Jill and Jessa Counting On - Part 4

Recap from Part 3:

Jana and Jinger are supposedly breaking jender roles by doing house repairs and selling cars.

Jinger's role in flipping the car is questionable.

Ben is snarky about the word babysitting when it applies to parenting his kid (gee, wonder why?)

Joy's "episode" is coming up on April 5.

The Duggars are as awkward as ever.

Take it away, y'all!

So if the girls are doing "manly" things, does that mean the guys are going to do "girly" things in "their" episodes?  Because I'm sure somewhere there's a giant pile of laundry that JD can take care

I want a show! This morning I woke up and dressed myself.  I purposed to go to work without stopping at einsteins for an everything bagel with cream cheese. I fed and walked the dog because

I can already tell that Joy's episode is just going to make me cringe even more than the previous episodes.

How many times do you think the words "ladylike" and "tomboy" will be used in the Joy episode?

Jana does stuff with treehouses and lights.

Jinger does stuff with cars.

What "masculine" activity do you assume Joy will partake in? I bet you TLC googles activities for guys and assigns one to each of the girls. Oh, and I bet you Joy isn't courting or interested in anyone either. Cuz so far, Jana and John haven't mentioned anyone.

Was Joy the one who on a long-ago episode didn't want to nap? And was told that you nap until you are 6 or something by Jessabitch? And then when she did say OK got taken to task for not saying "yes, Ma'am." Say it again, "yes, "ma'am."

My synopsis for this series as a whole: Here's a whole bunch things the kidadults totally do (or don't do) all the time despite the fact that it's all either completely absent from previous decade worth of film we have on them or is in complete opposition to it.  But we swear this time it's for reals.

Also two things that I was thinking watching this: 1: I know others have said this but I have to comment on the utter lack of toys for either Spurgeon or Izzy. Izzy in particular seems desperate for some teethers. Seriously though, I've never seen a house with a baby with a toyless living room before Bin and Jessa's.  And 2: Are we seriously expected to believe that JB and Michelle were not involved in "Jinger's" car flipping or "Jana's" treehouse? (Quotes because they neither of them seem particularly involved in wither project beyond watching) Cause I'm not buying it.

Just finished reading part 3! Here is my :twocents-02cents:

1) I live in Texas and yes sometimes in the summer it was just way too damn hot to play (run around) outside. Fortunately, I grew up with a pool in my backyard and we lived in the pool during the summer. My mom didn't like us to be outside for too long during the heat of the day (12-3pm) because of 'sun sickness'. I am not quite sure what the real term for sun sickness or if it's just a regional term, but my sister had it once and she got extremely itchy, sunburned, and fatigued.

2) Yes only children are great. On the flip side, I am one of 5 kids and loved growing up in a big family. All 5 of us are close, my younger sister and I are seriously best friends. There is something about the bond of sibling that a friend just can't replace IMO. So family strife and discord isn't always the case in big families just like not every only child grow up to be an entitled spoiled brat that never had to share anything in their life.

3) This episode was hard for me to watch.... And I was a Duggar Huggar pre stumbling onto FJ after clicking on this link while googling courtship rumors, back when I thought they were quirky and I had a similar but very very lite religious upbringing and could relate  (I started watching 19KaC to bond with my mom who LOVES them still, what can I say she is a southern baptist and believes its wholesome TV)

SO THAT IS SAYING A LOT

That was Johannah, but the two of them are very similar in personality.

In this new season of life, I, like, can no longer be a tomboy, so I, like, purpose to be more ladylike and stuff.

Haha, I feel like this right now. I didn't have any orange juice for mimosas, but I did have watermelon juice.

Champagne and watermelon juice, tastes A LOT like Boone's Farm Strawberry whatever.

I have a feeling that with the Duggar clan...you either hold the baby or you put the baby in a swing/bouncer/in a pack n play. I'm sure they don't even know what the term "tummy time" means. So I am not too shocked to see no toys laying around.

Just sat through the 10 minute sneak peak for the upcoming episode. Sierra has been bumped up to TH status sitting next to Jessa. Andddd, the party of the year for a girl named Kristin we've never been introduced to before. Stop trying to make this happen, TLC, it's not going to happen! Lastly, the baby boy is going to be named Brecken. It's nowhere near Spurgeon territory, but I'm an avid skier, so every time I heard the name, I automatically added "Ridge." Breckenridge, Colorado DOES have some amazing skiing lol.

I knew a kid called Brecon, named after the Brecon Beacons in Wales. I thought it was a nice name. Who is Kristin?

I got a webcam. Plugged it in. Did some tests. I managed to have it on and pointing at me for several seconds before the panic started. I look like shit on camera, but I'm guessing that everyone without professional makeup and lighting does, plus it's a basic low-def camera, so even the pros wouldn't look great. My living room has nothing embarrassing in the background, though if I angle it just right my zombie aardvark painting* is visible.
Next step: Zoom meeting with my housemate (who is well aware of my issues and really good at just letting me deal with it my way). But not today. I've done more than enough for today. Back into the box the blasted thing goes.

*Zombie aardvark painting: https://www.deviantart.com/thedarkcloak/art/Zombie-Aardvark-413059923   I sent the high-resolution file to a print shop and had it printed on canvas, then got it framed. It looks amazing. I paid far too little for it, so if I ever find myself flush with cash, I'll give the artist a very belated tip.
