I have a hard time believing they all want the same thing. I really think there's some hardcore cult-like brain washing going on. It's like their parents never want them to grow up and be men, they want them to be kids at home forever. Even multi-generational families who live in the same house still have dates/spouses/significant others/children of their own, etc. Are these guys all asexual? I'm baffled at how this can happen with so many people in the same house.

Agreed. Also, many places will have pick-up games this time of year so people could probably find one in their neighborhood to watch or participate in. Either of which would be way more fun than watching a livestream!

I've been in kind of blah mood today, so I decided I needed more Arndt in my life I'm wondering:

When is the last time we've ever seen the boys' rooms? Is it possible a few may have moved out but they don't mention anything as it would tarnish their Safe at Home image/"brand"?

Also, based on the fb review below Arndt Photo does not shoot same-sex weddings. I'm a little disappointed to read this, but not surprised. My other thought is wow they must not need the money. Regardless of beliefs, wedding photography can be $$$. I know, religious convictions and all, but in a situation where money is tight, beliefs tend to loosen up a bit. I don't think the supposed response from whichever Arndt answered was horrible - I also take it with a grain of salt as she wasn't the one who called. I dislike third party reviews, you're getting such an unnecessarily skewed version of events.

I'm not shocked that they didn't shoot a same-sex wedding. Although it makes me a little sad. It's like when I browse facebook and see all the abortion stuff, I'm not shocked. Yet it still makes me sad.

It makes me sad as well and by no means do I agree with what they are doing but if they did it for the money, everyone would call them a hypocrite. So at least they live what they preach (as wrong as it may be)

And they do take gorgeous pictures.

I'm almost certain that one of the boy's Facebook pages indicates he lives in the Soulard neighborhood of St. Louis, across the Mississippi River from the Safe Home.

 

ETA that I've only found them weird, not creepy, until the penguin-drone video, where Cathy took the big plush penguin away from Mary-E and hugged it, copying what M-E had just done spontaneously. 

I think both Cathy & Rick are sick fux and it's one of the mysteries of life why they were able to have so many healthy children when other, mentally healthy couples endure infertility. But that's life.

I totally know what you mean but I wish they realized photographing a wedding does not mean endorsing a couple and all that they stand for. I assume the Arndts don't drink and they have photographed weddings that serve alcohol. But I guess same sex couples is beyond their limit. Would they shoot another faith's wedding I wonder?

I know they have shot very non-religious weddings, and I could have sworn they did pictures for a bride and groom of South Asian descent once? I remember wondering if the ceremony had been Hindu and being surprised at their openess. I may be confusing them with a traditionalist Catholic photographer I know of.

If the info is public and poster is not a Facebook friend there is nothing wrong with saying which son.  I have never seen it but maybe I've missed a manboy.

As much as I wish this were true, I think he just listed St Louis as it is the closest metro area, and that particular neighborhood was added. I mean anything is possible, but that duck drone video was shot a month ago and it indicated James and Paul were "coming home from a trip" as in coming back to where they resided.

It's so sad because I know they would do just fine on their own, Paul seems super independent.

Looks like he has two pages, one just links to the other.  I just see St. Louis, no specific location.  I think I will pretend that Paul has a little apartment and is dating a nice young woman, although I think it more likely that he's in the attic with John, Mark and Luke still.

Man. I'm not an Arndt expert, but it must be rough being the only girl in a large family. I know we say we ideally don't want girls to be born into fundiedom, and I agree with the sentiment, but if/when a girl is born into the cult I do hope that they'll have a sister, just for companionship at least. I'm with other FJers who reckon that Sarah, Anna and Mary Maxwell may ever get married, but at least they have each other. Yes Jana Duggar is 27 and stuck in a room with kid sisters, but she still hangs out with/gets to see her other sisters and occasionally people like the Bateses.

Do the Arndts tend to socialise with anyone else? Or is Mary-Elizabeth totally alone?
