Chelsea needs to lower this baby’s crib STAT! Baby girl is going to flip over the rails

I seriously had to look carefully to see where the real girls ended and where the dolls started.

My mom once dressed my two sisters and I in the same dress for a professional photo.  This meant that forever, we matched at church or wedding.  Then, I started getting the dreaded thing as a hand-me-down.  I flatly refused to hang it in my closet the third time.

Oh my god, so many dresses with pumpkins!!!

I just don't understand doing this to your kids. It's just...no.... Does she not see that other girls do not dress like this constantly? Or does she judge everyone else? I'm going with probably yes, giving that comment about the Hillary woman.

Man, I wonder how she would dress a boy?

She tagged enough on Instagram  to make it extremely easy to figure out which church she attends.

I try to be flexible about my daughter wears as long as it is appropriate for the weather and the activity. Today she picked out an outfit I wouldn't have thought of that was really cute...at least for a 7 year old.

A couple of thoughts:

I'm old, I admit it---but I don't understand spending hours staging your home and children so you can take amazing "perfect" pictures to share on social media.

Also, I assume most of the clothes are from some very expensive stores that I've never heard of--like maybe where Kate shops for Princess Charlotte.

Finally, I was a stay-at-mom for years and I have great respect for stay-at-home moms. However, if your life begins to revolve around dressing your children up in lavish costumes and posing them for Instagram, GET A JOB.

Except Kate actually has class and good taste, and so Princess Charlotte is never dressed in anything as tacky and overtly nouveau riche as those ruffled and bedazzled monstrosities.

Oh my dear lord! So horrible! As if you could say that they look bad, just because they're not all dolled up. They actually look far better and not like ornaments.

This is the most worrisome post to me. It's clear from this that she doesn't just dress them up as a hobby or because it's fun, she really thinks they aren't fit to be seen unless they are all dolled up. And that the role of girls and women is to be ornaments.

And seriously, they're two cute little girls in church tee shirts with messy ponytails. They look like 80% of the elementary school-aged girls I see out and about on the weekends. Does she just think everyone else is just inbred ruffians or something?

And she's got about two more years before that oldest girl rebels BAD. What does she think she is going to dress 16 year olds in? Matching curtain outfits? I did have a friend in first grade whose mom would make her sleep in curlers and dress her in these poofy pink print dresses that she had sewn for school. With a non-crafty mom, I thought they were SOOOO cool, but the girl was active and used to complain about them. It was nothing compared to this and she still rebelled big time in middle school and went full on Goth.

Also, her daughters are eventually going to outgrow the sizes those dresses are offered in. Her sister's oldest is already getting there (but she still makes what appears to be a fifth grader walk around with a giant ass bow on her head). It appears she wears a 10/12 and it's hard to find frou frou dresses like that in sizes larger than a 14.

I suppose that's not as bad as what the girls wear.

I just don't get this impulse to dress like this constantly. I just...why?

My head hurts just looking at how tightly their hair is always pulled.

She needs a hobby that doesn't involve her children.

I'm guessing that since they seem to get a lot from Etsy, they may be able to get larger sizes. Mommy and daughter matching dresses are actually a thing. So she may not have as juvenile a dress as her younger sisters. But I bet she can get a matching dress still.

See, it's things like this that make me think fundies don't even exist. Between this instagram and the Arndts whole life, I'm totally convinced fundies are just people with a twisted sense of humor set on fucking with us.

The mother really makes Abigail out to be a child with a very real anxiety problem. Poor kid.

I've followed her for years, along with quite a few other Pentecostals who are super fancy. I've also found a page for IFB fancy ladies as well. I have a UPC friend who doesn't go this crazy, but it could be geographical.

Ooh I was waiting for a Pentecostal related thread, mainly for educational purposes. Here on the West Coast, Pentecostals are Charismatics and not particularly fundie, but somewhat conservative. Think of Daystar, TBN, etc. Modesty is not emphasized, neither are gender roles, but being a Republican is mandatory. Not a lot of Pentecostal Holiness people (is that the correct term?) out here, but mainly Assembly of God or large non-denom charismatic churches (think Bethel). This Chelsea person seems interesting.

This woman really wants everyone to think none of her daughters has a chance in hell of being, Oh My God...Gay!

Does anyone notice the disconnect between how this woman dresses for photos and the photos of her daughters wearing her(?)high heels?

I can't tell if this woman runs Amy's Little Strippers Club or the School For The Dreadfully Dressed.

Jesus fucking Christ!  This woman is insane, those older girls have some serious traction alopecia going on and the comment about the presumed Hillary supporter is awful.

Anyone seen the Criminal Minds episode where the woman was dressing up grown woman as dolls in similarly hideous outfits and drugging them to keep them still?  She reminds me of that.

If a girl turned up at my kids' school with that sort of bow she'd be told to remove it because it wouldn't be uniform.  "Dressing up" uniforms like that isn't really a thing there (thank FSM, Jesus, Ganesh and Zeus).

I like how Abigail told her mom that Curls weren't allowed in pre K. No wonder the poor kid cries about getting up. She knows her mom is going to pull and contort her hair into painful and stupid looking creations and stuff her into scratchy dresses!

Even Kate Middleton only dresses her kids like that for official photos. Apparently they're dressed in normal clothes for day-to-day. Charlotte's never in a stupid lacy bonnet and only wears one hair clip or simple bow.

Someone mentioned Sara Crewe upthread. Sara was like the ideal child in a way; kind, sweet, caring, never judgmental like whichever girl said that the woman who took the photo was obviously a Hillary supporter.

The bows. I don’t understand the bows. I have sensory issues and could never tolerate some huge bow that’s bigger than my head, much less the Shirley Temple curls on steroids. If I had to dress like that all the time (or any of the time to be honest) I’d be miserable all the time. Team Sweatpants all the way, now and forever, amen.

What the hell does the husband think of this? If Mr Jozina came home to find I'd been dressing the kids up like that and posing them for photos he'd think I'd lost my marbles.  No way would he let me treat our blessings like props who could be made as uncomfortable as I wanted so long as I got my freaky photos.  Crazytown the lot of them.  Those poor children.  I hope they all end up pants wearing socialists.

Well... I like the dresses, but the hair looks painful; given how focused on appearances she is, I'm kind of surprised she's not concerned about their hairlines, or just damaging their hair. And judging from how much she posts... yeah, that's too much floof for everyday life. Once in awhile it might be fun to get dressed up like that. But real life isn't a Disney princess story!

Based on age, I'm wondering if the baby was named Charlotte on purpose... after, oh, say, a real princess...
