I know that Inquisitr decided Michelle's bitterness blog was about Jeremy & Derek, but I wonder if it was aimed at Josh?

I highly doubt it was aimed at either. Boob and Ofboob would do absolutely anything to focus attention on how lovely and perfect things are and not their real problems. Granted, this blog was about bitterness, so a negative topic, but I would guess in their dumb fundie brain they thought they could distract people by focusing on not being bitter about doing laundry or something dumb.

From the article about Josh's intervention being dropped:

Quote

The suit asks a judge to order In Touch to hand over profit it made by commercially exploiting the situation and order them to stop publishing the identifying information.

Re the bolded: hasn't that horse long since bolted?  And isn't filing the lawsuit even more blatantly identifying?

They're doing it for future victims.  It's not about the money! I'm sure they'll donate that if they win.

Feel free to add as much sarcasm as needed ;).

Indeed.  Not only dumb and desperate but joining the lawsuit puts his sins back out in the public eye again.     Of course, the sisters filing does the same thing but there's something particularly wtf about a perpetrator claiming the same adverse impact from his crimes as his victims.

Suspect it was a Hail Mary attempt as others here have mentioned to see if he could get money because at this point, his job prospects are shot, he's dependent on JB and still has to support an ever growing (Anna what the hell are you thinking?) family.  One would think he would want to hide this away as much as possible, but hey, when it comes to getting money,  this family will do anything for the Almighty Dollar.

This is off topic, but my friend got five expansion packs to "Cards Against Humanity" for his birthday recently (its exactly like "Apples to Apples", except all the cards have awful things written on them), and the expansion packs came with a bunch of blank answer cards, and question cards, that you can write whatever you want on. Naturally, my husband and our two other good friends wrote Duggar-related stuff on most of the blank cards :pb_lol:

A few of the question cards we made included:

1. What else is Josh Duggar hiding?

(Best played answers: tie between "Exactly what you'd expect" and "Butt stuff")

2. Did you hear the latest Duggar scandal? Jim-Bob was caught with_____

(Best played answers: Tied between "The entire Morman Tabernacle Choir" and "Tentacle porn")

3. Jim-Bob and Michelle advise all good Christians to forego_____on Sundays.

(Best played answer: "Holding down a child and farting all over him.")

The answer cards we made included:

1. "Josh Duggar's undisclosed victims."

2. "Derrick Dillard as Pistol Pete"

3. "Giving birth on a toilet"

4. "Jim-Bob's tax shelters"

One of the question cards when we got together the other night was, "______wouldn't be the same without______," and in response, one of my friends played, the "Getting pregnant AGAIN" card with the "giving birth on a toilet" card ("Getting pregnant AGAIN wouldn't be the same without giving birth in a toilet." :pb_lol:)

So I picked up a new true crime yesterday at the thrift store: Widow's Web by Gene Lyons. It's set in Little Rock, and today when I read the introduction some parts stood out to me. It was published in 1993, but I'm sure a lot of it is still true. I immediately thought of the Duggars and how their ways are influenced by Arkansas as well as their religion (pardon my sneakers).

I grew up hearing "Thank God for Mississippi" from ALL my family members. And also that Arkansas could stand alone, without outside help from all other states.

:laughing-rolling:  That's awesome. I think you have a potential product idea here: "Cards Against the Patriarchy" :pb_lol:

I know we've beaten this to death, but are we sure that Jinger was in charge of laundry when they were in the rental house?

Watch this:

It seems like Jill is in charge of laundry.

Joy was so little and cute in that video~ and Jill and Jessa still have the exact same voices.

I think Jessa's voice has gotten deeper. She sounds like she's huffing helium in that clip. :D

One of the boys mentioned laundry too. Maybe he meant he cleans the laundry room? It's certainly possible that Jill was the laundry victim... but she did identify herself as having been asleep during her assault. I also remember that one sleeping victim had a much shorter name redacted than Jinger or Jessa's names - it looked closer to being four letters long (in the Washington County report.) Based off that, and the interests listed for each victim, I'm sticking with Jinger being the laundry victim.

As for the video...

- JimBob and Michelle seemed almost normal to how they are now.

- The kids were all SO young. And to think those police reports hadn't even been made when that was filmed... and then I realized Joy had been assaulted about 1.5 years before...

- Jill lifting Joy up to help with laundry and the look Joy gave her... That is the type of look a little kid gives their mother. I don't know why that short little scene was so heartbreaking to me.

Same - the way they interacted was parent-child, not sisters.  So sad for both of them.

I raised my eyebrows at Jana cleaning the parental bedroom, because wow, did Michelle do nothing?  And that schooling session, so weird to see her teaching the same subject to kids so many years apart.  I don't get that at all, except for it makes her life easier (or being for the cameras), but surely that approach is useless to pretty much everyone?

Those Wisdom Booklets were certainly not adequate to teach anything to those kids. How do you approach the same subject with kids so varied in age? Well, in a one room schoolhouse, the teacher set the tasks to individuals or groups which matched age and skill level. And WHY the Fuck does a kid have to learn about bankruptcy any way?

With the voices etc, I caved and watched the TLC video of Joy's wedding (I know, straight to prayer closet, do not pass go, do not collect 200). Our computer's acting up so it's playing everything super-slow. Michelle's voice kinda came out human - not a million miles from Jessa's. ...we've solved it - they've been playing her on 28 all these years and she's a 33!

Sorry if this is off-topic:

I'm currently studying for the Bar and after reviewing the privacy torts and newsworthiness exception, I don't think the girls have a case.  But we'll see what happens!

"Now Joy, bankrupcy doesn't mean you go to the bank and you're... you're at a bank."

Such learning, very teach, wow!

Also, one of the boys said his jurisdiction was the boys bathroom. Which must be a lie, because Jessa said she LOVES!!!11!1!11! cleaning because it's FUN!!!1!1! to help out. Except when she has to clean around the boys toilet. Why oh why was that poor little girl responsible for cleaning around a toilet that several little boys probably missed. This actually made me really sad for her.

Smash the patriarchy!

Also- I was thinking last night, if they ever actually read here (as opposed to TLC reading here and basing story lines off our criticisms), what is the one thing I would want them to know, or to learn, or to take away from finding FJ?

It's not your fault. Not the physical abuse endured, not the verbal abuse you've likely been subjected to, not the cheating. You are not to blame for that.

(But, it will be your fault if you raise your daughters thinking that they would be to blame for any male transgressions, or for raising your sons to be entitled, patriarchal douche-canoes).

Everyone looks SO different in that video! Maybe it's just my streaming quality but I'm not sure I could have guessed who was who based off photos alone. I can't help but wonder if they'd all look similar now (frumpy dresses, less tamed hair, etc) without TLC money or if they would have eventually modernized anyway.

I totally agree! I'm guessing they wouldn't have such crazy glow-ups without tlc assistance...they look so different!

I like how Jana looked down and said she cleaned the parent's bedroom. She looked like she's seen some S**t.
