Thanks for the references to Matthew Thomas' birthday month in the last thread, @Bethella. I obviously missed those on my trips through the Thomas blog.

@Bethella I noticed that you have Logan Brown's engagement listed but his unmarried adult sibs (like Hunter, Mariah and Aspyn) aren't on the singles list.  I know that the kids seem to be straying from the parents' teachings but should we include them?

I suppose I could, for the most part I haven't really messed with that list in terms of adding or subtracting families from what I got when I took over the lists. I know there are families that we follow that aren't listed on the unmarried list and families that are on the unmarried list that aren't followed closely any more (and aren't on the main list I maintain). 

What do people think- Should I update the list to include families like the Browns and McDonalds?

I look at that list of 12 Arndt kidults and try to think who they could attract. The prospective spouses need to not be afraid of associating wth pants and white shorts wearing women. These women should like baseball and be interesting enough to wean the men off their penguin fixation. I thought the Coghlan girls might suit some of the younger 20 something brothers. These girls would have to be strong to guide their men away from Vine Valley to reality, without the men folk knowing they were being guided. 

 

Another match i could see in ten years, would be the eldest Shrader daughter, Alatheia, and one of the younger Bates boys, Isaiah, I think. Both those kids have the cutest dimples. No other reason. Just their smiles... But not for 10 years!

I haven't seen any announcements but there does seem to be a Knot page (https://www.theknot.com/us/sarah-mally-and-zack-robertson-jun-2018). Her sister Grace is engaged to Josiah Moffitt.

This is what I found too. Well, perhaps God finally perfected the art of dropping men on front porches.

I personally wouldn't include the brown family on the list. Although the parents are fundy, so far I haven't noticed any of the adult siblings express the desire to move in that direction; rather the opposite, I'd say. If one of the adult offpsring specifically indicates he/she intends to follow fundy doctrine, that person could be added to the list. But I don't think it's necessary to add them otherwise.
I don't know who the McDonalds are, so I can't say anything about that.

Since we have a continuing thread about the Browns and an entire Mormon Quiver I think we should include them.  We do talking about their relationships/pregnancies.  The kids may not be fundie but the parents are still deeply enmeshed in the polygmaous lifestyle and beliefs.

Oh wow, where did you find that? Funny that a woman whose whole brand is about meeting a husband would be so quiet about it. Maybe she didn't follow her own advice?

Yeah. I was the first to notice that she was engaged via Facebook. They had pictures together and were engaged. Now every picture of the two of them is gone on both of their Facebook pages. It's as if it never happened. It's the fundy way

Mally isn't a common name but Sarah is very common so I am not surprised. I see nothing on either Mally FB page about Sarah being engaged. Looks like the Mally children with staysingle for awhile longer.

Anyone remember the large, homeschooling, head covering Klein family of the InKleinations site/blog? They've been snarked on a few times on FJ, because despite clearly having a sense of humour they're die-hard creationists and believe that making children copy the Bible cover to cover is excellent homeschooling, and the adult girls have a plain appearance. Also, they're acquaintances of Rebecca K!!!'s family (they go to the same church I think, and have appeared on her blog) and Abigail Klein illustrated a couple of Sarah Maxwell's Moody books back in the day. I think they were last mentioned on FJ when the eldest offspring, Zachary, got married and his bride wore a white shirt over her wedding dress - well, last mentioned either then or when their first child, John Mark, was born.

Anyway, Abigail is getting married on Saturday. Her bridegroom is Nathanael Koilpillai, brother of Lily Koilpillai who Abigail's brother Ben married earlier this year.

So I just want to say that I really love the title of this thread because it’s a game I play often. I’m still new to the whole Fundie-watching thing. I’m an atheist myself but for some reason, I find fundies fascinating (many times fascinating only in the insane absurdity of their beliefs).  I’ve mostly been following the Duggars and the Bates because they’re on tV so it’s easy to get interested in the the insanity that is quiverful (or as my hubs likes to call them, “clown-vag families”).  recently I’ve also started following the Wissmanns, Bontragers and a little bit of the Bowers be Maxwells. 

 

Basically, I’ve said all that only to point out my limited knowledge of these families.  But I still try to play the matching game with them. Like, I think that Allison Bontrager and John Duggar could be a cute couple.  And I think Elizabeth Wissmann and Nathan Bates would be good together. 

 

I don't know enough families to match anyone with Jana Duggar or Sarah Maxwell. I feel for these two for some reason. I think it’s because I know their self esteems must be very fragile because they haven’t been able to find and guy... I’ve struggled with self esteem issues since I was a teen bad I’m in my mid-thirties. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. Plus, we all know the story of poor Tabitha Paine and what she ended up with...

Wow. I was pretty much convinced that those women would never, ever be married. 

The Kleins are absolute nutters when it comes to YEC (they haven't worked out that Social Darwinism is not an inevitable outcome of accepting that theory of evolution has actual scientific merit) and I get the impression that the patriarch is a prize douche, but the kids all seemed to have a sense of humour and not take themselves too seriously.
