The Duggars PR team has been strategically planning on when to release all of these "special announcements", from Joy's engagement, Joe-Kendra courtship, and now a new Josh-Anna Pregnancy. They are trying to spread it all out to keep them in the news and drum up interest to get $$$. I bet ratings will be high for this next season based on how many things they are announcing. What next, Michelle Duggar expecting next week? Jana being married off?

On the previous thread regarding her due date some posters were making guesses but nobody knows for sure. It's assumed Anna is past 20 weeks since they know the sex of the baby.

You can find out the sex of your baby really early now with genetic testing (Harmony, Verifi, etc.). The test can be drawn at 10 weeks and results take 1-2 weeks. I'm pregnant and found out that early that we're having a boy.

I bet she's due after Jill at least. I guess we'll see!

So grossed out by the thought of them still being together.

I don't think we can comment on whether Anna and Josh are happy in their marriage. We have not seen or heard anything from them to even speculate based on our observations. So the stuff that's said here is coming out of left field.

I think the fact that Josh set up 2 accounts on a cheating website and admits being unfaithful is pretty solid evidence.

They are being intentionally vague. I am guessing that they want Anna to quietly have the baby, they will quietly announce it and then move on to the next news. I guess it will be interesting to see if they show Anna at all. If they do Anna talking heads, they may get some interest but then they have to explain Josh.

Well, if they had a Jana courtship, I suppose the ratings would be super high! She seems to be almost everyone's favourite. But I guess we'd know something by now.

The people magazine article posted in the last thread trying to sell the redemption story makes me think that they're thinking about having Josh back on the show, and will make a decision based on the reaction to the story.

I still can't believe Josh managed to get someone else to sleep with him... sometimes I think no one could possibly do that with him and they consider the porn addiction to be the cheating.... but I doubt it.

I can't believe another baby is going to be born into this catastrophe.

i couldn't give two shits if josh is back on the show, or not. though, i enjoy the format for what it is, now. i only cared to watch to find out what the j'slaves were up to.

anyways, people who likes the show are going to watch it whether or not josh is on there. look at the duggars belief system - you think TLC having an adulterer and molester is going to change that? nope. a very, very large majority of viewers are going to continue tuning in to watch the duggars.

if anything, it would likely draw in more people to see the initial interactions.

They do read here after all.  That was a big discussion in one of the threads not long ago.

I can't believe I'm about to say this, but yes, please TLC, put Josh back on the show. At least it would be interesting. I'd like to see the family dynamics now, and what he has to say for himself.

After boring us to death for the past year with the girls, you owe us some juicier content.

oh, i'm not defending his actions. they were shitty. BUT, we haven't seen anything since then.

On the last thread someone suggested that Michelle would blame Anna for having fewer kids than she did. I don't think so. Michelle knows that her fertility is off-the-charts abnormal and is proud of it. Besides, she knows that Josh is the one who is less enthusiastic about having a big family.

It does seem that Josh and Anna spread their kids out a bit...they seem to be on the every 2 year plan. Anna is what? 29? She has at best about 16 years of fertility left. So, on the every 2 year plan and assuming she doesn't stop earlier, they're looking at a total of 13 kids. Still insane but not 19 kids insane.

I remember reading somewhere that post-infidelity it's actually fairly common for the "wronged" party to initiate sex/want it- they want to know they are still wanted/desirable and it gives them a sense of power. Given that they think birth control is a sin (a sin worse than cheating, even?), it makes sense in a weird way that she wouldn't want to use birth control after the affairs. She wouldn't want to encourage him to sin more... and probably thinks she can just love him enough. In a healthy relationship, they'd get intense couples counseling because changing behavior is HARD. If he does have a sex addiction, it's one thing to be sober in a recovery house (as much of a joke as the Jesus Camp is)- it's another when back in the real world. I think it's possible for relationships to survive affairs, but their entire relationship dynamic is incredibly unhealthy and unless that's changed- I predict Joshgate 3.0 in about 4 months!

the people who have said they don't want josh on the screens again - why? no one is being protected if he doesn't appear. he might be out of sight and out of mind for the viewers, but he is still likely interacting with his family and social circle as he always has. don't be lulled into a false sense of security by thinking because he's not on the screen, his family and friends are being protected from the bad things he has done or could be doing.

My one hope for Anna to escape was a tell-all book. She could have a ghost writer help with the actual writing. She then could have potentially had speaking engagements, too... I'm sure she was approached with this offer (if people were able to reach her without going through the Boob...)- I'd read a book if she wrote one. Heck, maybe she could have even pitched a one season show to TLC about moving on, being a single mother, life after the cult...

my pipe dream...

I'd be interested to see Josh on Counting On. Why not? They addressed the issue in the first mini season, so it's not like they've tried to completely sweep it under the rug. I'm all for exposing as much of the ugly side of their lifestyle as possible. Of course, what I'd like to see is an honest treatment of the matter, and what we'd get would probably be some glossy redemption narrative, which would be somewhat infuriating. I think it would make the show much more interesting, though. After a while the endless parade of courtships, engagements, weddings, wedding showers, baby showers, babies, and highly scripted activities and outings gets boring.

I think it's because the family doesn't seem to understand what the big deal is about all the Josh scandals. Their attitude is "He sinned and repented. Everything is fine now. God forgave him, we had to forgive him, and so do you."  (Or as my ex used to say to me: "You have to forgive me because we're Christians.")

Also, no one likes seeing the Duggars (or TLC) profiting from this.

They already know it's a boy (thank good it's a boy!), so Anna must be at least 16-18 weeks along, if not more. My prediction that Anna is due before Jill is might be true. Also the prediction of there being 4 new grand-Duggars could be true as well, if Jinger is pregnant.

It will be at least 3 grand-sons in 2017. If Jinger is pregnant with her first I hope it's a son, too.

Initially the thought was that he not profit from the show, or be presented like nothing is wrong. TLC banned him so they could keep the $$ going and it probably did seem like a good strategy at first.

Truly the only interesting aspect of Counting On was when the interviewed the family about Josh gate, and we actually saw some honest and raw reactions. The subsequent show was a snooze fest, and now IMO, it's ridiculous to not show Josh (or make him a shiney blob, ha ha).

We all know he's there, now he has another baby coming, let's just get real and see what is going on one year post scandal.

I also think that TLC overestimated the negative reactions. Most folks watch the Duggars for one of two reasons: they're leghumpers for whom Josh & Co. can do no wrong, or they watch to snark/out of curiosity. Either way, they're gonna keep watching, Josh or no Josh.
TLC probably thought Joshgate was the end of the show because too many people would be outraged and protest if it continued. Then they thought no one would watch if Josh were included. Wrong. People love to watch a train wreck.
