Blathering on - Part 2

Back at Jessa's house... she hold spurge.  She tells us that she's having a "fall feast" and they are going shopping to buy supplies.  She breastfeeds under a blanket while talking to the camera.  She's made meals for the family but never a "feast."  

Jinger, Joy, and Jana show up.  They fight over holding the spurge.  They discuss what food to buy.  Turkey, pumplin pie... Jessa wants to buy premade. They want boxed stuffing, jinger says no.  They have to "make it look like we know how to cook." 

JInger - everything cant be how you like it. For homemade things, it would be a lot so we decided to choose what we want homemade and buy the rest.  

Johanna will make green bean casserole, Joy can make spaghetti and mashed potatoes NOT from a box, she can google it. 

Joy - I wouldnt undertake this on my own, I cant cook.... 

Jinger will make corn and frozen dinner rolls.

Jessa will make a turkey.

Jessa says they've been married for a year and havent had the whole family over yet.  She doesnt want to scare people away HOLY KRAZY EYES...

Joy says "lets go spurge" as they go out the door.

In the bedroom, Anna packs under a sign that says "sisters."  She tells us that she is going to a "facility" where JOSHUA is, its been 3 months and she hasnt seen him.  She shows no emotion but holy self tanner... 

She tells us the bag isnt all luggage, its a "goodie box" too.  We can safely assume "goodie box" doesnt include sex toys and porn.

Anna says that 6 months ago the reports of "WRONG CHOICES" joshua made AS A TEENAGER were released to themedia and then a second HUGE media storm revealed that he was "unfaithful" and had accounts for cheating on your spouse... your world was instantly shattered... questions in her mind were overwhelming. After that was shared there was a "what do we do from here?"

She dresses the baby... says that she's taking her to see daddy.  They sent him to a "christian recovery" center.  It was not something that happened overnight, long term would be helpful for "our family."  Its been "good for our hearts to have this time to get help separately." but its also hard... She puts a stupid headband on Meredith.  At theend of the day, its different because she's alone. Josh should be there too... Its hard "we"miss this "season of life" together.

Jana - Anna has been incredible for this whole time.  Most people would have given up and have pushed everything aside, I cant walk though this... but she has learned to go on with that pain and face it, and to... I dont know how she's done it... asking god for strength, she's incredible.

Anna gets into the car, she's excited to see smuggles but also is realizing she's coming face to face with painful memories.  She never thought she would walk through so its hard but she doesnt kow how to handle, but knows she can pray.  She hears a 'message' about doing the right thing... have the right response for the next 15 minutes.  (WTF?)

I only have three thoughts so far:

1) My heart breaks for Anna and what she has been though.

2) Jessa actually had emotions.  When she was talking about matchmaking for John, she actually looked sad that her suggestions were not appreciated, and then remembered she has to "keep sweet"

3) So much for Joy having all those good wife skills, she admits she cannot cook much.

Blathering on - Part 3

CENTRAL AMERICA! THE WHOLE PLACE!

The Jillards give poor people shit... Derrick tells us that god sent them there. They speak spanish... 

Jill says they are "adopting" to the mission field. Derrick preaches twice a week.  They go into the community and things are smooth.  

Jill takes us on a tour.  A ukulele plays in the backgrond.  Jill shows us the kitchen with "lots of cabinet space"  A sign on the barred doors says "as for my house we will serve the lord." Shouldnt that be in spanish?  Its handwritten, would that be too hard to translate?  I'm pretty sure I saw a keurig on the counter.

We see her bedroom, Derrick sits on the bed with izzy.  The toilet has glade vanilla air freshening spray on it.  There is a "guest bedroom with a bunk bed.  Izzy sleeps in a pack n play.  The porch has a clothesline (but there is a washer in the kitchen).  The back porch has an amazing view.

Derrick feeds izzy some green mush.  Jill tells us that Izzy is growing a lot.  They take videos and pictures.  Izzy crawls on a blanket... He grabs a marker.  Derrick says he has to eat so he can crawl.  He then stands up on a chair... There is a PILE of colored bowls.

Jill complains they saw a cougar next door... they miss family but they are far away that when you connect to wifi you video and text everyone.  She's looking forward to seeing everyone.  

Jessa - we miss j'derrick because they're away from home and its DANGEROUS but god will keep them safe because they're called to be there.  

Jana tells us that they are shopping (at harps) for a fall feast.  They note that they can have a free turkey if they spend $100. Jessa says they can do that because they're feeding 20 people.  They get a ton of premade rolls.

Jinger - we make a lot of food but holiday meals are crazy

They buy frozen corn and joke that "family size" isnt big enough. They need 6 family size.

Jessa wants a ton of butter, she puts like 20 boxes in the cart.

Jessa - my philosophy of butter is "the more the better"

They buy premade cheesecake and discuss pumpkin cheesecake.  They say they'll be fat.  They talk about fruitcake... how appropriate.

They see fruitcake and miss Jill.

They pick up turkeys...

Jana - we worry about J'derrick, they're not in the safest place...

Joy discusses buying spurge food.

Jessa - Its sad knowing that izzy and spurgeon wont get to meet for a while. For now we send videos.

They check out... They grabbed the wrong "free" turkey... and get a different one.  Apparently there are several turkeys.  Jinger is concerned about oven space and counter space.
