The people behind the undercover PP videos have been indicted

"The Center for Medical Progress had covertly shot videos of Planned Parenthood officials discussing the provision of body parts from aborted fetuses for research. Mr. Daleiden, 26, had posed as a biotechnology representative to infiltrate Planned Parenthood affiliates and surreptitiously record his attempts to procure tissue for research."

Daleiden has "been indicted on a felony charge of tampering with a governmental record and a misdemeanor count related to purchasing human organs."

And, to top it all off, Planned Parenthood has been completely cleared of any wrongdoing.

And now an arrest warrant has been issued for Daleiden. So much schadenfreude on my Facebook page this afternoon. Too bad there has already been so much backlash, including states defunding PP, over this out-and-out lie.

But  the charges are being brought in Texas of all states. The prosecutor said 'We must go where the evidence lead us', but it's not exactly the most friendly environment for investigating crimes against an abortion provider.

However, at least it discredits the whole organ/tissue trading kerfuffle.

Except for those whose minds will not be changed by facts. Like Texas gov Gregg Abbott who issued this statement late yesterday: “Nothing about today’s announcement in Harris County impacts the state’s ongoing investigation. The State of Texas will continue to protect life, and I will continue to support legislation prohibiting the sale or transfer of fetal tissue.”

Unfortunately, discrediting these claims of wrongdoings by PP in court doesn't seem to have done much before. There are still people who either don't believe it, or just insist that PP is still doing evil for being abortion factories. Like they really believed that Onion article a few years ago. I worry these indictments won't do much now, because these frauds have already done their intended lasting damage to women's healthcare. Will the states that have defunded PP services after these deceptive videos be forced to change their stance after these indictments? Doubt it.

FFS! Has this guy any education at all? (I am from outside the US). The evidence is there. A DA has decided there is enough to prosecute. He. as governor, cannot interfere in the finding of facts in a case - or am I being very naive, as I have only changed planes in Texas?

He's a lawyer, a former AG, a former state Justice . . . you would THINK the law matters to him.
