But I will say that even if he just has to go to pray therapy, the effect in the short run will not be bad.  Josh's rehab included a lot of guilt and re-indoctrination, but it also has offered him hope of reintegration into his society.  

I think that long term the counseling he and Anna will get Is not going to do much good, but in the short run it may help Josh and Anna reconnect on some level.  Especially if they really believe it will work, it may draw them closer, at least initially.

We shouldn't expect a big crisis or new scandal from Josh soon.  If he made it through prayer prison, he can make it on parole.

Oh, she'll stay in the marriage all right. She's been taught that divorce is bad and a part of her probably wants to work things out, even though there's little chance of success. But there's no way, after the porn and the cheating, that she can look him in the eye and say, "I have complete faith in you."

I doubt she's supposed to look him in the eye anyway. What does she think she is, his equal?! As long as she can still gaze at him adoringly, that's all that matters.

Plenty of people who have cheated or been cheated on stay in marriages afterwards, so I assume they find a way to rebuild the trust somehow. I don't think it is a given that Anna will never trust him again.

But actually he was real good already at not getting caught.  He carried on for quite some time with going to the strip clubs, many more times leading up to the two Danica meetings.  Plus he managed to find a lot of time for the alleged addiction to porn, and no one found out.  It was just a freak accident, the Ashley Madison breach, that revealed him.  Sort of a one in a million chance. 

Maybe the other guys at the place got a good lesson from him about not getting caught.

Here's the thing.... Divorce IS acceptable under some circumstances according to the Bible and even JillyMuffin's super speshul covenant marriage, and adultery is one of those reasons. I wish Anna would realize how much she could make from a tell-all and that she'd be able to support her four and maybe even find a man who truly loves and respects her.  Here's to hoping.

As opposed to what, amateur counseling?

It doesn't mean anything. Any cult member with no psychology degree or training can be called a professional counselor if that's the way they earn money.

I wouldn't be surprised if the "counseling" isn't a form of an accountability buddy. They probably have a rotation already lined up.  Someone signs up for 9:00 a.m. to noon; someone else takes noon to 3:00, and eventually he's turned over to Anna by dusk, and she's responsible for him until the following morning.
