I just searched the LFOP blog and I can't find the post anymore about the shunning of Bobs family. It must be gone. :my_confused:

And yet, worrying about things that don't matter much seem to be a fundie hallmark.

Yeah, I think the cutting off the inlaws post disappeared in The Great Blog Purge.

Erika absolutely has to read here. Otherwise I don't think she would have seen anything wrong with the things she had posted and would have kept them up.

Dammit, Erika.

We've been posting about her for years, though, why take down the posts now?

The Shupes have been taking advantage of their local 7 Eleven giving free Slushies. Brandon now looks a little taller than Anna Marie. Only a little taller, but it's something. Lacey and Lilly look quite similar to Anna Marie. Karen and Melanie look quite different to each other, and the younger girls don't really look like them either. Interesting. (Karen and Melanie aren't in the photo). Also, I can't tell since one is wearing a hoodie, but I think the twins may actually be dressed in differing styles! I've seen that green thing before- pretty sure it's a skirt.

In that pic, I think the boy's garage haircuts by Bob look kind of crappy. I wonder if the posing in a group and taking a picture each time they leave the house ever gets old?

I think Erika wants to expand her audience. She's gotten rid of the more controversial stuff and has a Linked In page now. I think she's seen the success of Kondo and wants in on that.

Imagine that book though.... so many *cheers* when you declutter a room, Erika style.

Those scrapbooks aren't going to fill themselves! She also needs to take pictures so she can post them on FB to show how great of a mom she is. *smile*

Erika's all about healthy, whole foods eating, but as soon as anywhere gives out free stuff she's there.

She's never about healthy, whole foods. She SAYS she is, and perhaps she even THINKS she is, but she absolutely isn't. Most of her recipes are full of crap.

This is exactly how I feel when she posts her sugar-free hot chocolate recipe or her pasta with honey recipe. Then, she had a blog post about how she lost the baby weight, and it was basically a low-carb diet. That makes sense and she got healthier and felt so much better. But after that, she's written how *GOOD* for us grains are since cows eat nothing but grass and are all muscle. Well humans aren't cows, we don't process grains in the same way and obviously grains aren't that good for us if you needed to go off of them to lose weight and get healthy. I've never understood that contradiction in her recommendations. Thankfully, I don't get my nutritional advice from Erika Shupe.

Haha, lions and tigers don't eat grass and they are truly all muscle.  I have to thank Erika for providing comedic relief with her rationales.

It was very low calorie, low fat, low meat, low carb. I think it was less that 1000 calories per day. Since then she's mentioned being mostly vegetarian.

But yes, all her recipes are crap. That hot chocolate recipe can hardly be considered food. And most of the food pictures she does are hot dogs, fat food ice cream, etc.

Eta, the diet entry is still on the blog. It was just lean protein and vegetables with no added fat. Well oops, I thought I was editing.

This is so true of many fundies! Like ZZ! They say they are interested in eating good food, but then they are constantly "treating" the kids (and themselves) to free or cheap junk food. They have a "just this once because we eat so healthy" attidude but it seems to happen all the time.

I prefer not to treat junk food as a extra-special-aren't-we-lucky treat. I think that just glorifies it to children. I try to show them how tasty a well-cooked steak or a salad can be. If some junk food crosses our paths, we'll probably partake in some, but without all the fanfare and excitement.

Never forget how Erika once said eating veggies and stuff is good for her childrens' pallets. PALLETS.

We seriously need to compile an FJ dictionary of Erikaisms.

I thank God for the Erika-isms. They brighten my day. :pb_lol: Keep doing you, Mrs. Shupe.

Merry Janes

keeping their hair strait

I love them all, they're so wacky. And of course, who could forget that she created the word "decluttering?"

If constipation begins to occur take a natural laxative for the remainder of the diet.

Well. There's your 2 lbs lost per week. *chuckle*

Also. Balsamic vinegar is forbidden, but "onion soup mix packets" are okay. *girl please.*

What's particularly sad/funny is when erika misspells something and a photo of whatever she's talking about it is in the blog, complete with correct spelling. This happened with the Sweedish Fish and also with what she called "Paul Mitchel."

I love baseball but I'm dreading the new season because the White Sox ownership is THE FUCKING WORST. I watched Dominican League Baseball (Lidom!) over the winter and fell in love with their joy, spirit, and exuberance. The broadcasts were in Spanish and my Spanish is pretty weak but I loved catching phrases and repeating them. Bombe! I'm sad about MLB and Commissioner Idiota's busywork rules. But I love baseball, always and forever.
I guess I don't have a point. Just bitching. Te amo mucho, Lidom!

      Happy International Women's Day!

Humanity may have some work to do, to improve gender equality, but I was glad to hear that France has taken an important step to protect healthcare for women (and people of other genders who can get pregnant).

Feeling ragey this morning. I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon in the hope of getting help for an ongoing injury. I went to a (different!!) doctor late last year who completely blew me off. He wouldn't do diagnostic testin, he refused to send me to a specialist, and he just told me to "take it easy" and "take ibuprofen." I'm hopeful for today's appointment but I'm also feeling a SEVERE amount of rage at that doctor from last year!

Well, the rash is back with a vengeance. It never completely cleared up. I saw the derm yesterday and they did another swab and yup, raging infection again, still? It is definitely strep skin infection. I am getting so damn tired and run down from this. Who the f would immagine being hospitalized freaking TWICE for a rash?

My niece is going to be a seat filler at this year's Academy Awards.  Seat fillers are asked to wear tuxedos regardless of sex/gender.  If you see a pretty young woman with very curly hair, it could be my niece.

It’s not supposed to be mosquito season right now but I still appear to have been bitten twice on the side of my foot. Bastards. I know I shouldn’t scratch but it’s so tempting… 😑
