Meredith Hammer has given birth to her fourth child - a little girl.

Four kids and a husband who is studying....  geez - she wanted to be a helpmeet and she's got that in spades.

Her brother also recently got married (having overcome is evil porn addiction and ungodly practices associated with it).

I just saw her Facebook profile. Her name is Eleanor Hammer. Is she is a Thanksgiving baby?

Per IG, she was born Wednesday evening. She's a perfectly chunky little cutie.

Is this the picture that had people guessing about Martha? I'd say it was a false alarm, as I've combed Jeannine's and Martha's IGs and there haven't been any announcements or photos to suggest otherwise.

No different than any of the other giant fundie families with SAHD's.

Jana Duggar shares a room with her sisters, including the 6 year old. Sarah Maxwell has shared a room with her younger sisters all along, and the youngest just turned 19 to Sarah's 33.

Not at all normal for an average family but status quo for them.

Minor correction, Mary is 20 now, and Sarah is 34, almost 35.

But yeah, the point still stands...that's a 14 year age difference. Sarah was still sharing a room with a teenager into her 30s.

Was there ever any doubt?

No, but it still surprises how the majority of them really manages to get knocked up at their honeymoon.

Now I'm beginning to think that whoever suggested that Kimberly's wedding kept being postponed due to her bridesmaids being knocked up was on to something! lol. He's a very cute baby. And Laura (Julie and Brian's daughter) is insanely adorable with how excited she is about him.

I just spent awhile on their site. I'm incredibly more bothered than I should be by the fact that there are two Caleb grandsons, born within two months of each other. Are you telling me the siblings never talked about the names? Or if the one born in April was given that name, you couldn't consider a different one for your son?

Just seems so weird.

Dying at those hashtags because it immediately made me think of this:

(Somehow I feel like they weren't referring to this.) :P

I don't think it's out of the question that they schedule their weddings/honeymoons for a time they're likely to be ovulating.

It does seem weird. I've tried to make sense of it, like maybe there was someone they were friends with named Caleb that had passed away recently and both wanted to use the name Caleb to honor him. But couldn't Caleb have been one of their middle names instead? As it is, they have to use their middle names on the blog when differentiating the two boys, which has to be pretty inconvenient.

I wouldn't do it because it would be confusing. However I do think it's possible they both loved the name and decided it was ok to both name their babies Caleb. Which is fine. Lots of people share names and family members often share names. But like I said, it might get confusing so I would probably go with a different name or a nickname. For instance, I know a Caleb that goes by Cale. Or if one is named Caleb james, he could be called CJ. That's most likely what I would do in hat situation.

But how would they do that? I am not on the pill since two years and my cycle is somewhat regular but I could not predict my ovulation in the future. I keep track of  it so I have a good idea when it is likely but I don't see how you could seriously schedule that without a perfect clockwise cycle.

My guess is they have tons of sex around those days. A standard cycle is between 23 to 35 days. If you do that often enough your chances to hit the right time is good. Which must be a nightmare. If I think about my first time and the five times after that...those poor young people.

According to the LiaS FB, the new Coghlan baby is named Phineas Campbell and will be called Finn. I see they are back to PCC initials. Will James William feel left out? I was surprised when they broke the streak, and I am surprised they brought it back!

In my stepfathers side of the family there are 7 people sharing the same names. It is insane! We somehow manage to figure it out, but still my mother always makes fun of this. I guess they just all have similar taste.

I could never predict my ovulation that exact since my circle is always changing.. which sucks a lot!!

And yes, it must be a nightmare to go from barely knowing each other to humping 24/7.

There are 8 (maybe more- it's a big family and I forget some younger cousins names) males in my family with the same first name. All named after my grandfather. It does get confusing occasionally but we can normally work out who we're talking about. 4 of them do have the same surname though which complicates things a bit more.

..then doing daily pregnancy tests, and basically having  weeks at most, to enjoy being just a couple, without thinking about the upcoming baby...  Straight into morning sickness...

I've wondered whether one of the lesser reasons fundamentalist husbands (of many religions) seem so into prohibiting birth control -- and so happy to immediately impregnate their young wives -- is that the men are just that freaked out about menstruation. Menstruation has been feared and reviled across the globe, and I feel like isolation and lack of education further those issues.

Better to deal with a pregnant wife than be freaked out by her menses, maybe...?

Sigh.

i was thinking about the SMortons and their fertility last night.  I can't imagine coming back from a honeymoon on which I was expected to submit to my husband endless times (let's be real, we are dealing with a horny young man who was just told he must be fruitful and multiply), immediately being knocked up, and then dealing with morning sickness, separation from my family, adapting to a new house, and being expected to cook and clean and take care of him.   What a crazy tailspin.  I was so nauseous, tired, and completely lacking in libido the first trimester that if I had to regularly service my patriarch I'd be crying on the regular.  Not to mention, if he's one of the nice ones, his beautiful young bride is nauseous, bloated and suddenly not nearly as into him as the first month.  They should be able to enjoy each other and new love.  Not thrust into parenthood immediately after being considered a vulnerable child.

Lots of people ovulate halfway through the cycle. It's obviously not clockwork for everyone, but if you have sex every day for the week leading up to the likely day of ovulation, you have a pretty good chance. Plus, lots of women I know DO have a very predictable cycle. I'm not one of them, but even I can tell when I'm likely ovulating due to pain, discharge changes, breast tenderness, etc. If all you have time to do is housework, studying the Bible, and paying attention to your body (and logging these changes), it can become more predictable. :P I use an app to track my own cycles and symptoms, and even with my hormonal imbalance, it does make certain patterns more apparent (and shows me how exercise, various diets, etc., affect my cycles).
