At the bottom of the latest post, what does "Sarah for all the rest" mean?  Is that a saying I'm not familiar with, or weird Maxwell grammar?

@CyborgKin she has been doing that sort of thing for years. Because it just cannot be Sarah for Sarah...

I've seen this expression used in old letters from the 19th and early 20th centuries. One person would write a letter on behalf of their entire family, detailing what has been happening in their lives and sign it "Ethel for the rest" or whatever. Sarah probably picked up the expression from an old book, or maybe from reading missionaries' letters to their folks back home. Or perhaps Gigi saved some old letters from way-back-when and Sarah was actually allowed to read them.

Another photo of Sarah wearing eyeliner. That definitely has to be Chelsy's influence.

I say this as someone who only wears makeup on special occasions, and who thinks that being required to wear it is as bad as prohibiting it - but it really suits her and I hope she keeps it up.

I have great hopes that Chelsy will breathe a bit of life into Sarah, and that Chelsy will, in general, throw open some windows in Maxhell and blow some cobwebs out of that fusty family.  Chelsy knows how to be a sister, and hopefully, she'll give Sarah a lifeline into how to wake up from the night of the living dead that is existence in Maxhell.

What I think might happen is that Chelsy will become a partner in John's business, it will really take off and become super successful and maybe Sarah can start working for them, giving her some income and a wee bit of independence.

A birthday for baby Elizabeth, and her sisters got baby dolls. So much wrong with that, but what struck me is that Ruthanne didn't get a birthday party but her newborn sister did. I hope Ruthanne got one.

Teri is ironing for Anna Marie. While I think helping Anna Marie and Melanie is fantastic, it kills me to see it spent in ironing (and I actually enjoy ironing). Why keep using that fabric for new sewing projects? I'm well aware of the PITA that is sewing with knits, but good lord. We know Anna Marie is a skilled seamstress. Why not use an easy-care fabric that just might make one aspect of her life simpler and easier?

Sarah has two!!!! muffins on her plate. Chelsy seems to be enjoying her muffins, but Sarah doesn't seem to know what to do with that much food.

It is lovely to see the Maxwell sisters spending time with Chelsy to help her feel part of the family. I hope that is a positive thing for all of them.

I see they’re already shopping for OCC.

I don’t think we’ve ever seen Tina with her hair tied up. She and Bethany seem to have very short hair, it’s never been longer than a bob. Wonder if Tina now wants longer hair? (You can properly see the ponytail in the puppet show photo).

That puppet show... wonder if it was a Bible story they were doing??

Who are these people?  IMG_7599.jpg

They seem to be a young couple that the Maxwells are friends with. They didn't mention their names.

I'd be shocked if it was anything BUT a Bible story

All the kids and adults in this family must be so over the Bible at this point they are all ready to scream. Except Steve.

Of course it is. I think they are the only stories the kids are allowed to read.

I rarely stop by here because nothing happens in Maxwell land.

I only saw part of the thread name. "Life is still" is all I could read, in my head "beige" popped in. "Life is still beige" would be an awesome thread title in my opinion.

In any other family, two babies born the same week would be fun. But not here. It's cleaning.  Ironing.  And making little kids where eronmous plastic food catchers--even in the car!

Melanie and Nathan’s kids are the cutest by a mile.

DISCLAIMER: if you hate speculation, just move right along.

Could just be early morning crazy eyes, but Chelsy looks to have a queasy look about her in that muffin pic.  The mochas seem to suggest otherwise but perhaps we will know soon enough as the Bontragers seem to announce on the early side.
