I am exclusively breastfeeding my baby and hope to continue until he self weans, and I don't think it matters if Jessa is giving Spud formula or breastmilk.

Ignorance can be quite frustrating. For me...there's no "versus" about it. I think both are great.  Breastfeeding, pumping, formula, or a combination of those...it's all wonderful. They are all hard work in different ways. And they are all perfectly fine and healthy.

Yep. Babies who drink formula are just dying horrific deaths left and right. Just like children who get into car accidents without being in a proper car seat. It's completely the same thing. I see stories about formula deaths every time I open the newspaper! It's a travesty! They should ban the stuff.

Oh wait. That's right...formula has SAVED the lives of many children. Educate yourself.

watching the video - I really think the only reason Ben doesn't take Jessa away from her family is because of the fame and money he can get.   For him to sit there and just be lumped in as a Duggar I don't get  at all.   I also don't believe for a second that JB and Michelle are not in this somehow - or this there way of letting the older kids 'work"

If Jessa really is going out of the country, or on a trip anywhere away from home for more than a night, put me in with the group that believes Ben will definitely be going along with her.  Hopefully Spud will be along as well.  But no way will Ben stay home, especially if there will be filming involved with Jessa's trip.  I watched that short Happy Birthday Derrick clip on the Duggar FB page a few times today.  From the very start, Ben is fidgety, stuck way in the back (with, of course, a cap that just looks stupid on him).  He has to keep quiet through JB's speaking to Derrick about how he's a great dad, great husband, blah, blah, blah, and then right at the end he blurts out something ... I swear it sounds like he says, "Grow with the nerds, the race that is set before you,  look to Christ."  But it's sort out of left field and I wonder if he sort of snuck that in without warning.  

Ben lusts after the limelight.  If Jessa is going anywhere that involves being filmed, or being in front of the public, Ben will be right there beside her, not only basking in the reflected glory but hogging as much of it for himself as he can.

oh good god - I just watched it - Ben needs to be smacked upside his head 

I swear if this is what he signed up for - I see some people running for the hills one day 

he comes across as another son - and not one that even fits in the family.   And why does he even have to be in the video - I am sure he can create his own video where he can look foolish.   He just degrades himself even further - He is not a Duggar - stop trying to pretend to be one -it's not giong go to go well in that respect

I just saw the stupid video. Watching his body language, I felt like he wanted to set himself apart from the others and shout something at the camera. He looks so hyped up for a video message, lol.

Oh, and Ben said, "Run with endurance the race that is set before you looking to Christ." Someone with good hearing commented this on the official Facebook page for the Duggars, so that's how I know.

Bin Bob has integrated fully into the Duggar family. I'm sure Jim Bob had this in mind when choosing potential suitors for his daughters. I just can't see Ben taking Jessa and Spurgeon away from the circus and supporting them independently.

he doesn't have to take her away - but he does have to fit in and he clearly doesn't if he keeps screaming or trying to throw his words in.  If he really did say the above in the other post - why does he have to say that - he is nauseating imo because every time he does this - he looks even worse when he is standing there bobbing around.   He is interchangeable he is trying to be the next Duggar brother.

One of my friends blew through several packs of Juicy Fruit as soon as her vacation in Singapore ended. She said it was like the reverse of that scene in Argo where they have to stop drinking when the plane enters Iranian airspace.

My poor little adopted babies didn't get any breast milk. Somehow they missed the autism, and only one of them's been to jail, nobody has celiac disease, their grades are all over the place, nobody's in ISIS. (yet) Thanks for the laugh this morning!

I kept beating myself up for breastfeeding not working out.  My daughter only got 10 oz a day that I was able to pump out supplemented with formula for the first 10 weeks and just formula afterward.  A good friend who's into natural everything finally said 'you're not giving her poison, you're giving her nutrition'!  She's turning out pretty darn well so it must not have hurt her too badly.

There's apparently an FJer who doesn't like for me to mention breasts or breastfeeding and down votes me for it.  So darn cute.

• got a staph infection from breast feeding my second.  Took the antibiotics, formula fed while on antibiotics, returned to breastfeeding afterward.

If my Grandma didn't use formula my mom and her siblings wouldn't have survived. She simply couldn't produce enough breast milk.

If my sister wasn't supplementing with formula, her son would be struggling right now - she's also have a tough time with production, but she's still breast feeding too. Her month old son is already a food snob; if he had his way he'd only have breast milk.

Tonight's the big night.  The Duggar show airs at 9:00 pm on TLC.  The really funny thing is that the show is up against the election coverage for Super Tuesday.  Poor ol' Josh won't be allowed to watch either one!  He must be full of anxiety right about now.

He will also miss the three-episode show that aired in December where his siblings bad-mouthed him big time.  Those reruns will air again tonight, 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
