I think her outfit is cute, but I don't like jewellery on toddlers. It just too adultlike IMHO.

I hate the shoes. These are cute shoes, but too big for her! babies and toddlers need shoes that fit perfectly. It's very important to purchase the correct size of shoes for little kids. I'm guessing these were a gift or Whit chase them just because she just liked them no matter the size.

The headband makes you notice even more that her hair looks weird. I think her is just in that awkward can't do anything with it phase but the headband doesn't help

I had no idea you could even BUY jewelry for babies before Whitney started putting it on KL. Except for those teething ones.

It was all new for me too. Whitney is all about accessorizing even for KL.

I used to work in the jewelry section of a department store and we had a whole case of baby jewelry. Earrings with screw-on backs so they wouldn't fall out, tiny bracelets with locking clasps, etc. Crazy to me. I think in the three years I worked there one person bought a baby bracelet and that was it.

I figured stores would sell earrings. I know pierced ears are important or seen more in certain cultures, so it makes sense that stores would sell those since there's a market for it. But I had zero clue that stores would sell actual jewelry (necklaces, bracelets...) for babies. Like you guys, Whit introduced me to that concept too.

One of my step grandma's wore jewelry from a very young age.  I once saw a picture of her and she was only a few months old and wearing a ring.  I asked my mom about it and she told me that Grandma had a ring put on her finger when she was only a few weeks old and always wore jewelry.  There are few pictures of her growing up, but she always had a ring, and as she got older earrings, then bracelets and necklaces were added.  She never had a lot, but it was all said to be a good quality.

Funny thing is, Grandma's mother was a farm wife with little extra money to spend; and Grandma also married a farmer.  They were poor much of their married life, yet Grandma always had at least one piece of jewelry on.  It was how she was raised.  I always wondered if she was sad she never had a daughter of her own.

My grandmother had a bracelet and a few other pieces of jewelry for me when I was a toddler. I was a little older than Kaci Lynn though and pretty sure I only wore them for things like church or professional photos. She loved jewelry and kept the pieces she had for me when I grew out of them. It's kind of sweet now see how small they are and they're special because she got them for me.

Wychling got a gold bangle bracelet when she was a baby from Grampwych's side of the family, along with a pair of gold ear studs.  Cultural thing.

I never knew I had jewelery as a baby until my great grandma showed me a set of a gold bracelet and necklace where all the links had little cut out elephants on them. She originally gave it to me when I was about a year old, let me wear it a couple of times on special occasions and then kept it for me until I was old enough to really appreciate it. But she was also the one who said that gold was suitable only for mature ladies and not appropriate for girls :-)

I had a little pearl bracelet as a baby from my gran. I only wore it for photos or special occassions too. Personally, I would never buy one. Too much of a choking hazard.

If I remember right in a lot of South and East European States and I think Turkey too many Baby's get small bracelets (often golden, sometimes with their name on it) and sometimes necklaces with a cross for their christening. (Christening Baby's is quite common in Europe. If the children want to be real members of the congregation/church they have to receive their communion+conformation (catholic)  or confirmation (protestant) when they are older.) You also see Baby's with bracelets in West/North Europe but not the same amount as in the South.

Southern European here. Baby jewelry was used in old times but only for special ocasions and it's very rare nowadays. The only jewels normally used then and now are earrings. Yes people pierce newborn girls ears, I don't like but most parents do. Baby earrings are supposed to be safe.

I'm writing from Barcelona, can't talk for the whole south. Here people is very casual. No toddlers with ruffles and big bows, jewels etc.

And I have to admit that she somehow got to me with that post. I saw it this morning when I was at home and buying some pastry sounded way more attractive than making my healthy homemade breakfast.. but then I went into the kitchen and made my morning cereal. I'm still longing for a piece of cake or a donut and I might get some during the day. But right now I'm quite glad that I was consequent this morning. And a little embarassed that Whit was my inspiration.

My friend has a Pinterest board of inspirational quotes. One always comes to mind when I don't  want to exercise or eat healthy. "A year from now you will wish you started today." It's corny but it does work for me. To think I found inspiration while looking for her food porn boards.
