I Just Can't Stand Josh Duggar

I wish Anna would give him a smack along side the head. He acts so righteous and entitled. My niece saw them in the airport and she said that here is Anna with the two babies dragging them along while Josh was walking in front of Anna with this smug look on his face wanting everyone to notice the Dugger Circus passing by. She said Anna looked exhausted and unhappy. I wonder who runs Josh's business when they are on the road? He must be keeping it afloat with money they get from TLC when Anna pops one out of the oven. At the rate Josh is going he should be a millionaire soon if he keeps knocking up Anna. Can you imagine him making love to anyone. OMG I don't even want to go there thinking of that.

My guess is, the other Josh who is apparently a long time friend, runs the business when Josh is doing the Duggar dance. As for him as a person? I hate judging people I've never met but I always feel like kicking him. In a "you just said the STUPIDEST thing I have ever had the pleasure of hearing" way.

Anna would be well advised to have a series of "headaches" until Josh gets his act together and starts behaving like a decent human being.

Oh what am I thinking...it will never happen.

Josh is probably the least liked Duggar. I think many viewers can't stand him. I have seen Duggar fans even say that they don't care much for Josh. I'm not surprised Josh acted like that an airport. He could have least carried one of his kids. As for Josh's car lots, I think he probably loses business due to the show.

You guys, they took a vow that Anna will be under his authority, which in Josh's world, means "I can sit around and do nothing, while you do everything else because I work extremely hard at my 10am but really 12:30pm to 5pm but really 4:59pm job." Technically, she has to haul two children around while he Smuggars around.

Note to self: give boyfriend a huge hug and kiss when he comes over after work to thank him for not being a Smuggar.

But he also probably gets some business he wouldn't otherwise get because of the show. So the show probably doesn't make that much of a difference either way. Of course, if he was smart he would make the show work to his advantage by making himself seem like a hardworking, dynamic person. Then again, if he was actually capable of being or pretending to be a hardworking, dynamic person, he probably wouldn't really care to have every little detail of his life out for all the world to see.

Josh is the embodiment of the lies Jim Bob and Michelle tell about teaching their children to have "servant's hearts."

When he said something about being there for labor, my thought was, "No you weren't, you were asleep during most of it, you moron!"

I wonder if Josh's business just closes when he's not around. I don't think he gets much business at all, and I suspect the whole thing is just a front to make him look like he has a job when he really just lives off TLC's and Daddy's money. I don't think he's losing much business at all by simply not being there. Maybe someone does cover for him, but I doubt they're doing anything more than sitting around bored because it's a small lot that is only open while most people are at work and has a pretty bad selection. I would be surprised if he sells more than a few cars a week and goes plenty of days with no business at all, especially weekdays.

I concur. He makes me nauseated to the point that I want to see his face just so I can spew on it. Anna probably is his "help" more than his wife. :obscene-birdiedoublered:

I love the bird flipping smiley. Reminds me of the time that I shot Chuckie Cheese the mouse the one digit solute at a birthday party.

I kind of hope not. He has his friend as an employee. He is also supporting a family. I'd imagine if they don't sell cars, he doesn't get paid. He seemed nice the couple of times he was on the show.

Interesting insight. They might claim that Joshie wasn't reared entirely under Gothard rules, so that's why he's a tad "sin in the camp." More to the point, it must be difficult to be both the oldest son and the oldest child, especially when the next two were twins and then a bunch of girls. Josh has never had a sibling pal, and at the same time, had to bear the burden of being the first male.

He's still an ass, however.

I wonder if he regrets getting married so fast and young. I know we always talk about Anna and if she may have regrets but I wonder what ol' Joshie thinks now.

I wonder that too. He probably has it pretty good right now. He get's TLC checks, is the boss of his own car lot, and has Anna to do all the domestic and icky stuff for him. However, he may have regrets that we don't see. I do have occasional bouts of sympathy for Anna though.

I always wondered if Smuggar gets a 'double portion' of whatever inheritance Boob and Mullet leave behind. You know, for being the oldest and having a penis...

I don't know if Boob and J'Chelle MADE smuggar the way he is but IMO they definitely haven't helped solve it either.

He probably inherited JimBoob's Head Up Ass Syndrome, combined with originally not being raised in ATI and then finding that ATI served him very well.

I just watched the most recent show yesterday and Anna seemed very happy to me. Viewers may not like Josh much, but Anna does, at least from what I have seen on the show. Remember how they were raised; Josh's behavior might be expected in their world. Perhaps Anna knew what she was getting into when she married him. He might not be that bad when one considers possible alternatives...a Botkin, anyone remotely related to Doug, one of Jonathan Lindvall's sons, a Maxwell...you get the idea. Josh looks pretty good when I think of being married to some of those guys.

She came off as a total phony to me.

The Duggars have always struck me as one of the most intellectually empty families out there.

Given their class background and the part of the country they live in, if they weren't ATI and on teh teebee, Smuggar would be the kind of guy who drives a forklift for a living and drinks away his entire paycheck in beer at the local watering hole every weekend.

If they came from a slightly higher social class, Smuggar would totally be in a frat right now torturing freshmen, cheating on assignments, and date-raping women.

In summary, Smuggar is the kind of douchebag that all women everywhere throughout time have had to deal with.

I about fell on the floor when I was watching Tuesday night's episode- the second one. They were talking about how much Michael weighed and then Josh said he weighed XXXX ozs. and that he was real healthy. When Anna said something like "yeah, he's healthy. maybe a little too healthy..." I almost spit out soda. And the look that Josh gave when she said that was so priceless- I almost want to give a little kudos to the camera man for zooming in on his face right then.

i couldn't believe she said that- especially on camera where the world can see her not lavishing him with praise. To me, he looked almost pissed at her. Did anyone else think that or was I seeing things? I was also wondering why she thought she wouldn't be married by the time she was 23 when she was younger. Why not? Is there something else she wanted to do first before leaving her parents camper? It got me thinking that maybe she thought she was going to have a different life than the one she had with her parents- maybe more like her sister that broke away from IBLP. I'm not a fan of Jim Bob at all, but you can tell that he really loves Michelle. And with Josh, all I see is "I'm the husband, you're under my control so you will have another baby and make me my chicken'etti now, woman." Anna could have done so much better- maybe not in terms of money or trips, etc., but with finding a real partner to share her life with.

It's hard for me to know for sure, but it seems like in the fundie world the Duggars and Anna's parents inhabit, the choice of husbands is fairly limited for young women. If you, as a young fundie woman under the "Headship" of your father, end up married to a guy who doesn't knock you up every year, treats you common courtesy now and then, and puts a roof over your head, you're pretty lucky. Bonus points if you get to drive around in a gas-guzzling Hummer and be on tee vee!
