I wonder if he'll come out with some major sin confession and say it was the reason his home was destroyed.  Of course the sin wouldn't be his doing, but his wife's.

That this is a possibility is so true and so sad.  These people take mental gymnastics to Olympic levels.  Tony Perkins would get at "10" for cognitive dissonance.

Saw an item on the news about people in my area gathering materials to send to those in flooded areas of Louisiana.  Many boxes of Bibles were included.  Sigh.  However, if it's a church to church effort, those flooded out with just the clothes on their backs might have lost Bibles.....

Dr. Jeff Masters at WeatherUnderground supports Portlight Inclusive Disaster Strategies, a disaster relief organization that focuses on assistance to those with disabilities during natural disasters.  From Portlight, noting the extent of the current disaster and the fact that resources and supplies are already depleted from major flooding in March:

This is particularly troublesome for a state that is still in recovery from major flooding just last March. Many resources are completely depleted because of the March flooding. There is an urgent need for durable and consumable medical supplies as well as housing.

Portlight has begun to participate in daily meetings with local stakeholder organizations to coordinate durable and consumable medical supply needs. Portlight is also working very closely with the American Red Cross to ensure all shelters are meeting the needs of people with disabilities.

Absolutely horrible about the flooding in Louisiana. Hopefully all FJers in the area and their loved ones are doing okay!

As others have said, interesting how it's a test for him whereas an identical situation for someone who doesn't believe (or doesn't believe the exact same things) would be punishment. That sort of thinking is so destructive and weaselly. Also, odd how the terrible storms happened in a state prone to these sort of issues (despite it being in the Bible Belt)... almost like it's from some combination of scientific factors, and not some warped way for God to help this guy prove his holiness.

Apparently, the Drumpf donated $$$ to Tony's church, when he flew into the area.  Whether the donation was made before of after Drumpf distributed Play-Doh is unknown.
