Authorities say a video that a Dubuque man posted on a popular social media app showing him holding a stolen gun led to state and federal charges.

According to state court documents, Dahson A. Rhone, 23, of 2163 Washington St., told police that on April 10 he saw Adams holding Rhone's stolen gun in a video on the social media app Snapchat. Rhone had reported the gun missing following a February burglary.

Police located Adams about an hour later at Club 23, 1902 Central Ave., court documents said. Adams was wearing the same clothes as seen in the Snapchat video.

Adams was patted for weapons and had the stolen gun in his waistband, according to court documents.

Unfortunately he hasn't been the only criminal "master mind" to post a hey look at me  and my crime video/picture.

I've heard people actually brag about a crime they have committed. Like for some strange reason they are proud of it. People are strange sometimes.

Dumb criminal stories fascinate me. I saw  ashow once where the idots filmed themselves ramming the car into a tree trying to cheat an auto insurance company.

There are entire Tumblr blogs run by monumentally stupid teens/young adults to document their shoplifting escapades.

I heard a story once about a burglar who got caught because he used a computer in the house he broke into, to check his Facebook, and forgot to log out.

Hilarious. I watched this dumb criminal program back in the early 2000s and one that stood out involved  a man putting up a in public saying "Pot for Sale" The two cops laughed their behinds off.

There really are some dumb criminals, from posting incriminating stuff on social media to falling asleep in the house they wanted to rob, the internet is full of hilarious stories. :tw_joy:
