Can anyone link me to a good place to start with the Josh/Danica law suit? Does it have to do with Joshley Madison or something else? Kinda hard to keep track :P

There's a subforum of Josh's legal proceedings. Those include the molestation documents as well as the Danica Dillon case. Here's the link:

that is an absolutely terrible picture.  Who does this kind of work and considers it good?  Joe has a shirt about 3 sizes too big.  Their poses all look so contrived as if to say "look how zany and fun we are".  Somehow they managed to make Jana, who is petite and slender look stocky, JD looks odd, Derick Looks like he is holding Jill back from throwing herself off a cliff, It is a terrible pic of Austin and Joy, and ugh,  just sooooo bad all the way around.  The only bright spots are Jeremy has on decent pair of jeans and we see Jinger's knees peeking out.  Otherwise this picture should be used in Marketing and PR classes as a "what not to do".

So I got distracted by their shoes...

Jinger's wearing block heels with her above the knee skirt, and Joy and Jana are at the very least wearing decently wedges.

Also Jana's shoes are a red patent.

Shoe rebellion is a good kind of rebellion. Shame it doesn't make up for a very bad photo!

Now that Jed and Jer are 18, I wonder whether they'll be added to the show.  It would be nice if they were doing something beside just being twins...but just about anything would be better than watching Derick puke or Ben rap for the Lawd.  I think they know how to wash dishes.  And Jer can play chess.

Omg you lucky dog! My morning sickness is horrendous...At my peak it's 7-8 times a day!!

Me too. Me too. With both pregnancies. It was harder the second time around, because I also had the first kid to take care of. With my first pregnancy I could at least lie down all day if I wanted to. Second pregnancy I had to wait till nap time. That was the hardest six hours of my life.

I had HG and my longest time of retching was for an hour and a half with my first kid. Obviously it wasn't an hour and a half long retch, but I kept doing it over and over and over. My husband said my face was red, I was sweating and tears were coming from my eyes, and I passed out twice. I'm not good pregnant.

That being said, I can't snark on pregnancy sickness. I look back at my old Facebook posts while pregnant with the first, and there was a LOT of whining from me.

Puttin my Tim Gunn hat on.  Jana looks stocky because she's in mid-step or something and her dress is cutting off at a weird spot on her leg.  Add to that the shoes which come up a bit high and cut off her leg at the bottom.  She/They have managed to cut off (or visually shorten) her legs which is making her look stocky/wider.

This weeks challenge is to make frumpers! Designers make it work!

I'm going to add Jinger's boots to this. Other than that, you nailed it!

Reading the DFO Facebook comments is such a painful experience. The number of people who can't grasp that the TV guide might be wrong and then can't think to just record whatever is listed in the time slot is astounding.

I've come to a conclusion that much of the fan's fervor is based on their first impressions of this family. When the big kids were younger they were shown to have a lot of responsibility/structure relative to at least myself and my friends (even those in larger families). The idea that they are all obidient and mature was cemented. I know when I first saw them I was fascinated on how the house was run and how helpful the kids seemed and I am in their age range.

What was impressive for a 10-16 year old  to do (emt/fire/cpr volunteer, committed to musical practice, buddy/mother, helping out with Dad's businesses, "studious", organized with chores etc) does not make a capable 20-27+ year old. They have shown no growth or expectation of growth in that time and it's jarring. At the same time none of the younger kids have been shown to have the same disciplined (spirit beaten out of them) polish which highlights that after the older ones M&JB passed off the parenting and expectations fell. I'm not saying it's a bad thing as I'd rather be wild and climbing trees than on display at a campaign trail. Just something I've been thinking about which I always get reinforced reading fans comment how spectacular, mature, etc the kids are.

Exactly. What do they have to show for themselves really? Except maybe JD, but he isn't that special for the "normal" world, is he?

In response to the bolded... I used to agree, but they actually tackled this on an episode of 19KaC, I believe when the girls were shopping for bridesmaid shoes for Jill's wedding. I think it was Joy who specified that there are no modesty standards for feet (while buying platform wedge sandals).

That said, I wonder if modesty has to do with why they all seem partial to the "bootie" shoe cut. Open stilettos would really elongate their legs (like Jessa's, which aren't half bad here imo) and look great with the skirt lengths, but might elongate and draw too much attention to the legs.... I don't know.

Trying to comment on this more as a fundie snarker and less of a BEC, hope I'm not too terrible there  :my_shy:

Jessa once said that she wasn't comfortable wearing heels, probably from years of only wearing flipflops/flats. I suspect that some of the others feel the same way. JInger's outfit looks the best to me.  Booties look better with a shorter skirt.  I really like Jana's dress and I think it would look a lot better with a regular shoe.

I just thought of something. With scripted, teen drama shows (Glee, The OC, Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, etc.) the shows started with the characters in high school and they can only stretch so long before they have to go to college/into the real world. Many times viewers don't like the shift in the show when that happens and you kind of wish they could stay in high school forever even though it isn't remotely plausible or realistic (and have 30 somethings playing 16 year olds).

The Duggar kids are "stuck" in time forever in a sense. Except for marriage and babies, they are largely doing exactly what they were doing 10 years ago (nothing), and the actual (non-snark) viewers are actually enjoying it. I'll never understand that it is entertaining to watch 20-somethings living with their parents and not working or socializing whatsoever, but maybe it's a similar mentality- content to being stuck in time.

Cue the leg jumper battle cry of "Well, at least they're not like the Kardashians!"

Er, the Kardashians have jobs (aside from reality TV), their own homes, and are financially independent adults. You're right; they're nothing like the Kardashians.

Plus, as far as anyone knows, none of the Kardashians have molested anyone nor have they covered up molestation.

Nor do they hatefully campaign against women's rights, or support evil political candidates. Morally, the Ks are much better than the Duggars. It's their own business if they wanna do sex tapes and porn shoots…doesn't hurt anyone else.

Jessa's very on-trend lace up shoes in that pic made me feel super uneasy. They are slowly morphing their brand to appeal to the mainstream culture, thereby normalizing their dangerous rhetoric. Wolves in sheep's clothing (literally!)

Another Q for the ages: whose fingers are those on the right of JD's neck?

I'm thinking Josiah has the long stretch. Between Austin and Joy, and above Jana's shoulder, on JD.

I haven't been on in awhile, so this may have been covered already.

But. Watching the Sessions committee hearing...

Ted Cruz is really starting to resemble Josh Duggar. It's like all Evangelicals are becoming one. Surely that's a sign of the Rapture.

I suspect they take those pictures individually & then piece them together to make  group shots. b/c yeah, there's a phantom hand on JD's shoulder. But you'd think a prof. photog. would know better. Altho they might have handed the job off to an intern.

The only thing which surprises me about this promo photo is that Jessa's belly isn't being promoted. With her being bent over, you can't even tell she's pregnant.
