We already control the media and the world government, cause pandemics and plagues to occur, gain power by eating Christian babies and making them into bread, and now we can see the future and use it to find people to hate? Fuck yeah, I love basically being a crazy evil wizard!

For real, I'm so done with anti-Semitic attitudes that at this point, I just gotta reclaim all that bullshit.

Don't forget that 'you people' rule the World Banks. (JK!)

Indeed we do. You'd think that would be brought up more at our weekly International Jewish Conspiracy meetings.

Well, you know, Daddy Rothchild doesn't like to blab about it for fear the secret would be leaked. I really hadn't ought to have posted that here.

I have to ask: why do fundies think pants are immodest? I mean a maxi skirt can cling to one's butt just as much as pants can. Or is it that skirts are more traditionally feminine?

Because it outlines the front of her privates and supposedly makes men think about vaginas, which makes them think about wanting to have sex.

There really was a how to be modest thing somewhere that talked about the crotch v. I wish I could remember who posted it.

I laughed so hard I thought I was going to choke. I am not sure it was just Erika cos I've never followed her, or maybe I saw here. I don't know, but it was damned funny.

By that logic, wearing pants with long tunics might actually be the most modest option.

Or a potato sack, now that I think about it.

Or, for a fun new idea, maybe not judge women's clothing for modesty standards that no one can agree on. I mean, I found burka (sp?) porn one day when I was trying to disprove Rule 34. If it exists, someone out there will be turned on by it. That's just fact.

Edit: that wasn't directed at you @FundieCentral. I was just extrapolating on what you wrote.

I am always amazed by purported Christians who do not seem to recognize that Jesus was a practicing Jew. For quite a while, Christianity was considered a sect of Judaism (the Nazarene sect, for one). How some Christians can have no respect for Judiasm amazes me.

I'm not Jewish. But I am hungry and I hear you have bagels at these meetings. So... do me a solid and let me in? I promise I'll be (kind of) good and I won't interrupt (too much.)

We really need to watch the food discussions.

Passover ended for me today (some Jews observe 7 days, some 8) and I actually haven't eaten bread or anything yet (it's after 11 at night here). I wish I had a bagel right now !

Yes it is very ironic, they are antisemitic  and pro Israel.  And on the other side, I  have no issue with Jewish people but think Israel is a bully, the rich kid kicking the poor kid because he can.

Honestly (many) evangelicals (especially the Christian Right) have weird pro-Zionist, condescending anti-Semetic attitudes. They're all about the state of Israel, Jews are God's chosen people blah blah (to the point of appropriating parts of Jewish religion/culture for themselves...I'm looking at you Eddie Long/Ralph Messer).

However, they are anti-Semetic because their support of Israel is more about bringing about some prophecy about the Israelites returning to the promise land than caring about/respecting actual Jewish people. They have inherited a lot of  anti-Semitism. There's also imperialism and white supremacy interjected there. See Cathy Dillard's twitter for reference. It's a shit show.

On the other hand some evangelicals  see Jews as heathens who need to be saved (with a healthy dose of anti-Semitism, of course.)

I"m actually writing a research paper on the Evangelical Christian Right and the Palestine-Israeli Conflict. My professor showed me a picture of a house he passed that had the Israeli flag, American flag and Confederate flag waving proud in the front yard. It's messed up y'all.

Would love to chat more once I've done more research on the topic.

On another topic: Here's a sermon preached at Jeremy's church (GCC) about the role of a wife. Now I know that Jeremy himself did not preach, but he approved and is overseeing this church.

1. He talks a lot about submission of the wife. How she should submit to her husband like she submits to God. (he goes on with this for a long time) He speaks of daily submission, respecting husband in all, submitting even if the husband is 'ungodly', disrespectful or stubborn. He says "don't find reasons to disobey your husband". The only time not to follow your husband is if he asks you to sin (still you must be respectful)

2. A wife's "chief good work" is to bear children for her husband. She should not be working outside the home. Her joy and main purpose should be to bear children and raise them up in a godly manner. Wanting to work outside the home for whatever reason is temptation.

3. Feminism is an evil movement encouraging women to lead lives against God's will. He blabs about abortion for a while.

4. The importance of inner beauty. Using physical beauty to attract men is vain. Importance of not being adulterous. He also spoke earlier about women not being quarrelsome and argumentative and headstrong.

I know this message isn't indicative of Jinger's inner thoughts/beliefs but this is what is still being enforced. So yeah, I don't see her making any significant changes soon.

I'm Jewish (as if you couldn't tell), and I have a whole boatload of issues with Israel. A lot of American Jews are only just starting to get out of the "any criticism of Israel is anti-Semitism" mindset, and many, like me, feel that how Israel treats Palestinians flies in the face of Judaism's values and that the country is becoming a theocracy, exacerbated by the fact that a lot of the young liberals get the hell out of Israel as soon as they're able or don't have a whole lot of kids, leaving the crazy fundies.

I still don't get as involved in activism surrounding the issue beyond donating to human rights organizations that help Palestinians, because even though criticizing Israel isn't anti-Semitic (just like criticizing the Chinese government doesn't mean you hate all ethnically Chinese people), there is still some pretty nasty anti-Semitism in some corners of that movement. It's a bit like if a movement dedicated to combating the policies of Robert Mugabe blamed African-Americans who've been in the US since the slave trade for what Mugabe does.

(snip)

You're wrong. I can tell you how to live! Watch me!

Thou shalt not put reds in with whites in the laundry!

Thou shalt not use margarine, where butter is required!

Thou shalt not...something, something, something...dunno, just don't do it, m'kay?

Oh...wait...I can't make you listen, and even my interest in these commandments is personal. :) I guess: Carry on being yourselves?

Surely that only applies to ill-fitting pants, no? Then again, due to my health conditions I never wear pants, so never looked. I consider the phrase "my comfy jeans" to be an oxymoron. :) I have one pair of stretchy pants though, so I will have to check to see how immodest they are.

@Jinder Roles damn this makes the painful sermons on Godly submission I've endured seem damn progressive.  They always spoke of the man being the leader and we must submit to his authority, but the man must also treat his wife like an almost equal.  Basically men run the world but they have to be nice to the girls and they can do what they want mostly.
