Kansas Voter Registration Chaos

Well in addition to that little Spanish Voter's Guide issue (where the registration deadlines in a Voting Guide for Spanish speakers was wrong) they apparently are holding registrations in limbo.  Kansas (along with Georgia, Alabama & Arizona) requires proof of citizenship to vote.  So registrations are now being held up for those registering via federal forms including vehicle registration (those of us who are old enough remember this as Motor-Voter).

So if you federal register you can only vote in federal races but not state races.  Let's not ignore the fact that Sec of State Kris Kobach is up for re-election this year.

Quote

— Of the more than 22,000 submitted voter registration applications submitted between Feb. 1 and Feb. 21, only 7,444 were completed with proof of citizenship, State Elections Director Bryan Caskey said. That meant the majority of those registrants were put on the suspense list, and their voting registrations will be purged after 90 days unless proper documents are submitted.
