WTF Politicians and Commentators

Seems like a lot of politicians (especially, to me, state wide positions) are saying and doing some pretty crazy stuff.  Not enough, maybe, to merit a thread of their own, but I thought maybe we could do a round-up?

Exhibit 1.  Michele Fiore - Nevada Assemblywoman, Bundy supporter, Finicum apologist, gun nut

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michele_Fiore#IRS_investigation  (Yes, I'm sourcing wiki - because of the extensive list of sources down at the end of the page.)

She's the blonde in the middle.

What if one of the women is pregnant?  Is the fetus packing heat too?  We need to know!

I love that this is in comic sans. It just adds to the absurdity.

I wish I could just laugh at the gun nuts but it is not funny any more.

I also wish I could laugh at Donald Trump but he is not funny anymore, either.

Donald Trump sucks.  I thought he acted like an overblown bully back in the 80's when he first started getting national attention.

So, Michele Fiore is headed to Oregon to get up into that Malheur issue.  *eyes roll*

Meanwhile, Maine's governor took to the radio waves this morning with this gem:

“I had to go scream at the top of my lungs about black dealers coming in and doing the things that they’re doing to our state. I had to scream about guillotines and those types of things before they were embarrassed into giving us a handful of DEA agents. That is what it takes with this 127th [Legislature]. It takes outrageous comments and outrageous actions to get them off the dime. They just simply don’t move.”

I am a conservative, and even I am at a loss for a choice.   I even looked over the party line for a life buoy.   No one seems appealing.

I told Mr MM we might have to defect.   No reaction.

Canadia, yes, Canadia, do you have a wall or can we come in?

This week in WTF politicians, Maine's governor reveals his xenophobia:

Quote

Then he doubled down on a past, baseless argument that asylum seekers pose a public health threat, saying they’re bringing hepatitis C, tuberculosis, AIDS, HIV and “the ziki fly,” an apparent malaprop reference to themosquito-transmitted Zika virus.

The parallels between LePage and Trump are truly terror-inducing.

Raises hand and waves it in the air......

Here in the heart of Texas, the Travis County GOP has inadvertently elected Robert Morrow as the new Travis County Republican Party Chair.  (Austin, the state capital, is located in Travis County.)

According to this article, Morrow says he decided run for the GOP chair's position for only the very best of reasons: hate for the GOP establishment and revenge.

More from the Austin Chronicle:

Quote

Morrow’s Twitter feed – a jaw-dropping stream of sexually explicit political accusations targeting both parties, mixed with salacious photos of scantily clad women – has made appearances on national news as well as late-night comedy shows, eliciting caustic ridicule and utter disbelief. Morrow’s obscene remarks (a representative example: “Pretty sure George W. Bush can suck a dick better than Hillary Clinton”) as well as his promotion of pet conspiracy theories, including the insistence that Lyndon Baines Johnson facilitated the murder of John F. Kennedy and belief that Rick Perry and many in the Bush family are engaged in homosexual adultery, have put the local and state GOP on the attack, compelling them to mount a no-holds-barred campaign to unseat the freshly minted chair.

Seems like a joke in there somewhere.  Something about they just fell into it or some such . . . .

Someone on my Twitter feed is tracking the legislators supporting the seditionists:

Morrow thinks he received a slight majority of the votes (56%) because the Travis County GOP Chair was at the end of the very long Republican primary ballot, and his name was listed before his opponent's. This may have been related to the YUUUUUGE turnout of Trump primary voters, who may not have had any interest in any of the other items on ballot, but just thought, what the heck, might as well do some ad hoc recreational voting.  At this point, the Travis County GOPers feel like they have fallen into Robert Morrow's "area".   "Ewwwww. Its dark, moist and smelly. Where the hell are we and how did we get here?"

re: Malheur visitors

Damned shockingly long list, n'es-ce pas?

Here's another one:

Anyone familiar with her?

Yes, her husband was a Bundy Ranch and Malheur participant and has been arrested.  Several constituents on her FB are omg-ing, patriot pearl clutching due to the autopsy results showing the LaVoy was shot in the back.  It's easy to track the current narrative that he was assassinated because it's showing up everywhere, replicating like a virus. Someone will stumble across the Sheriff's reports and won't believe those either.

One person hopes Trump will open a formal investigation into the shooting when he's elected......

There are many wild places in Nevada that are knock-your-socks-off gorgeous and deserve checking out, personally, by me,  but on a per capita basis?  There are a lot of crazy people.  A lot.  Exhibit 1: Michele Fiore!

Bear with me here! I check in on Tony Ortega's Underground Bunker, (tonyortega.org) where he blogs daily about all things Church of Scientology, better know as Co$.   This one was kind of a jaw dropper and I decided to put it here, because Michele Fiore is a WTF politician (note posts above) and we came to know of her during the Bundy occupation of the Malheur Wildlife Refuge.  Turns out, there are many, many clues that point to her being a Scientologist.  No, I'm telling you, I am not making this up.  Enjoy...sort of.....to the extent that you can while indulging in daily stress eating brought on by the current administration.

Why we think nutty Las Vegas councilwoman Michele Fiore might be a Scientologist

Plus, a thread titled WTF Politicians and Commentators is needed now more than ever!

My sweet pup was diagnosed with a brain tumor in September. She passed away in my arms on Thanksgiving morning. It all happened so fast. She didn't want to eat anything the day before, but prior to that was ok. Knew it was near time and had booked an appointment to take her next week. However, she decided for me. She was only 8 and really was one of the best dogs. She never met a stranger, human or dog. Life isn't the same without her.

I made my first Granny Square! After nearly 30 years of knitting and crocheting this was a project I never did. Until now! I needed something to do with my rest of very colourful yarn and now I am very happy. I need to try different needles with my yarns but I think I found something nice for the future.
I needed only 3 different youtube videos until I found a person who explained the concept slowly and repetitive and with words I can understand. I hate when these tutorials make me feel dumb.

You know what I hate most about subtle racism? The gaslighting. Stop cosplaying as a nice person and say it with your chest.

We had to put our 14 year old dachshund, Trinket, down today.  She was fine Thursday, but by mid-morning yesterday, it was apparent that something was really wrong,  She had zero energy, lost her appetite and began walking into corners.  By morning I knew it was time for her to have her final visit to the vet.  She had lost about a pound and a half recently.  RIP, Trinket!

Horrific! A 6 year old boy was murdered, and mother severly injured, in a hate crime in Chicago. Reports say they are both Palestinian Muslims and were specifically targeted because of that. Thankfully the man who did it is in custody
      This is pure evil
