In three years he will be 30. I wonder if he will still be taking five million pictures of himself preening.

Sadie isn't dating dating Candice Cameron Burre's son? Wasn't that happening?

Sadie was never dating him that was her younger sister, Bella.

I wonder what Lawson thinks of his life?  He's 27, and he's been pushing the 'godly young man" angle, but how successful is his music career?  Of all the Bateses, he seems to want to be famous, and he's allowed all kinds of freedoms his siblings aren't (that modeling shoot!) but it feels like he's not progressing.  Is it because he's trying and failing, or his "freedoms" are only relative, and there are limits to what he can do, living at home?  Or is it exactly what he wants?  It's so weird that he's one of the most prolific on social media, but it seems like it's all surface.

I think Lawson is probably a lot like Raquel. She wanted fame as a writer yet didn't want to really do anything that would put her in the path of criticism. She quit college after one creative writing class. Her writing career went nowhere. Lawson has been searching for fame since he was a teen. Without the family television show I doubt he would even have the little music career he has. I don't see Lawson as one who would be willing to sit through a lot of training or even lots of constructive criticism. The hot virgin for God singing country songs thing isn't going to last much longer. He started out preening for the camera and now he is almost 30 and that is still most of what he does. Family/IBLP money probably helps pay for his non-stop vacation life, but that is going to dry up.

As someone who is 26 next week and the same age as Lawson, it hurts to hear we're almost 30, lol! But agree on the comparison with Raquel. I can't imagine him taking real constructive criticism from people in the music industry.

Oh Lawson, falling in love with your horse, and your own reflection, doesn't count

Has anyone seen the music video Sadie was in after she was Lawson’s? It is called “The Long Way Around” and is by an actual country music star, Brett Eldridge. He cast her without meeting her because he liked her social media. I personally find it creepy because he is in his 30’s and she still looks like a teenager but they definitely come across more as adults than Lawson’s video. They embrace, dance, hold hands, and he kisses her on the top of the head - it was shot the day they met and they supposedly became instant friends.  His fans all assumed they were dating...a) I don’t see Lawson getting past that and b) I don’t think she has ever been interested in him anyway.

The Duck people are very Christian but they're not fundie. I doubt Sadie or any of the other girls would date a guy like Lawson. They might pray before dinner but they're not crazy courtship people either. And yes I used to watch the show. I liked the stupidity of it. As a Yank, it amused me. There's no crocs or snakes or duck hunting in NYC lol

Shouldn't Lawson and his bros be posing in the midst of Hurricane Florence debris somewhere right now??? They do love them some disaster porn.

Especially if it means getting wet and muddy so the fundy maidens will get all hot and bothered.

The Duck Dynasty crowd does have some fundish leanings, at the least some unpleasant beliefs. They are just a lot more mainstream than the Duggars. Various family members have appeared in those hot messes of persecution porn "God's Not Dead" movies, along with Willie Robertson enthusiastically endorsing Donald Trump. There was the contraversial interview with GQ where Phil Robertson compared homosexuality to beastiality. Would they ever date a Duggar? No, they disagree on a lot of "style" issues relating to dancing, modesty, and pursuing higher education.

Since the Bates become more mainstream every day that passes, i dont think the diferences are that big anymore. And for a "good marriage" i see them trowing to the trash the last modesty rules that remain lol

Oh yes the Bates are basically worldly fundies now what with Lawson singing that "heathen" country music and all. I think the Duck Dynasty clan is more worldly fundie than we maybe realize. A Duggar I still think would be unlikely match for the Roberts clan. I mean Jeremy still has to cover his tatoos, and Jessa can't honestly admit that yes some Duggar women now wear pants.

I think Lawson would love to be Luke Bryan/Blake Shelton level famous, but doesn't have the drive to put in the work needed to achieve that. I think after he basically worked his butt off to support his family as a teenager, he is happy to just kinda "cruise by" right now. He is famous enough to have some leg humpers that boost his ego and give him 100k+ Instagram followers, but he doesn't have to work that hard for it and has plenty of time to ride his horse and take selfies.

you know what i did like? There's a clip online, at least, from the last BuB episode when they ask the single big Bates boys about proposal. Nathan's being douchey Nathan and going on about how he'd do great and *hey, if they don't say yes, that just means ya do it again* and "be persistent"......and Lawson side-comments stage-whisper-style "if she says no JUST WALK AWAY".

i'm sure Lawson didn't really mean it this way and is just as fundie sexist as the rest....but no means no. Love to hate on Lawson and his cringey BS life....but man Nathan makes himself look worse and worse...

Ya, I'm with you on this one.  I've generally been pretty 'whatever' when it comes to the guys but between Nathan's comments about Tori's wedding hair and this kinda creepy/ kinda "ID channel episode waiting to happen" statement, he's quickly falling to the bottom of the dog pile for me.

There have been a few times Lawson has corrected/disagreed with Nathan when it comes to interactions with women. Nathan can't even hide what a douche he is, no wonder Ashley ran for the hills.

I think Lawson has had more interaction with women outside the cult than Nathan has.  And even within the cult, Nathan can't get a girl.

Lawson has had enough social interactions to realize you can't be so openly controlling and misogynistic and have people still think you are a nice person. Nathan lets the hate be obvious, and that is going to be a turn off for even fundie gals.
