This is interesting. Do they just ignore it like it never happened, or do they try to change the narrative completely? If it were the latter I would assume they would omit the month of marriage to stop it from being so obvious that they gave away pieces of their precious hearts before they entered the right season of life.

EDIT: Apparently, the Wallers suck at their own math. Derrick & Jennifer married in June 2015 and had a child in 2016. Nothing to snark about here. I got excited. Sorry folks.

She wrote that post in December so she was technically correct.

@Howl, yep, that's him!  he's been discussed here before, Kirk Cameron seems to adore him, and his "facts" on bananas being intelligently designed for human consumption have been thoroughly debunked online.  i put up the reference after reading (here) how the Duggarettes and other fundie women are expected to eat bananas by holding them in one hand, breaking off pieces with the other, and then eating the small bits.  and meanwhile Ray says the banana was designed by God for, as he puts it, "ease of entry."  contradictory at best, and perverted at worst because these "modest" fundies are obsessed with how obscene it looks to eat a banana the normal way.

Having studied this photo for a full Two minutes (broad church is on, don't want to miss it) I've decided that Priscilla has Mr waller's nose and cheeks. Her mouth/smile very like Mrs Waller. She looks more like David's parents than her own.

Wait, wait, wait. Is this an actual thing that was read somewhere or just and FJ thing? I can't imagine Duggars are made to eat bananas "modestly" when they eat pickles so suggestively. Im surrounded by fundie women and we eat our bananas the good old-fashioned way thank you ;-)

I have no idea about the Duggars and their pickle eating is definitely ... explicit!

However, I was taught to eat bananas by breaking them into pieces.  The defrauding nature of whole banana eating was not mentioned; it was presented as a table manners issue.  FYI, eating an asparagus spear "correctly" is quite as defrauding as taking a bite of a whole banana.

I think it is either very old-fashioned table manners or possibly a missionary thing - like never wearing patent leather shoes because they would reflect your undies.

i'm trying to remember where i heard about the modest banana-eating; i'm thinking it had to be here somewhere, because no one in my real life shares my interest in FJ/fundies.  i have a faint mental image of Me-chelle doing it, but it may have been a brief scene in the show, or i could be wrong entirely.  i used to watch the show back around 18 kids, before i learned how harmful they are.

There was an episode where Michelle and Jim Bob are on the bus, talking to (I think...) Ben and Jessa. She was eating a banana modestly, which I remember being hilarious.
