Was blind but now I see - Carri Me Away

I'm glad Carri is out. I read the thread about her loss months ago and I'm just relieved she's away from that life.

Board culture has changed significantly since the Yuku days.  People genuinely cared about Carri and were trying to get her to seek medical care.  At that time people did not see the interaction as creepy.

Carri knew about us and IIRC basically thought we were a test of her faith which is unfortunate because people were willing to help

A member also gave a special mattress to Emily and Dna for one of their kids

going to a public event is different and if you do attend one you can post about that here   You still should not act as a representative of FJ

Wow. This is tragic. I rely on FJ to hare the wrongs of individuals in religious circles, with some of which I have connections. It helps me be alert of what is going on and spread the word.

If it's the one I'm thinking of (cant' remember the name) but they were fundy lite adoptive family??  They had several kids, then adopted several from Africa I think.  She posted very upbeat stuff, I really enjoyed her blog, to be honest.  Kids were super cute, then she committed suicide in the family van.  Apparently she had depression, possibly bipolar?? Jenny something was her name.  Last name was Grolius or something?

I managed to find the husband's (public) Instagram that he somewhat actively uses, and the kids are all so grown and seem to be very happy, also they seem even more fundy-lite nowadays? The dad has a tattoo, all of the kids dress like other kids their age, girls even wear shorts and short skirts, he takes the little ones trick-or-treating, they play sports and go to games, they seem to all be going to regular schools too. He seems to be doing right by all of them, which makes me extremely happy.

@apple1, I can't speak for a FJ member going to Steve Anderson's church, but we did have a trio of FJers going to a Maxwell conference in Germantown, TN.  They told Sarah, IIRC, that she could get out and there were people who would help her.  (She made a heart shape with her hands, indicating that she loved her daddy.)  They also famously humped Uriah, the Maxwell bus.  There was another time that a forum member who I believe has deactivated her account went to a Duggar yard sale and tried to snap photos with a hidden camera.  I believe that she might have been arrested or at least had a run-in with the cops and made to leave.

They told Sarah she could get out but Mary was the one who made the heart shape and said she loved her daddy.

The forum member who went to the Duggar yard sale was ticketed and escorted from the premises; she is still active here. You can still find both sets of threads if you go digging.

I do not know, though I do remember the story.

I’m sorry about the death of your mother.

I am so sorry for your loss. I would consider contacting the news station. They may have a copy in their archives.

This is absolutely heartbreaking.  I was very involved in the threads during her pregnancy with your brother and that tragedy has stayed with me all these years, obviously not to the same effect that it would have had on you.  Its a shame that the midwives are still practicing.  I saw that she had broken free and seemed to be doing well on her own.  @Curious and I spoke of her as recently as this past fall.

I hope that she is at peace now, sewing up a storm with the best machine she could dream of.

As for the actual video, you probably dont want to hear that.  If I recall they played the 911 recording and it was disturbing.

Your post was one of the first I ran into online...I was amazed how everyone was still talking about her in 2017.

My mother was at the end of the divorce. Only had 60 days. 60! Least as of October 26th??

A lot has changed.

Thank you to everyone who shared their condolences ?

I will most definitely get ahold of Fox 59 and hopefully get a copy!

As much as we come off as harpies, none of us want anything other than good things for the women trapped in these relationships.  I view her as another victim of a domineering religion.  Stripping her blog, something that she so clearly cared about and enjoyed, was just one more example of the power and control exhibited by men in these relationships.  I believe that attempting to remove the information was part self preservation and mostly control.  If you poke around you'll see that we try and keep up with as many of the "old school" bloggers and the vast majority of them have escaped the patriarchal lives they once lived.

I'm glad that she got a taste of life and got to enjoy football games and independence.  Its truly a cruel twist of fate that after suffering so much after your brother's death that she would be taken just short of her goal.  I hope that she had the time to repair relationships with your siblings and find peace with herself.  I truly hope that you and your sisters see her as a symbol of strength and proof that with determination you can overcome and succeed.

Selfishly, I'd love to know the truth about what really happened that day but I'm also curious how you and your siblings are doing.  I totally understand if you dont want to share.

Honestly. My views are exactly how you wrote. After living that life I didn't experience anything. It makes me "unique" in the world but it's not fun.

As for my other siblings. Idk. I was kicked out of the home after turning 18. My father allowed me to fill 1 backpack of stuff and told me to leave his property. Never to  come back.

I'm the black sheep and proud. I gave my mother enough strength to show her you can get away. You can live your life your way. Shortly after I was kicked out my mother and father filed divorce.

We can PM each other id rather it not be public if you have any questions.
