pressure to marry is enormous and bear children for the Lord is even worse.

He seems down to earth and hardworking. Things I look for in a man TBH. And I find him quite handsome, too. Yet his vile beliefs also make him really ugly.

Denver is handsome too. And he has money from the Bible Bee. I wouldn’t be surprised if he got engaged before Allison.

Well he is a real catch in fundieland! Money, good looking and the Bontrager's work ethic is probably also widely known within their circles.

The Bowers house and outbuildings in Keota, Iowa are now on the market for US $319,000: https://www.trulia.com/p/ia/keota/1256-250th-st-keota-ia-52248--2053664577

Good grief!  Is that all!  I'd need to strip that patch of garish wallpaper, and I wouldn't need the outbuildings or all that acreage, but that is a surprisingly nice house.

Wow, that's a lovely house. That illegible swirly writing all over the place would drive me insane, but that's easy to get rid of. I'm just questioning why they seem to have an entire room devoted solely to an American flag and a small framed picture of an American flag...?

Painting swirly exhortations on walls are a favorite hobby of fundy maidens (along with shilling essential oils). I would have painted over them before putting the place on the market.

They did an excellent remodel; now I need to figure out how to find out how much they paid for it--I guess they only bought it in 2016. It will be interesting to see if it sells at anywhere near this price--it is significantly more expensive than almost all the other homes on the market in the county.

@Palimpsest-- what I thought was a garish patch of floral wallpaper I now realize is just a shower curtain.

I can't believe they left all that furniture--does it convey? How do these people have so much money??

The flag room--To show us heathens that they are so much more patriotic than we are.

I'd bet money that was the school room.

Sometimes realtors advise leaving some furniture in the house so you don't look desperate to sell.  And you are right about the shower curtain. :)

I love their style. Except the wood paneling. But the rest is right up my alley. Even that shower curtain. But I can understand why others might hate it. It is quite bold.

Iowa can be nice! And if you don't need the acreage, you can get a pretty decent house at a similar price point in most of the urban areas as well.

An apartment for sale near me has the option of purchasing two parking spaces -- each an additional $65,000 on top of price of apartment.  Talk about different cost of living...
