I'm literally laughing out loud right now.  I'm sure signing a piece of paper will keep him on the straight an narrow. Sort of luck a marriage certificate....oh wait....

Now I didn't say it would work lol. I just mean that he could be liable if he caused issues that would force the show under... again.

As for the situation in Germany I can agree with @Bushes of Love. It is the same here. Including baby showers/baptism and that stuff. Add confirmation to it. We all did it for the money. You get a lot for doing that!

My situation is different because I went to a protestant/evangelical private school but even that school would be totally liberal compared to US religious private schools. No weird rules or anything. Only thing different than a normal school were two one hour long worship things on monday and friday. But those counted as religious classes. I was kinda openly not religious and nobody cared. I got the odd "i'll pray for you" a couple of times, but nothing more.

On a typical sunday there are like 10 people or so in our big ass church (a really old and stunning church, beautiful architecture). On Christmas it is kind of tradition to go to church and this is the only day the church is full with hundreds or people. (Besides weddings funerals.)

I really don't think he will appear on the "new" show. TLC can't possibly be THAT stupid.

I wouldn't put it past them. Their stupidity has already been proven as they gave the Duggars a new show.

At first, I thought the title of this thread was Jobwatch 2016. I thought maybe some Duggar was actually going to get a non-Jim Bob, non-TLC job.

Josh could only wish he could be anywhere near as awesome as anything related to the X-Files. I think Mulder and Scully would have this bunch figured it before the first commercial break.

I think you all may have just succeeded in ending my 23-year obsession with the x-files.  Not sure whether to be grateful or pissed.

Okay, with all the X-Files talk, I just couldn't resist!

No your friend isn't weird. Most of my friends have had their kids christened, not for religious reasons just for the party and the gifts from friends. I know that sounds bad but you have to remember that baby showers aren't really a thing here, so it's the first required gift giving time of having a baby.

It probably is more than the gifts.  The Christening is a rite of passage.  It is a sort of introduction of the child to the community.  But I am sure the presents don't hurt. ;)

I don't think TLC cares what Josh does.

It wasn't anything Josh did as an adult that caused the big problems for the show.  It was what JB and Michelle failed to do and how they concealed what Josh did and downplayed it when it came out.  The show was cancelled because of the molestation that happened before the first 14 kids special aired.

If there had been no molestation scandal, the Ashley Madison scandal would have been handled as just one more event in the 19 kids show.  There would have been hand wringing and talk about trust and repentance and so forth, but people would not have been shocked and disgusted by the Duggars.

The outcry to cancel 19k&Counting was not because Josh cheated on his wife or watched porn.  It was because Josh was a child molestor and the parents not only hid it but presented themselves and Josh as examples of morality and so forth.

Josh could suddenly reveal that, unbeknownst to his family he was really a transvestite transsexual having affairs with a multi gendered dance troupe and motorcycle club from Transylvania and it would not threaten the TLC show at all.  They would probably go around filming the family's reactions, interview Josh and so forth.  The Duggar parents could talk about being heartbroken and ask people to empathize, etc.( As Huckabee said, one out of 19 is not so bad. )

So, why should TLC want Josh to promise to stay out of trouble?

It isn't as if they are going to have him starring in "The Repentant Duggar:Counting on Number One" (or, at least, not yet).

I also came here looking to see if Josh was out. If only they didn't make their flights private FJ would know by now.

Baby showers are great for the mom, but if you ask me I would rather not attend. The few I have attended they weren't much fun, food was okay, but I would rather not spend hours watching someone else open gifts. I can stay home watch golf and feel the same excitement. :tw_expressionless:

I suspect he's messed up and gotten extended plenty of times while at RU.  Especially in the shower.

Probably messing up on purpose so he doesn't have to go home

What can I say about showers? I didn't even want to go to my own. As a matter of fact, my then fiance lured me home with promises of a home cooked meal, and when I opened the front door, there was a yell of "surprise!"(bridal shower) I was so angry that I shut the door and stood on the porch for a few minutes before I went inside. Besides showers, I REALLY loathe surprises.

So did Mr. Four's family learn? Why no they didn't. Right before One of Four was due, they threw me  a shower. I'd said that Since One was being adopted, I did NOT want a shower because if the adoption disrupted, I didn't want to have to send all the gifts back. They rented a hall and did it anyway, inviting not only people I'd never met but people who didn't even know I wasn't the one who was pregnant. (It's apparently a Four family custom to invite everyone you've ever met to showers ) I hated it, I didn't want it, I was embarassed and anxious and I still wish they hadn't done it.

To this day, when I receive a shower invitation, I send a gift and my regrets.

I read this, just for the giggles, since the title was so amazing.

I have laughed for five minutes straight, thanks to this gem of a statement....Blackout drunk on the floor of a strip club asking some girl named Sprinkles where it all went wrong?

Quote

He went to Illinois but ran away from the Duggar plane screaming, and just kept running like Forrest Gump, until his penis fell in a new lady, where it remains at this moment.

Well, that is probably the funniest thing I'm going to read all day!

Same is true for my country. In the Catholic school my kid went to, she was together with atheists, protestants, a couple of Muslims and not to forget the lesbian couple with their daughter. Nobody cared. Just better teachers there.  But baptising  the baby is not only for the money. It a tradition, a get together to celebrate the new person. And grandma will be pleased.

Another thing: I really likes that the Pope stated  (right before super Tuesday) that someone (trump) who wants to built walls is not a christian since Christians built bridges .  Not a direct quote but coming close. Also a good message for the fundi "christians" in the US.
