Melania Trump:Looking for a platform, and a stylist.

(Caught my attention in the post above, but it has caught my attention before).

I realize that high heels are stylish, etc. But - I have noticed that Melania almost always has on exceptionally, extremely high heels. (Look at the position of her feet in the picture). Ordinary people's high heels aren't usually THAT high.

I hope she has a surgeon specializing in feet (and probably also ankles, knees, hips, and spine) on retainer. She will need one soon, if she does not already.

And yes, I would be willing to bet that he chooses her clothing and shoes.

And yes, that is one ugly dress (insignificant in the scheme of things that matter, but...)

And, I'm sorry, who makes an 11 year old wear a tux?

I mean, it's a black tie event and they have the money to afford one, so it makes sense to me.

My nephews (younger than Barron) have been in black tie weddings and their mom had to rent tiny tuxes for them (and yes, it was adorable).

Those do look taller than the standard three inch stilleto. It's interesting too because she's already so tall. I understand that certain outfits and dress lengths aesthetically require a taller heel, I'm tall and wear high heels because of it, but she really wears very tall heels all the time. And it's not like it can be chalked up to being insecure about being short.

I suspect that the requirement for the NYE event for her was "Stand Out." There would have been many women there in gowns so she needed something that screamed "Look at me, I'm FLOTUS, I'm different than you peasants". And she accomplished that. He did probably dictate that but I think day-to-day, he doesn't care what she wears. She seems stuck in three or four "situation" looks. For the we're-going-to-help situations, there she is in her cropped tight pants and a loose blouse, occasionally with sneakers, sometimes flats and for the public part of it, stilettos. Average day sees her in the wide skirt and blouse, with either the flats or the stilettos. Official events, she's usually in some attention-getting dress, bold, with the stilettos. Then we just saw the evening wear. I just made her seem boring and predictable.

I think of stuff that was off like the glittery cocktail dress at his speech to Congress last year or the overpriced couture floral jacket awkwardly draped on her shoulders in very warm weather in Italy last summer. Or this dress which is a day length at an evening black tie event. I think he is not dictating her day to day, but is probably dictating outfits for highly visible events. It also would explain the totally off for the season pastel color palette for the inauguration as well as the not quite on the mark attempt to channel Jackie Kennedy. He probably had a notion that he could have the new "Camelot".

And I wonder if he has a preference for sky high stilettos? It goes with the tone of what we've seen before such as the formal photos of her draped around him like a piece of decor.

I think he probably does. I recall comments being attributed to him from past interviews about the importance of having "a nice piece of ass" on your arm. :pb_rollseyes:

She's getting a bit long in the tooth to qualify for that now. I bet it annoys him to no end that he can't trade her in for a newer model now. Although it wouldn't surprise me if they announced next month that they are divorcing and by summer he'd have moved a 25-year-old into the White House.

My guess is that 12 seconds after he has left the White House, either by choice or not, Melania will be tossed aside for a younger model. Maybe Hope Hicks?

I don't think it's happening with him and Hopey. She's no conquest. They've know each other for, what, five or six years? She steams his crotch so he sees her as a domestic. She just knows where the bodies are buried. Bet he'd like to know what she really told Mueller, though.

Found it! (at least one of the times he said something similarly repulsive)

Quote

Trump: “You really want to know what I consider ideal company?”

Me: “Yes.”

Trump: “A total piece of ass.”

So presidential!

  • 3 weeks later...

I'm going to drop this comment right here. In this thread.

I've seen Justin Timberlake on TV this morning. Talking about the whole Super Bowl half-time debacle with Janet Jackson. It reminded me of that whole event. The Republicans in Congress practically lost their minds. Our government came to a screeching halt. CBS was declared a porn network. All because we saw Janet Jackson's nipple.

Like I said, leaving this right here. Oh, how far we've come.

I'll bet that was the highlight of her year! Wonder if she asked for his number.

I hope she did!  The military guy's younger and trimmer, and probably has a wash-n-go hairstyle underneath his hat.

Yeah, I recall that moment as one of the few times that a smile truly reached her eyes.

Also, that's a great passive aggressive dig at her husband.

Plans have changed and Melania isn't going to Davos, Switzerland (World Economic Forum) with Dumpy.  Y'all aren't the only ones to notice that Mel posted a smiling pic of herself on the arm of a hunky guy in uniform on the anniversary of her husband's first day in office, and didn't bother to mention him.

She hasn't made a public statement since Jan. 12, the day the $130,000 payoff made the news.

She's hanging in there for the sake of her son, I think.  She'll be gone the minute he heads off for college (or sooner).  What's sad to me is that Barron is at an age where he can't be screened from all of this. He'll stumble across it somewhere, or get teased at school, or his cousins will tell him.

Melania, that dress does nothing for you. if you really want sequins for NYE, why not go for a full length, one shouldered gown in a solid red that accentuates your height and trim figure?

I don't think that dress would do much for anyone - It's just ugly imo. Of course, what do I know? I'm not an expert on designers or the latest trends, but I prefer solid colors on just about everyone and I always thought Princess Diana looked stunning!

I just want to point out that if Barron continues growing at the current rate, he'll be about 12 or 13 when he's looking at his dad eye to eye; he's only 11 now and he's almost as tall as Melania, who is 5'11".

I do wonder sometimes where she is. I mean we only see her once in a blue moon and I think she's NOT of the wifey-stands-by-her-cheatin'-hubby school. She refuses to be humiliated in public. She's stuck now with Barrron in school but I wouldn't be surprised if they announce in the summer that Barron "needs" to go back to his school in New York.

Apparently their anniversary was on Monday.

Yeah, I don't think they had a particularly happy anniversary. Strange that with all his compulsive twittering that he couldn't take the time to throw out a "...my wonderful wife of 13 years..." tweet. Melania probably asked for a girl's getaway this year. In a foreign country. Just her and the SS guy of her choice.
