I think Anna would panic at the idea of her kids going to a real school, even a Christian one. Not all Christians believe that the earth is 6,000 years old, and who knows what ideas her children might pick up from their peers. I think the Ms are stuck with SOTDRT.

I have no doubt that the could find a school that teaches creationism. 

I love how the People article is full of "I forgive Josh" from a couple of the Duggars, but none of them being the one who matters: Anna. It doesn't matter how Joy or Ben or whoever else feels. It matters how Anna feels. She's the one who is married to him. She's the one who was cheated on. She's the one that was left with 4 kids while he "worked on his faith," rather than his marriage

I can't help but feel for the kids, who have been without a father for half a year. Josh has missed out on the majority of Meredith's life so far.

I'm in no way defending Smugs, but I ache for the M kids who are the ones ultimately suffering due to this clusterfuck. I just hope Anna will put them first in whatever decisions she makes. I hope for the kid's sakes Josh will man the heck up and be a good dad.

I think we can stop discussing about whether or not Anna will leave him.  

At least, if this source is right,  they will have a house, not just be living in a room/cage especially made for Josh at the TTH.

The truly sad part is that being the "perfect fundie wife" didn't hold Josh's interest before. Despite the guilt and reprogramming, it likely won't now.  The problem was never that Anna wasn't pretty enough or a good enough housekeeper.  It was that Josh wants sex with people who aren't Anna because he feels trapped and limited by his lifestyle and was bored with it. So, he created an alter ego who was educated (went to college), "cool" (or what Josh perceived that to be), single and childless (I think, at least with the non-AM account; did he have kids in his AM persona?) who wanted slightly non-vanilla sex without procreation, with multiple women, just for fun! Unless those issues have been addressed - not just suppressed - and Josh is actually engaged in his life and not just going through the motions out of guilt and fear, nothing really has changed. Instead of paying for Prayhab (LOL my phone recognizes that as a word now!), they should have spent the money getting Josh caught up enough to go to some sort of higher learning institution to give him some of the purpose in life he thought he was missing. Also, to help him get a real job. Win for everyone! Instead, they're just treading water.

In principle I agree with this, but Josh is such a scumbag that he doesn't deserve such a wonderful second chance. Instead of paying for Prayhab, Anna should have paid for a divorce lawyer.

This poor girl has been victim blamed to the point that she feels her body and appearance isn't good enough for her husband. Absolutely disgusting. Anna deserves to be surrounded by people that tell her she looks lovely but also remind her that she is a worthy human being who deserves to be treated with love and respect by her husband regardless of the number on the scales. 

I usually watch the Duggars/Bates because of the "trainwreck" and "weird" element. But when it comes to Anna, I just find myself wanting to do what her parents should be doing but won't do because of their screwed up beliefs......and that is, to swoop in there and rescue her from all of this and introduce her to people who can help her discover her skills and worth and let her know that she has options other than being married to this toxic and emotionally abusive jerkoff who shows no respect for her emotional wellbeing or health. 

Anna seems like a genuinely nice, albeit completely brainwashed young lady who doesn't know her true worth and potential because of her upbringing. It makes me equal parts mad and sad.

Sadly, she will probably wonder what she did wrong again. If she truly believes the man is the head of the house and the woman is the heart she will take responsibility for his continued failings.

As much as I'd love to see Anna smash the windows of Joshley's car and carve her name into his leather seats if he cheats on her again, sadly, she'll probably blame herself for not losing enough weight/dressing sexily enough/meeting his needs enough/having her period that night/etc etc.

For fear of being labelled a leghumper, it actually breaks my heart to know that a woman who seems as kind hearted as Anna would blame herself for the actions of such a horrible human being who treats her with such a lack of respect.

Someone needs to explain to her that (A) a man who thinks with his penis is not ready to be head of the household and (B) the heart is not the body part for responsibility--that is the shoulders.  So she is off the hook.

 It breaks my heart for her that she thinks that if she gets in shape her husband won't cheat any longer. She shouldn't feel responsible because her husband couldn't keep it in his pants!! That is his decision not hers. I hate that this is not only a fudie problem but a problem in regular society as well. Women are all different shapes and sizes and we are more than our looks. Unfortunately she doesn't have the support around her to tell her that she is great the way she is and it isn't her fault he cheated. They blame her for his actions and that to me is the ultimate crime against Anna. She is told to keep sweet and be available at all times. How are you to blame if he gets his kicks from somewhere else?  He is the one in the wrong and I hope one day she realizes that gets the help she needs and leaves his smug ass!!!!

While it is believable that she'd say such a thing, I really doubt she did. First off, it's a quote from an unnamed source, which could very well be someone in the office or someone online. Second, they believe that men stray because women don't dress properly, they find porn, and/or because the wives aren't putting out enough. Their culture's beliefs surrounding sexual misdeeds are not based on a woman's physical appearance beyond the way she dresses.

That would require JB to acknowledge he was (a) wrong in his beliefs and (b) somewhat culpable in Josh's actions. Ain't gonna happen.  This is a man who has built his life around proving everyone who mocked him as a child/teen wrong by playing the "I am a chosen one (sorry, Buffy) - look how well my dick works" game.  Being right about this Quiverful stuff is so tied up into JB's definition of who he is, it's indistinguishable to him.  If the QF lifestyle fails, then he's a faulure.  It'smuch easier to blame the inevitable outcome of this clusterfuck of a lifestyle on the invisible boogeyman of "satan's fortress" than to even begin the emotional and mental legwork to accept the truth.

Oh, but it's just that they didn't discover Gothard and the Pearls until little Joshley was a few years old. Maybe they thought his life had too much free thought from the beginning, and expect that it was more effectively blanket trained out of the rest.

Maybe, but there are enough sites calling him a potential child molester it might be hard to invite him into your school.  Plus the Duggars have played up the idea that they are rich and successful it would be h as rd to justify scholarships for them when there is real poverty in Arkansas.
