I think Courtney Stodden is either an A-class culture troll, or a horribly duped youngster who's making a spectacular ass of herself AND being exploited by the adults around her for their own benefit (financial, sexual, etc.)

I hope to God it's the former and not the latter, but either way I am so not down with the rampant slut-shaming. A lot of her behaviors are off-putting and ridiculous and of course people are going to respond, but the idea that calling a woman a slut or a whore in the 21st century is supposed to be meaningful or fair critique makes me want to vomit.

I'm still skeptical about her age too. Birth certificate? Pfft... I don't buy it. I don't think she is 40 years old, but I also don't think she's a teen either. I think this is some GIANT publicity stunt. Also, people are constantly commenting on her boobs and makeup. First of all she does some heavy contouring on her chest. It's almost drag-queen quality. She also wears ill-fitting overly padded bras. She also cakes on the eye-makeup and uses a ridiculous amount of hairspray.

Yep...couldn't resist giving my two cents about the illustrious Courtney. Has anyone seen her recent youngish photos? Suffice to say, she actually looks attractive and normal in those than she does in the clown act we're subjected to now. Why in God's name didn't her folks just play up her natural good looks instead of training her to act like some washed-up/out 70's-era porn star? Many posters on the site (Huffington Post) said she looked like a young Cybill Shepherd -- and they're spot on.

I'd never heard of him until this thread :lol: . Also, a quick look at his IMDB page tells me that yes he had a minor part on Lost. He played Horace Godspeed and for the life of me, despite being a Lost junkie, I can't place the face in the least. I remember that that was the name of one of the Dharma guys, but that's about it.

Ethan Frome's father. Present at Ben's birth; responsible for getting Ben's father the job on the Island. Most active during the parts set in the 1970s, but his first appearance was as a ghost or holograph of some sort doing a mundane task, repeating the same 30 or so seconds over and over again. Pretty creepy.

well she is young she may have the energy but he won't. it is so over the top fake it's not even funny. all for some crappy reality show? makes me wonder if he is not using her to get his career going again. But it does seem most people know it is not real as she is a pretty poor actor.

I gave you the same benefit of the doubt that I give all men, but time and time again your posts were about sex - either the fundie's or yours. So don't try to put this on me. Yes I talk about sex god forbid that nasty word. I don't think woman are sexual objects and I don't treat them like that. Unlike you I try to treat everyone the same. Pretty much everything I post is from the mainstream news. I don't promote patriarchy and hate it worth a passion. but you see everything in that light and it colors your thoughts. Boy, did this thread morph into some unbelievable drama! FWIW, Courtney's not worth the energy taken up by all this in-house fighting amongst those who have the misfortune of sharing her air space. I'm not siding with any particular person here, AFA I'm concerned, unless there is some real base obscenity or threats of violence here, I figure people can say what they want about anyone online as they wish. Some are more eloquent than others, and if there's some difficulty, we humans feel we need to share that, also. I visit political sites whose comments section would curl your hair and even when those commenters get too off-track, I just click off and go to another page.

When it all comes out (most assuredly) Ms. Stodden actually IS some over-aged wash-out, who here is going to feel that egg on their faces then? I'm sticking to the topic at hand, not about other posters...

Which invoked me to write another post about C&D, earlier I was listening to my favorite jazz channel, was hearing some vintage Dave Brubeck, and other similar bands. All of a sudden, I pictured Douggie Boy's voice dubbed in a British accent, dressed a la Sixties' playboy, checked sport jacket, fussy Ascot, smoking a pipe, looking veddy Continental, paired up with old sexpot queen, Elke Sommer or even Ann-Margret! Sort of like in the old Pink Panther movies!
