What a complete f**king asshole; he pisses me off.  I honestly don't know what I'd do if I ever saw him in public.

I overheard a conversation at the gym on Thursday -- a guy was describing how he was cut off in traffic by a very aggressive Alex Jones driving a brand new Corvette.

Anyway, Alex is in the news again, Alex Jones Offers $1M Reward After Alleged ‘Malware’ Attack That He Says Planted Child Porn on His Servers   And of course, this was done by those awful Sandy Hook parents.

it's being investigated by the FBI who will pretty quickly figure out if it got there via a hack installing malware or if "THE SIGNALS ARE COMING FROM INSIDE THE HOUSE!"

This is also a good time to revisit that glorious moment when  Alex Jones was trying to show his viewing audience something on the screen of his phone and accidentally outed  himself as having trans porn on it.  INFOWARS' ALEX JONES APPEARED TO BE VIEWING TRANSGENDER MARISSA MINX PORNOGRAPHY WHILE FILMING PERSONAL WELLNESS SEGMENT

Some more bad news for Alex Jones and his groupies

Quote

The father of a victim of the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre has won a defamation lawsuit against the authors of a book that claimed the shooting never happened — the latest victory for victims' relatives who have been taking a more aggressive stance against conspiracy theorists.

The book, "Nobody Died at Sandy Hook," has also been pulled from shelves to settle claims against its publisher filed by Lenny Pozner, whose 6-year-old son Noah was killed in the shooting.

A Wisconsin judge issued a summary judgment Monday against authors James Fetzer and Mike Palacek, a ruling that was separate from the settlement between Pozner and the book's publisher. A trial to decide damages has been set for October.

Pozner has been pushing back for years against hoaxers who have harassed him, subjected him to death threats and claimed that he was an actor and his son never existed. He has spent years getting Facebook and others to remove conspiracy videos and set up a website to debunk conspiracy theories.

Fuck Jones and fuck all the fuck sticks claiming Sandy Hook was fake or staged.

The Alex Jones child porn thing seems to be misunderstood.  Jones' lawyers sent a huge tranche of emails to the lawyers of the Sandy Hook families who are suing him.   Jones' lawyers did not review all (any?) of the emails before sending them off to the opposing team's lawyers -- yes, idiotic.

The emails containing child porn were sent to Info Wars but there's no evidence they were opened and may have been caught in spam filters.  My understanding is that they have been turned over to FBI who will pretty quickly figure out the situation.

In other news, Jones' latest on-screen meltdown yesterday and threat (by name) to one of the Sandy Hook families' lawyers has earned Jones financial and procedural sanctions from the judge in the case.

Alex Jones hit with sanctions by judge in Sandy Hook lawsuit as case gets a proposed trial date

Quote

[Judge] Bellis called Jones' behavior on the broadcast "indefensible," "unconscionable," and "possibly criminal behavior."

[Judge] Bellis sanctioned Jones by denying the defense the opportunity to pursue special motions to dismiss moving forward in the lawsuit. The court will also award attorneys fees and filing fees to the Sandy Hook families' lawyers related to the issue that Jones went off about in his broadcast: child pornography that Jones' team inadvertently turned over to the plaintiffs.

And in more happy news, Jones has taken a huge financial hit after being deplatformed on social media.  Apparently all his money comes from the crap (mostly nutritional supplements) that he flogs on his show.

"Infowars returned to YouTube. It lasted less than a day."

Spoiler

Far-right outlet Infowars made a short-lived return to YouTube on Thursday after its banishment last year, briefly illustrating social media’s struggle to remove rule-breaking content while still maintaining a forum for free expression.

A new channel called the War Room, the name of Infowars’ afternoon program, surfaced for a few hours and started posting videos. Alex Jones, the founder of the outlet known for spreading conspiracy theories and baseless information, was banned from YouTube and numerous other sites in 2018 after policy violations including posting hate speech and violent content. He had multiple channels on the site.

The relaunch of the channel coincided with a blog post earlier this week by YouTube’s chief executive, Susan Wojcicki. In the blog post, Wojcicki called for allowing some controversial content to remain on YouTube in the interest of fostering a more informed society.

“It sometimes means leaving up content that is outside the mainstream, controversial or even offensive,” wrote Wojcicki. “But I believe that hearing a broad range of perspectives ultimately makes us a stronger and more informed society, even if we disagree with some of those views.”

Infowars did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The first video uploaded to the channel was available for about 17 hours, according to Vice, which first reported the news. Thirteen videos were uploaded before the channel was removed. Vice said one of the videos was titled, “Breaking! YouTube CEO says ‘Alex Jones’ and ‘Infowars Ban Is Over.’ ” Wojcicki’s letter did not mention Infowars or Jones.

In a statement, YouTube spokeswoman Ivy Choi said the company is “committed to preserving openness and balancing it with our responsibility to protect our community.” Choi said YouTube removed the Infowars-backed account and channel for violating its terms of service, specifically for circumventing its policies by creating another YouTube channel after its banishment.

Social media companies in recent years have struggled to balance free speech with policing hate, footage of violent crimes and other problematic content on their sites. They’ve instituted new rules and banned a number of controversial figures from their platforms. They’ve also hired thousands of contractors around the world to review and delete violent or offensive content, something that introduces its own problems, including the psychological toll on the contractors.

Still, policy violating content gets through, illustrated recently by grisly video recorded by the alleged perpetrator of March’s bloody massacres at two New Zealand mosques played out on YouTube and other social media.

Google-owned YouTube, the world’s largest video platform with about 2 billion people logging in monthly, in particular has faced fierce backlash from critics who say it is enabling hateful and inappropriate content to proliferate. With each crisis, YouTube has raced to update its guidelines for which types of content are allowed. But it has lagged Facebook and Twitter in hiring moderators and has faced criticism over apparent double standards when it comes to moderating content from its biggest stars.

Still, it has worked to strengthen its approach, including broadening its view of hate speech in its policies in June, specifically banning videos that espouse racial supremacy or discrimination. Choi said YouTube counts on users to flag content that violates the company’s guidelines, and that the company removed 8.3 million videos in the first quarter of this year alone.

YouTube banned Jones in 2018, long before the company implemented its new policy. Jones is well known for, among other things, espousing conspiracy theories about the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting that led survivors and their families to be harassed and threatened. YouTube, along with Apple and Facebook, told news outlets at the time that Jones was banned for repeated community standards violations. Jones, in turn, accused the companies of censorship.

While having a “robust community” is a laudable goal for YouTube, the company’s actions Thursday show that “platforms continue to be naive about how bad actors will exploit their words,” said Angelo Carusone, president of liberal media watchdog group Media Matters for America.

This is a very horrible rabbit hole I fell into indirectly. I discovered The Knowledge Fight podcast hosted by Dan and Jordan which does a really decent job of going through and discussing Jones's daily episodes, as well as back episodes. This is super interesting as they have been revisiting the episodes of Info Wars recorded after the tragedies at Sandy Hook and the Boston Marathon bombing. Dan does very thorough (and I think intelligent) analysis. An added benefit is you don't have to sink personally into the sh!t storm. The final bonus is that Dan also has an absolutely beautiful voice!

I don't understand Jones, or how people can bear to listen to him. As with that creep Yiannopolous, I'm awfully glad he's had most of his social media teeth pulled after being taken off FB and YouTube and Twitter etc.

Some good news out of Texas

Quote

A Texas judge has ordered Alex Jones and his InfoWars hoax website to pay more than $100,000 in court costs and legal fees, marking the latest court victory for a Sandy Hook family suing Jones for his promotion of conspiracy theories about the 2012 shooting.

Jones and InfoWars are being sued by Neil Heslin, whose six-year-old son was killed in the Newtown, CT shooting. On Dec. 20, Travis County Judge Scott Jenkins granted a motion for sanctions and legal expenses against Jones and InfoWars, ordering them to pay $65,825 for ignoring a court order about providing documents and witnesses. In another ruling issued that same day in Heslin’s case, Jenkins denied an InfoWars motion to dismiss the case and ordered Jones and InfoWars to pay an additional $34,323.80, for a combined total of $100,148.80 levied against Jones and InfoWars in a single day.

Added to an earlier October order against InfoWars, Jones and his outlet have been ordered to pay $126,023.80 over the case, even before it reaches trial.

“It’s hardly a surprise that someone like Alex Jones would soon find himself in contempt of court, but now he is learning there are severe consequences to his utter disrespect for this process,” Mark Bankston, one of Heslin’s attorneys, said in an email to The Daily Beast.

Couldn’t happen to a more deserving fuck stick.

One of Jones's buddies got nailed in Florida

Quote

A Florida man who is the ringleader of a group that has hounded the families of victims of the Sandy Hook school shooting was arrested early Monday morning by sheriffs and charged with unlawful possession of personal identification of another person.

Wolfgang Halbig has spent years trying to show the shooting was a hoax and that the 20 children who died were actually actors -- as recently as the last few weeks he posted photos of children that he claimed were actually current photos of the victims. Halbig was arrested at 1:39 a.m. at his Sorrento, Florida home, according to the police report.

Halbig is accused of publishing and circulating Pozner’s personal information including his social security number and home address. Pozner has moved several times since leaving Connecticut after the shooting.

Halbig is also a defendant in the civil lawsuit filed by Sandy Hook victims families against Alex Jones, the host of the Infowars internet radio program. The families are suing Jones for claiming the attack on Sandy Hook Elementary School that claimed the lives of 20 first graders and six educators was a hoax, and argue that he profited by spreading the hoax claim.

Fuck this guy.

I hope he gets taken to the cleaners and has to spend the rest of his worthless life in prison.

I think he's already made bail. Or paid a bond or something and is out again. This guy is a complete PoS. I heard of him through Knowledge Fight, when the boys did some of their way back episodes and I can't believe the level of assholery of this creep. What kind of sick f___ thinks the parents of dead children owe him ANYTHING? It is totally beyond the bounds of decency that people like Wolfgang Halfdick have gotten away with harassing and abusing the survivors and families of victims for so long. It makes me want to rage scream.

Busted!

Quote

Prominent right-wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones was arrested early Tuesday morning on charges of driving while intoxicated, according to law enforcement.

Jones, who as host of the Austin-based InfoWars conspiracy theory outlet has become a prominent force on the fringe right, was arrested on a class-B misdemeanor DWI charge, according to a spokeswoman for the Travis County sheriff’s department. Jones was booked into the Travis County Jail in Austin at 12:37 AM, and released on bond at 4:11 AM.

InfoWars didn’t respond to a request for comment. An article on the InfoWars website claimed that Jones was “caught up in a Travis Co. DWI dragnet” after being pulled over for speeding. In the story, Jones said he had been “drinking a small amount of sake at a Japanese restaurant.”

But an arrest affidavit filed in court paints a different picture. According to the report, Jones’ wife called the sheriff’s department on Monday night to report a “family disturbance” between her and Jones. Jones’ wife added that he had possibly been drinking, according to the report.

Excuse me for a moment....

Alex can’t accept the slightest bit of personal responsibility

Quote

Alex Jones Arrested for DWI, Responds in Rant and Says 'Restaurants Should Not Be Allowed to Sell Alcohol

"I'm not saying conspiracy here, not saying the police are at to get me at the local level," Jones said. "But, still, the level they had was below the law ... so there you go."

He continued: "The alcohol limit used to be three times of what it is now ... Here's the thing: Restaurants should not be allowed to sell alcohol if these laws continue. You shouldn't be able to serve somebody a beer if they drink that 16 ounce beer and walk out, they're gonna go to jail. So I call for all restaurants and bars to be shut down. Seriously. Because you can't go in one, have two beers, and then not go to jail. So hey, I'm ready for the mainstream attention."

Just own up to it Alex instead of being a fucking idiot.

Alex Jones, a conspiracy theorist and repeated loser of court battles, was ordered Wednesday to pay more than $20,000 in attorney fees after losing another appeal in a defamation case related to the 2012 mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. He now owes nearly $150,000 in legal fees before he even faces a jury.

Of course it would have been enough to just call him a loser because it's the absolute goddamn truth.

Cue up the latest ragegasm now...

Quote

On Friday, Google removed the Infowars Android app from its Play Store, extinguishing one of the last mainstream strongholds of infamous conspiracy theorist Alex Jones. The takedown comes on the heels of a video, posted in the Infowars app last week and viewed by WIRED, in which Jones disputed the need for social distancing, shelter in place, and quarantine efforts meant to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus.

Google confirmed to WIRED that it removed the app on Friday. The app had more than 100,000 downloads according to Google Play's published metrics, and was rated "E10+," meaning safe for all users 10 and older. The Infowars app sold products like supplements and protein powder, broadcast The Alex Jones Show live, and posted videos and articles from Jones and others.

"Now more than ever, combating misinformation on the Play Store is a top priority for the team," a Google spokesperson told WIRED. "When we find apps that violate Play policy by distributing misleading or harmful information, we remove them from the store."

Alex Jones and Infowars did not immediately respond to a request for comment. In the video in question, Jones said that "everybody dies under the new world order except maybe one tenth of one percent that believe they're going to merge with machines and have made deals with this inter-dimensional thing that gave them all the technology ... You can't make a deal with these aliens, OK, that the Bible tells you about and ever get off the planet." Elsewhere in the video, Jones claims that natural antivirals exist to treat the novel coronavirus.

Nice of Google to do that but seriously what the fuck took so long?

I think Alex needs supervision when he uses the Internet. He's far too gullible to be trusted to use it on his own.
