Maybe Dillon has shown Amy that she is truly valuable as a person in her own right; she has no need to kiss Duggar ass to be seen as a good person or succeed in life. You know she had to be made to feel less than by those assholes. Which makes it so much sweeter that golden child Josh has been exposed for the POS he is.

I hope she doesn't go to the wedding

stage a protest Amy

I disagree to a point. If Amy is not invited however Jinger really, really wants her there, I hope Amy crashes the wedding. And if TLC and Jboob won't let her in, I hope she records it and sells the video to tmz. :D

When did she say she wasn't allowed to visit her cousins alone? I haven't heard this before.

I think she is allowed to visit on her own, but her cousins are not allowed to come to her house or go out with her alone. If she wants to see them, it has to be at the TTH. I'm thinking she said as much in an interview a few months ago, but don't quote me on that.

So, I actually went back and checked. Here you go: http://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/amy-duggar-jim-bob-and-michelle-duggar-think-im-a-bad-influence-w166441

Amy posted that they are at the SEMA conference in Vegas, which doesn't end until tomorrow (Friday)--assuming they are driving back--how they are going to make it to a Saturday wedding in Arkansas? I wish I could remember the name of Dillon's business--I'd check to see if he's an exhibitor.

I guess Dillon has a car on exhibit with some group there?

Amy continues to post from Vegas on Instagram.

This post, I think, implies that is missing, or will miss, Jinger's wedding:

Or maybe she is missing the rehearsal dinner and will make it back in time for the wedding tomorrow? I would be really surprised if she actually missed the wedding.

Possibly--but she didn't say "Miss you! See you soon!"

I'm still unsure she would've even been invited to the wedding? But if she was at the bridal shower I am guessing she was?

I would imagine you don't invite people to the bridal shower that aren't coming to the wedding?

Or am I getting this wrong? I've never been married.

That picture Amy posted with Jinger is from the shower. I think it was sincerely a conflict of events, although she COULD have flown home a day early and left Dill in Vegas to finish out the last day of SEMA on his own.

She posted on snapchat that they didn't leave Vegas until early Saturday afternoon, Vegas time. Jinger's wedding/reception were wrapping up about that time. The timing of her posts was...interesting.

Yes, she could definitely have flown across for the wedding if she was invited and wanted to go.  He wouldn't have been invited to the shower, so it was ok for Amy to go alone to that.

But If  (and this is just a theory) Dillon was the "insider"  who leaked the family goss after the Josh scandals, maybe he wasn't invited to the wedding, and Amy  has decided to stand by her man.

I wonder if Amy skipped the wedding because she knew Josh was going to be there and we all know how she feels about Josh lol

I think it's more likely that it was a scheduling conflict because of how short an engagement JinJer as. But if you're right then it's better she did the responsible thing by not attending and posting a nice message instead. My husband's grandparents and Aunt all refused to attend our wedding a year ago because of family issues with his parents. It sucked and really hurt at first - especially because his grandma sent a passive aggressive note with the RSVP - but everyone agrees now that we had a way better time without them there. No one had to worry about an argument breaking out and there was no awkward seating plan rearrangement going on either.

It would have been easy enough for them to try and avoid Josh because it was such a big wedding, but there still would have been times they would have likely needed to interact. As much as I hate their beliefs, JinJer still deserved to have a good time at their own wedding.

It is absolutely a breach of etiquette to invite someone to a shower but not the associated wedding.  But who knows about the Duggars.

Huh--

I've attended MANY workplace, and some non-workplace wedding showers in which many of the attendees/giftgivers were not invited to the actual wedding, and didn't expect to be.

[But I also mainly move in a social world in which weddings are understood to be expensive undertakings that involve real food and beverage--not 1,000 person cattle calls]

Work showers are different. If a personal friend or family member throws a shower for the bride that consists of the bride's personal friends and family, rules of etiquette states those friends and family should be wedding invitees.

Now, not everyone follows the rules of etiquette.  But if traditional etiquette is important to someone, that's how it is done.

Amy's quoting Sir Mix A Lot? Nice!

I haven't checked this thread in a while, so it's nice to see a Duggar do something defrauding & worldly. Let's hope some of her cousins follow suit. (A pipe dream, I know.)

I really wish that some of her cousins would question why she's living the life but not conservative like them.

I'm pretty sure they would be shoved in the prayer closet if they asked that.

Sadly, I am sure they think she is doomed to Hell and maybe feel sorry for her. I know that is how my cousins feel about me. *tangent alert* They aren't fundie, but attend  a very, let's say interesting and enthusiastic huge evangelical church. I can't figure out if the church is its own brand of Christianity or what they are. It is a fast growing church though, number two in the nation according to the interwebs last I looked.

Just noticed that Amy's Instagram account is now private. Wonder what's up with that.

Maybe she found us? Too many people asking questions in the comment section? It's hard to tell with her.

It's strange.  She seemed to thrive on publicity. Maybe too many questions of why she didn't attend JInger's wedding and she's tired of answering.  There is a dillandduggs website under construction.
