Well, remember they did have that huge yard sale because they were moving into a much smaller house.  They just didn't mention the move was to CO.

Per Realtor.com this house was built in 1903 and has 4 beds, 2 baths, 1,332 sq ft, 4,792 sq ft lot, and is now off the market.  Price is estimated at $554,151 - Yes, I'd say Durango is pretty expensive.

The house looks small but is absolutely adorable. I'd move in in a blink. The whole street looks great with old cottages and big trees. *sigh*

I'll speculate that they've all moved there, except for JTitus and Justice.  (Justice is off doing his own thing and JTitus is still off courting the Sproul girl.)

Doug and Beall wouldn't leave the little ewe lambs alone in TX.  So I'm guessing Beall is living there with the girls and Honor.  That house is going to feel really cramped compared to what they were used to in TX.

Doug will be fine though - he's apparently off tripping the light fantastic with nubile young fillies in vintage glasses.

So young Justice is 22 now.  Doug's ugly duckling has grown into his face and cleans up very nicely.  I find him better looking than Jtits who has too many teeth for my taste.  Justice needs to get rid of the straggly beard permanently though.  It does not suit him.

Realtor and Zillow both say the house was last sold in January 2008 for $470,000. So either they've owned it for a while or someone is letting them crash there.

After her graduation from William & Mary it gets murky, but I don't believe she ever got a law degree, because if she had, both she and Doug would have been flaunting how she had the option of going to court every day and arguing with penis-ed people but chose to be a good, obedient woman instead.

Right, and I don't think she ever was enrolled in law school – – but there was a very early story that she attended classes with Doug and showed more potential than him, actually,  from the questions she answered and in the concepts she comprehended.

What did Durango do to deserve them?! Cute little town, for sure. The house looked a little over-valued compared to others similar to it, which makes me think he's living there at the largesse of a benefactor.

justice sure looks like he's totally over it at the Alamo picture. Which begs the question  – why do "proud" Texans pose cheerfully in front of the Alamo? It's sacred ground, people! I've been to Texas a couple of times, don't think I could live there, but there's a lot there that I admire. Just a peeve of mine, especially when it involves tools.

IIRC,  there's another son named Providence. Poor kid. Anyway, it seems curious that the gruesome twosome and six of their children could be living in 1300 ft.²  after having enjoyed the highlife of an in-home pool and everything else. Makes me think there's definitely a second home involved, I'm betting in Texas.

I had another thought, looking at all the pictures of the '40s people, and then the family photo at the Alamo. Seems that the everyday dress code for the females in the cult has changed from long skirt modern to 1940s vintage. And as usual, the males' "code" is just to dress any way they frickin  well please.

"The Handmaid's Tale," anyone? *shudder*

EDITING TO ADD (oh lawsy, no one will ever finish this bear of a long post) Is Doug's sister, dba Alessandra Rossi-Filippi, still living & working in Europe (Germany) in the opera?  Remember that story that  Doug and Beall tried to discourage her from leaving to go back to her career, saying her eternal soul was in jeopardy?  IIRC and its possible I'm not, they actually had hands on her, and she had to physically extricate herself.

Shoot, yes.  I forgot to add that detail above.  Thanks.  I was assuming they are renting.  They been renting in TX ever since the Tool was evicted from the huge rent-free house with the baptismal swimming pool that Leininger gave VFM.

Longtime lurker. Grateful for this site.

This seems odd about the former owner/resident of the house in Durango. Seems he died there just a few weeks before some have speculated they took up residence??

Beall did not take law classes. It is correct she went along with Doug to classes at George Mason before he graduated in 1993.  They married in 1992 but she lived and worked in Texas before they were married.

Yes, it's in the original and charming part of town, and easy to walk to all the stores, restaurants, coffee shops and brew pubs on the main street and a block over.  It is a cute house, but those old houses, even small ones,  might be hard to heat during a high elevation (6,500') Durango winter.

It's an interesting town.  My impression was that the rampant tourism/nearby ski resort/small college lent it a liberal air.  Underneath that are long time locals who are a hard-core rural conservative base.

I'd be living there, but when I sold my place 30 miles away from there 20 years ago, I couldn't even afford the down payment on the cheapest house in town.

@Quinquagenarian, that is some powerful google-fu!  The previous occupant was quite a character, married and divorced at least 3 times!

I completely lack google-fu but I think the address is wrong for Preston C. King.  I may certainly be wrong.

Frontotemporal dementia. :( So sad, for him, and his family and friends.  That dx was the same as Charmian Carr's (Liesl).  There are so many forms of dementia.

Per the La Plata County, Colorado assessor's office website, the house is owned by Sam and Heidi King. Their home address is listed as 449 E 4TH AVE in Durango. Curiouser and curiouser.

Actually that clarifies.  The celebration of Preston King's life (or wake) was at that address.  Sounds like a relative.

Just some thoughts/puzzle piecing.  The redhead girl in the "Cordials" picture with DPIAT and the young girls has some resemblance to his sisters--one of whom was a redhead.  Could it be a niece? Or just a girl the same age as daughter/niece?  Is he in Europe? Does Durango have all this retro dance scene?

From what is online, it appears Beall and JTits are the only two in the family who seem to express spiritual or Christian thoughts now.  Is the Sproul/Phillips wedding still on?

The girls are all Retro-40's and Running marathons (that is so far away from their previous Elsie Dinsmore life) and Justice seems devoted to his outdoorsman's life (good for him). The younger sons, as others have said, are hidden from sight practically like Prince Michael and Blanket.

There was a big deal made about them going to some large Baptist church in San Antonio. I would not imagine the church scene is so similar in Durango.

Is there pot in the lindy hop dancefloors of Colorado?:pufff:

Part four of How Not to do What DPIAT Will Do:

Doug points out Joab being complicit in the murder of Uriah, and says men can find other men to help them cover up their sins, especially men who have power and influence. They find men motivated by power and influence to help them commit crimes, and justify it by saying it’s for the greater good of preserving the operation. Men of dark hearts will come to the aid of a renegade leader. I have wondered for a very long time, as I know others here have as well, who else at VF knew about Doug molesting Lourdes. And how long did they know and keep quiet about it?

Doug invites his son back up to read chapter 12, regarding David’s condemnation and judgement.

Doug asks the boys in the audience: If you pull the covers up over your bed, can you hide from God? What if you go into a closet and shut the door? What if you go deep sea diving in the deepest part of the ocean? What if you went with Mr. Phillips into outer space? Can you ever hide from God? Is God watching you right now? There are resounding choruses of “yes” and “no” as appropriate.

Doug tells the boys what his pastor told him as a boy, “be sure your sins will find you out,” and “there is pleasure in sin for a season.” He tells them that they might be able to hide sin from their Daddy, but God will still see it.

Nathan risked his life to bring God’s accusation to the king. David pronounces a four-fold judgement on the man who stole his neighbor’s lamb in Nathan’s story. Doug asks us how often do we get angry when we hear of injustice, but we can’t see the injustice we commit in our lives. David’s four-fold judgement came back on David (the death of his child, the rape of his daughter Tamar, Absalom murdering Amnon, and Absalom’s treason.)

Nathan understood that obedience to God to the point of death is better than long life of rebellion and disobedience. David, seeing Nathan’s obedience, does “what Bill Clinton would not do… what so many men will not do” they won’t tell the truth and cover their sins. David confessed his sin, he expected to die for it, God forgave him. He didn’t make excuses for his sin. From this, we got David’s repentance psalm, psalm 51.

David is forgiven, but there are consequences for his sin. If you confess your sin you will be forgiven, but we live with the consequences of foolish mistakes we’ve made (Doug says he does, too.) David will be haunted by judgements. David loves his son, and mourns his death. David’s first wife was barren, so David must have been so excited about his son. God promises that someone else will sleep with his wives, and David’s son, Absalom does that exact thing when he tries to take over the kingdom. “What a father allows in moderation, a child takes to excess.” Despite all this, there is still restoration between God and David, through Solomon, Bathsheba’s second son. Solomon is a blessing out of judgement.

Scripture doesn’t record Bathsheba’s journey of healing, but Doug thinks there’s evidence of it in her writing Proverbs 31.

Be willing to deal with the consequences of your sin, totally surrender yourself to God, and seek his forgiveness.

Doug encourages the fathers and sons to covenant with God to hold themselves accountable before the Lord on the things of the flesh. Doug talks of two of his sons who travel with him, and will avoid magazine stands in the drugstore. He also talks about when he was a driver for Billy Graham, and Billy Graham’s promise to never be alone with a woman who is not a member of his family. Doug tries to do that in Vision Forum, which is why they’re a staff of men. However, sin and a desperate heart can find its way. That line about sin and a desperate heart was definitely the best line in the whole speech.

Look at the boy next to you, and remember the struggles you went through. Do you want your son to struggle like you did, and make some of the choices you did? If not, live wisely.

Doug finishes up with a prayer that God would break the “spirit of pornographic wickedness” that might be in the heart of any of the men there, because it is the abomination of our generation. He prays that families would be free from adultery, fornication, and divorce. He prays that the boys there would never kiss a girl until they come to the altar, and that their daughters would be protected.

End scene.

Just looked at Heidi King's Facebook page, and let's just say she is NOT aligned with the Phillips on political issues. That makes it unlikely that the house is some kind of charity offering, like Leininger did for them in Texas.

Good. Let them pay.

So excited to read this!  IIRC, at least one of the boys does triathlons.

It appears he was/is in Europe. Possibly at some club called "Radio Modern". (I'm basing that off of FB tags and such.)

I just wasted a bunch of time stalking DPIAT and trying to find his various social media accounts. Looks like he *might* have a Youtube channel titled "Walrus Stories". (Again, that guess is based on FB connections, tags, and the like from his DW Cinematographer account.) He also has a .com website called CinemaofWonder, and a vimeo channel titled "scenesfromabeautifulworld".

(Not sure if this is all already common knowledge, but searching didn't pull it up, so...)

Staff of men, my ass, Doug! You mean that the people who had actual titles and were actually paid were men. The "girls" who "volunteered" their nights and weekends to pack up your crap might not have been called "staff," but they were THERE.

Ugh ugh ugh. Thank you for bringing to light. Guess he is applying all those questions to himself as he films all the dance floor frolics.

Wonder why they have "temporarily" moved to another state?

Also, after perusing through Beall's IG photos several things stand out.  1) So many photo's, so little of them with Doug  2) The poor woman seems to be deluded.  While she'd posting of her husband's love and how she cherishes him, he seems to be having an awfully good time in Europe, with the ladies (for the Glory of God, no doubt)  3) Hiking the PCT (2600 miles!), 100-300 hikes, Tri-athalons, Marathons, 100 mile runs in 30 hours... where to they get the time/money?  And does any of that seem a bit odd to anyone else?
