Oh wonderful... Courageous Ads

Trailers for "Courageous" have made it to cable TV (during a repeat episode of Project Runway, which I found hilarious).

The clip had a guy on a stage asking where the courageous "people" were. I must assume the audience was all male, since we all know that striving toward the patriarchal model is the goal of this movie.

At any rate, I think the slot they got won't put too many butts in the seats, what with all the heathen wimmens and teh gheys watching a PR marathon.

I really don't want to be subjected to this for the next two weeks; I'll have to take refuge on Bravo or LOGO where there is ZERO chance of the trailer seeing the light of day. Once was enough.

I may have to sneak into the beginning of it the next time I go see a real movie. I'm curious what coming attactions will be permitted in that movie considering that even disney stuff is too gay friendly for them!

They probably have no control over the "coming attractions."

I've been seeing the ads here in heathen San Francisco. I've seen it at least 3 times, it's killing me! I have to admit that I think all of them were during Dr. Phil in the past 3 days.

I saw a trailer while watching "I didn't know I was pregnant". It was for Corageous in Canada. Why did you have to let them infiltrate the country. Why Canada, WHHHHHHYYYY? I do know where it's playing here, and it's for sure not a major theatre. I've never been there. But it's a real theatre and normal people go there, so this is scary.

I'm also in heathen SF (Oakland, actually) and besides the placement during Project Runway, I laughed at the geographical buy. We're more Sunday paper/coffee/brunch types around here.

I can't remember what show I was watching when I saw it. I was kind of surprised and my husband was all "Well that looks lame."

We've seen the trailer on TV here, too. Inexplicably, it keeps airing during The Soup and it's kind of weird to see that mixed in with all the Plan B and condom ads that normally air in that slot. It's been on several times and my husband has been amusing himself making up alternate dialogue for it. He also thinks it would benefit from a good Bollywood dance number or two.

I couldn't resist watching an episode of Toddlers and Tiaras last night that focused on "pagent dads". Yes the men were spray tanning their daughters and putting Red Bull into baby bottles.

They showed the same preview for Courageous! It seemed pretty ironic because I don't know how many fundies would approve of allowing a 16 year old to wear make up, let alone a 18 MONTH old.

Hmm, maybe that was where I saw the Courageous trailer. I saw it during a more mainstream show recently but couldn't remember what it was. I thought they downplayed the religious aspect in the short trailer...the guy at the end was probably preaching from a pulpit, but you wouldn't be able to tell that for sure in the clip. It also looked like the kind of movie that might air on the Hallmark Channel or something, not a movie that would actually be released in theaters. The plot is just really uninspired and overdone.

So we can have something to laugh at? That's my guess anyway.

Maybe this one?

You made my night, Benny Lava.

And we totally need a Bollywood smilie. That would be awesome. Maybe with anacondas?

Just saw a commercial for it on TLC (it's about 12:15 A.M.)! It was ridiculous. Not too surprising for TLC, I guess. I wonder if the advertising is in any way connected to the Duggars?

Didn't you know Oakland is ok, since that's Family Radio HQ? (I grew up listening to Mr. Camping's Open Forum with my parents, and at the end of each broadcast he'd recite the address to reach him at, always ending in 'Oakland, California, 94621'.

      Stupid loneliness!
Kid 1 went back to college (yeah! But sad foe me, she stayed with me all summer. It was nice to start a new phase in our mother/daughter relationship)
Zero prospects on dates. (Not that I have tried online dating, scared of that but I have reached put to a new group at church, etc.
I asked a friend to go to dinner the other night so I wasn't eating alone, again. The friend had plans, all my friends always have plans. I see stuff on social media, I'm never invited. I'm single, I'm the 3rd or 5th wheel.
My one parent friend at kid 2's fall sport won't be there because their daughter made varsity (Yeah for her!!! Seriously happy for her. Sad for me for another sport I basically sit alone, did that majority of spring and summer sporting events.)
And now I'm crying as my mom told me 2 different funny stores that former teachers remembered about my twin. Both stories were about how they got a crack out of my twin's antics (my parents went to a funeral today and saw former colleagues). Teachers remember me (after all I was a twin and teachers' kid) but none would have memorable stories of me.
      I feel invisible.
Don't worry, this will pass,  it always does. I just need a pity party for a few days. I'm not in anyway going to harm myself. As lonely as I am, I have a very full life I (usually) love. I just needed to vent and cry for a moment.
If you are still reading this, thanks Fjer. 😊

Absolutely awful about the fires on Maui. In 2019, I stayed in Lahaina. I liked to sit on the sea wall, which is the only structure left now, and watch the water. People are receiving help, but many had to leave pets. Please donate to the Maui Humane Society, which is leading efforts to find, treat, and reunite pets.

Nebraska’s new football coach, who is involved in an organization called Man Up Ministries, labels certain players “Alphas” and sometimes “extreme Alphas” and the local paper has a nice piece on why people objecting to the term “alpha male” are wrong and it has a “nice ring”. 🤮🤮🤮🤮
