I'm gutted. I'm a 90s grunge kid to my flannel-wearing, leggings-under-shorts soul. Soundgarden, Pearl Jam and Nirvana were the artists that got me through high school, Soundgarden especially. In my circle of friends, I don't think you can find one of us who can't still bellow a few lines from Hunger Strike out of muscle memory and sheer fond nostalgia.

I was never a big Soundgarden fan, but I appreciate Chris's talents. I heard a few clips of him being interviewed in the past on Howard Stern this morning, plus they played a few audio clips of him singing acoustically, too.

Very sad. Depression is no joke.

RIP, Chris.
