She looks so happy, doesn't she, being made to go to the stupid SOTU with that fake pornstar loving husband of hers.

Oh, and shouldn't this be equated with taking the knee?

Someone on Twitter commented on that kid saying, "I can't believe they recast Barron for Season 2" or words to that effect. I thought it was funny.

Melania Trump failed to stand with everyone else when Trump stated:

Melania finds little ways to get back at him. I wonder if they actually ever speak to each other.

The only time I've seen them together other than some kind of formal event photo op, was on 60 minutes. He kept interrupting her and editing her words.

Won't ride to SOU with him, did she have her own little party beforehand without him? I haven't seen much of her there but I did see her with a nice looking Marine. She wore a pantsuit, a jab at him?  And it was white, as in good guys wear white. And she doesn't stand up when he speaks his line about "family".

She's got a resting bitch face that can't be beat but I thought she was happy with the applause she got. She seemed appreciative of it but also a bit sad. And she had the child sitting by her, which I would expect.

Read this one from Daily Mail? Reg. Trumf, anti-abortion speech and old interview w H Stern, where he indirectly says he wanted Tiffany’s mother to have an abortion.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5290905/Trump-asked-Marla-Maples-abort-Tiffany.html

He is also quoted as having told Melania that she could continue her pregnancy only if she could promise him that everything about her body would be exactly the same after giving birth.

I didn't watch or pay any attention to the Grammys but I read somewhere that women wore white pantsuits this year in support of the #metoo movement. Just throwing it out there; I haven't had a chance to verify this. If true, Melania's outfit makes quite the statement. ETA: No, they (the Grammy attendees) did not wear white. They carried white roses. I still think either Melania or her stylist was trying to send a message.

That wasn't Barron next to her. It was the kid who started the flags and flowers on veterans' graves campaign

Speaking of Melania giving birth to their son:

Quote

New York Post columnist Andrea Peyser, who initially endorsed Trump for president, withdrew her support in August 2016 and shared the following anecdote in an article:

When I visited about two months after his lovely wife, Melania, now 46, gave birth to the couple’s son, Barron, now 10, the infamous germaphobe boasted that after fathering five children, he’d never changed a diaper.

I enthused that Melania, who stood quietly nearby aboard 5-inch stilettos, had lost all her baby weight. Trump corrected me: “She’s almost lost all the baby weight.”

I was embarrassed for the mother of his youngest kid, who ignored the dig.

I honestly wonder if she thought he'd only live for another year or two when she married him. :pb_confused:

The speech wasn't really her fault. Someone official wrote it and she was the poor lamb to the slaughter, who had to read it.

The white pant suit? Quite deliberate (IMO). Because Hillary. Melanie knows how to piss him off. Good for her. You go girl.

Or thought she'd just live in her ivory tower with her precious anchor baby until he found someone else and then she go off to some exclusive life with said baby.

Then life slipped her a mickey. I think the most terrifying night of her life was when he got the nomination from the Repubs. Maybe the Hillary plagiarism was her idea. A last-ditch effort.

Just when I am almost too exhausted to deal with more of this along comes Laura Benanti on Colbert. Watching Tuesday or last night's episode and laughing so hard!

I don't see how this is something to be proud of: "Donald Trump would like to remind us that Melania Trump was once in an Aflac commercial"

Spoiler

Melania Trump is known for saying little in public. But in a 2005 commercial she spoke to the world — in the voice of the Aflac insurance spokesduck.

President Trump on Wednesday brought up the fact that his wife had once appeared in a television ad for the insurance giant, something you might have missed (confession: we didn’t remember the spot). Here’s how it resurfaced: Reps for Aflac met with Trump in the Oval Office to laud the recent tax reform legislation. Trump, true to form, made it all about Trump.

“They actually, a long time ago, hired my wife to do a big commercial. You know that, right? An Aflac commercial. And I think it was a successful commercial, too,” Trump said, per the pool report.

So we went to YouTube, and sure enough, there’s the commercial, in all its glory.

Shot in black and white, it’s a spoof on a Bela Lugosi-style vintage horror flick. In the spot, Melania Trump and the Aflac duck are each shown strapped to tables in what is obviously a mad scientist’s laboratory. We will “take the voice of this lovely woman,” the scientist proclaims.

“Mrs. Trump?” his lackey interjects.

“To tell the world about the benefits of Aflac — with sex appeal!” the scientist concludes. Melania Trump and the duck are shot through with old-timey laser-looking things, and then once awake, the duck speaks in the first lady’s accented coo: “If you’re hurt and can’t work, Aflac can help pay your bills with caaash.”

Trump arises and, in the duck’s voice (the one voiced by comic Gilbert Gottfried, before he got fired from the gig for joking about the 2011 Japanese tsunami), barks, “Aflac!”

The spot closes with Trump looking down at her feet to discover that they are webbed.

Melania Trump was a model before she married Donald Trump in 2005, an alliance that boosted her profile and helped her launch her own line of jewelry and skin care products (incorporating caviar, natch), which she hawked on QVC.

SNL had a good Melania sketch. As usual, Kate McKinnon steals the show:

That skit got a LOT of Sunday coverage on cable news shows, plus all the other SNL political skits.

I continue to be pissed about this every day. Ever time I hear him talk about evil chain migration and illegal immigrants I want to yell "Have you met your family?"

But of course for him it's somehow a "different" situation.

Maybe it's a cunning plan to get rid of the inlaws.

When you're President you don't have to settle with merely arguing with the inlaws at family gatherings, you can have them deported.

Perhaps that stolen speech was actually a well-thought-out, passive-aggressive FU to Trump.  Posting a picture of her smiling with that handsome Marine certainly was.  Damn, can't wait for the tell all!

And Melania is a college drop out?  I didn't know that, Ms. Bowers.

I may have to sign up for Twitter just to follow Aunt Crabby, Mutha Hubbard, and Mrs. Betty Bowers.

Hmm, maybe that's what he holds over Melania's head. He probably has the proof that she may not have followed all the rules on her path to citizenship. He can have her deported if she steps too far out of line. It is certainly an interesting game of chess that they play.

And @candygirl200413, it is definitely a white thing but also remember that eastern European "models" are exempt from the rules. OT, glad you survived the parade!
