The show we call can't wait to see. - Courtney Stodden

I can't snark on her, I think she's very much a victim of exploitation and who knows what else. Good parents would never have agreed to let their 16-year-old daughter marry a 50-year-old she barely knew. Then her overly sexual mannerisms and speech (I was going to quote one of her tweets but they're all really bad)--things are not okay and I'm disturbed that there will be a reality show about her and her creepy husband.

Perhaps the plus side of this reality TV show is that someone who is in a position to help Courtney will see it, and take action.

I can only hope.

she is a victim for sure. But she is an adult now and she has to be responsible for herself. Her parents did something to her.

but she has to want it. She sure looks like she is enjoying the limelight. I doubt it will happen till she crashes and burns.

I'll grant you that, but having someone there to pick up the pieces afterwards would be good.

Like slapstick third-rate comedy theater, why do I somehow feel/think Courtney, Mom and Dad Stodden, and Hubby Doug are part of a deliberate act, with Courtney mugging for the camera, but behind the scenes, she's like a guy in drag, scratching herself and lighting up a big stogie, laughing like a hyena at the dupes she and her crew mistake for a loyal audience?

Homeschooling Christian girl? Try me on a stupid day...

Sorry for bringing this back up, but something just occurred to me....she is seventeen, yes? If she does start divorce proceedings, won't she have to 'appear' in court over closed-circuit TV?

Don't ask why this occurred to me - I don't even know....

it really looks like she is trying to be slutty or at least trying for the attention it brings her. every time she is brought up she is wearing something that does not work well for a 17 year old. I guess this is how you promote your horrible reality tv show.

‘Teen bride’ Courtney Stodden and husband Doug Hutchison were tossed from a pumpkin patch in the Santa Clarita Valley over the weekend, after fellow pumpkin prospectors complained the amorous May-December couple had behaved inappropriately at the family-geared venue.

Onlookers also complained that Courtney -- wearing Daisy Dukes and a plaid shirt tied to show off her flat belly -- was not dressed appropriately for the patch. After Courtney, 17, and Doug, 51, were 86’ed from the patch, they went to a nearby area where Courtney struck some sexy poses for the camera.

Courtney presumably referred to the incident on her Twitter page, writing: "Have a beautifully blessed Sunday! :) "Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment.†John 7:24"

While Courtney's parents have pledged their full support to their daughter's marriage to The Green Mile star, the unlikely duo has raised some eyebrows since going public with their marriage.

When we exclusively asked Courtney how she plans to further her education last month, she said she "would go to college and study all of Doug ... all of his body, and all the elements within that. What they do and what they still do. It would be a lot of fun."

The controversial frenzy has helped put the pair on the map, as Courtney's music video Don't Put It On Me has racked up more than 2.8 million YouTube hits.

She said she is glad she waited to get married before having sex. Is it waiting to have sex if you get married at 16?!

also, did she purposefully set out to look like a washed up porn star?

And how does a 17-year-old who was supposedly living a wholesome Christian life managed to look so haggard and used? She looks like she was "rode hard and hung up wet to dry," as my grandma used to say.

I wish I could show this to my mother because I can hear her saying, "What on earth?!"

It's like these people are from some other planet.

However, I have to say that their ploy for attention has definitely worked. All eyes are one them, in horror.

I hope I don't offend anyone here when I observe that at one time those platform boots with the 6" heel were only worn by hookers. Does she seriously expect us to believe that she's "religious?"

playing in daisy dukes in a pumpking patch? Is she re-enacting Hee Haw (sorry, first thing that comes to mind). For all their sexual talk/play/innuendo I still somehow have the feeling that the whole think is some kind of sick sham....and not even a very profitable one.

Yes I agree and pretty soon she will be permanently labeled a slut and if she somehow starts acting that's the only roles she will ever get.

From what I gather, Courtney Stodden was pretty much raised by her mother to marry money.

Hutchinson doesn't strike me as being very bright. He keeps going on (in the linked interview) about how adult and mature Stodden is when she really comes across as an average 16-year-old. (She's not terribly articulate - but then again, neither is her husband.)

It could be a lot worse, though: They seem genuinely happy with one another. In the end, it doesn't really get much better than being happy with one's spouse.

I believe this has been said before, but these threads should really be on the "Worldly Distractions" board... Courtney Stodden is not related to religious fundamentalism, nor is she really related to women's rights or feminism except for the fact that every time something about her is posted here it reminds me how much I really hate the non-ironic usage of the words "slut" and "whore." So thanks for sharing doggie but please take your brilliant pop culture critique OT where it belongs...

I thought this post was going to be about Taylor Tsantles, who is indeed BOTH "teen & hubby." Am disappointed now. :)
