It seems like Anna is pretty far along as well. They could have easily announced M5 before Joys engagement and Joes courting, I wonder why they didn't.

I tend to think that they're a lot less strategic with how they time announcements than a lot of people assume. Partly because the Duggars are not exactly the cleverest people in the world, but mostly because the way we see things isn't the way they see things. Something we would think is shocking or appalling, they might think is wonderful and exciting, and vice versa. Just look at how shocked they were that the rest of the world made such a 'big deal' when the Josh molestation scandal broke.

That's true. But they obviously understood that this announcement wouldn't be unanimously cheered on. Because it wasn't announced in the same way as any of the other pregnancies and it seems Anna is much further along then she or anyone else has been for earlier announcements. 

If they thought is was as happy an announcement as D2 we would have known a while ago and there would be pointless congratulation videos from all the siblings.

I think they are testing the waters. They may gradually bring Josh out of hiding more and more often if the reaction is positive (or negative in a positive way because bad publicity is still publicity).

It is a little strange if they wait so long to tell us, and do it after a big run of news lately. Unless their hand is forced because something public is coming up (like big sandy in April) and they know there will be pictures.

They probably waited until they couldn't wait anymore. Anna is likely showing and it means that if they are filming, that it would be harder to hide.

I'm guessing Anna is due somewhere in the summer because her previous three babies were born in June/July. I don't know if Jinger is actually pregnant. It would be nice if she and Jeremy at least got to enjoy one year as a married couple.

Mackynzie was born in October. Anyway, the birthdates of your previous babies don't generally influence the birthdates of the future ones..

I remember reading somewhere that the boys are probably anniversary babies. When did they get married? If that's true, it could influence future birthdays...

Edited to add: I was on a reddit thread about people who left cults. One person posted saying they left ATI, and then someone asked if they knew the Duggars. After saying they did, someone else asked if the kids all seemed as into their beliefs as the parents are. He replied with this:

Okay long time lurker, first time poster...not even sure this is the correct thread to post this OR if it's already been discussed...

but I was perusing through public court records in the state of Arkansas and noticed Michelle and JB took legal guardianship of Michelle's 9 year old nephew in August...

May have already been discussed, but I found it interesting.

We've talked about it. A lot actually. His name is Tyler,  and they have him because the child's grandmother han an ictus or something. He is a cutie an apparently BFF with Jackson or something

This weekend was the first time since I started lurking that I got Duggar news from Jezebel instead of FJ (i.e. Joshley and the M redemption baby.) 

I should just give up all the hopes and dreams I have of ever seeing "A Very Special Duggar Vasectomy" episode on TLC. Those gross men aren't giving up their virility for anything, even if Jesus Christ himself came down and said, "I hereby command thee to get snip snipped! You have procreated enough for one lifetime!"

Count me in on the Jinger is pregnant team. Last time they overshadowed Josh's birthday wish with Joy's things. There is a PR team behind this and we will hear something within 6 days.

I know lots of this is speculation and there are simply a lot of Duggars all at once to have life events, but how unpleasantly inorganic must it be to go about life on a schedule to maximize ratings. I feel like on top of all the fundie restrictions and rules that would just be the icing on the cake of 19 mental breakdowns and counting.

Not to defend Josh but I'm pretty sure it's Anna that's running the baby train. There have been several scenes of her making comments that "it's time for another blessing" and Josh looking miserable on 19KAC. To me, it appears that he would have preferred to stop after Marcus.

Yeah well, he signed up for as many babies as god blessed them with. No sympathy for Josh.

When I did watch 19Kids I remember a look they gave each other after someone said something about them(Josh Andy Anna) having more. This was in between Marcus and Meredith. I agree @Kelseythey looked so uncomfortable in that moment.

During that terrible cross country trip that they took in the RV,  Anna was constantly pushing the baby thing, and Josh was not at all looking into it.  I agree that Josh was ready to be done.  And no,  He did not choose to have as many babies as possible.  He was taught and told that he must do that in order to be among the godly faithful people of the world.  None of us like Josh, for obvious reasons, but  he hasn't had a great live either.  He was forced into gothardism and possibly remembers life before that happened.  He was inadequately treated when his sexual aggression became known.  He was pushed to marry young to a woman that he may have barely known and probably wasn't really in love with.  He was forced to Shill for FRC all the while leading a double life with his porn addiction and ashley madison accounts. 

 

He is a bad guy, no doubt but he may have been very different had he not been a duggar.  He is just another example of their terrible parenting.  And poor Anna is an example of the poor parenting she came from.  Parenting that taught her to stay in a marriage like this, to marry a man with his past, etc.  It is all sad and will get sadder.  The M kids make me sad.  I honestly thought that Anna was doing a decent job with them.  Mackenzie seemed brighter than the J kids,  Anna's hands on parenting seemed to be more successful.  But now we see her passively accepting her fate, AND willingly, having more kids with Josh.  It is sad.  Divorce is sad too.   We have no reason to believe that Josh was a bad dad to those kids, and they probably love their daddy.  So either way, because of Jim Bob and Michelle, And Anna's awful  mom and dad,  they created this family unit that  results in at least 5 children being raised in a mess of dysfunction.

On of the many things that piss me off with this people is they say "they are leaving it up to God" but they hump like bunnies, and actively TRY to get pregnant. They don't stop when sane people would see the signs of God saying ENOUGH, like DQ's doctors saying she should probably stop, or Josie being a micro premie but she got pregnant again anyway, despite all the warnings to stop, 

As for Josh, he's the headship he can tell Anna NO, we are done with babies, I'm sure he was pressured to have another blessing by his idiots parents, but I would hope if he is truly miserable with so many kids he will stop, Anna & the other Mkids will thank him for it later 5 kids is a large family by today's standards. 

This family always talks about doing "God's will" but they do what they want and say God told them too.

I was looking at Internet articles about Anna being pregnant and almost all mentioned that the Duggar peeps are not remarking about it at all. Congrats to Joe and Kendra, good wishes to Joy and Austin but nada to Josh and Anna. Speaks volumes or they are afraid to say anything for fear of backlash.

Sorry, really OT, but I was just looking back at "Alice's" revelations from more than a decade ago and just realized that Josh was betrothed to a girl, TWICE. I never knew about the twice part. I heard it happened once and it was canceled due to the family finding out Josh's crimes. I just learned it happened twice. Also, I think Josh was discovered sexually sinning by the church AGAIN during some political campaign. I know this is probably extensively discussed somewhere on planet fj but I'm too tired to look. Srry again, just surprised of his 2X betrothal
